Oh my word Oliver's so cute even when grizzling lol. Great that he slept through, did you keep waking listening out for him?

December2018 · 28/03/2019 18:44

Haha no I slept like a log 😂😂

MagicalCreatures · 28/03/2019 21:45

@Athers666 try not to worr y too much. They can be so over cautious and put bad things in our heads. Brady was born on the 25th centile for his weight. Has now dropped abit more and is on the 9th.
His length is on the 50th centile and his head is in the 75th centile.
So basically my child is going to grow up to be a lanky, tall, skinny bobble head 😂
He struggles to hold his head up now coz it’s too heavy for his skinny neck. 😂
Also, Brady has days when he just cries all day. I get scared to take him out incase I just can’t console him and then go into panic mode in the middle of a shop. It’s awful isn’t it.
@December2018 I really miss all the girls too. I might try and pm a few of them. I looked on the spreadsheet I created to try and get a load of the usernames but somehow all the info has been deleted. Really weird. I’ll go back through the thread at some point.
You’ve all been the key to my sanity through this process too. And it’s so nice that we’ve all shared the whole experience.
I can’t believe Oliver slept through. I’m sooooo jealous. I just can’t seen to get Brady into a routine at the moment. Also, the first night we bought him home, I sprayed some Avon lavender spray in the bedroom and he slept really well but I was worried that maybe newborns shouldn’t have it so I didn’t do it again. Is it safe then? I might try it again. X

December2018 · 28/03/2019 22:00

@MagicalCreatures yeah I googled lavender oil for newborns and it's totally safe, I rubbed a little bit on the soles of his feet too (my mum told me that trick) apparently my mums grandma used to do it with her & siblings and it really works 😊
I mix a few drops in a mist bottle and spray his sheets before bed too!
Fingers crossed it wasn't a one off and he sleeps tonight too 😂

Athers666 · 28/03/2019 22:08

It's so comforting to hear that others cry all day sometimes and not just mine! When my husband got home Casper was all smiles and coos randomly so it's just me that he hates! Maybe he was crying because he was bored today but I got too scared to take him out in case he screamed his head off. He has a habit of kicking off in shops and I hate the way people gawp and give judgy looks!
Yes there are loads of others that have stopped posting, would love to hear how they are all doing.

MagicalCreatures · 29/03/2019 04:30

@December2018 I’m definitely going to try this again.
So how did Ollie sleep?
@Athers666 I do find Brady gets bored if we stay in all day.
Well another bad nights sleep for me again.
Put him down to bed at half 7. Woke at half 8 for a bottle. Then half 11. Then 1.10am and decided to reach and be sick again all over himself. I had to get up at 3am anyway to go to Dawlish with my mum and sister for mother’s day. So I’m soooo exhausted x

OP posts:
Athers666 · 29/03/2019 05:44

No sleep here! Casper's now got a rotten cold. No wonder he was so cranky yesterday. He's barely slept as he's been struggling to breathe and his chest is so gruffly. Poor little mite is super miserable. Do I need to be giving him Calpol?

Athers666 · 29/03/2019 05:45

@MagicalCreatures have a lovely weekend in Dawlish x

Roomarmoset · 29/03/2019 06:06

@MagicalCreatures sounds like you had the same night as me, Ava seems to be getting worse 😔

She's the opposite to Brady, her neck is so fat the doctors given us cream for her rolls as they're getting sweaty and sore 🙈

Things haven't been great with us, Ava has colic and reflux and I have post natal depression so not a lot of joy in our household.

I just want to sleep. I'm exhausted all the time and it's just not getting better x

December2018 · 29/03/2019 06:06

@MagicalCreatures he slept thru again, apart from spitting his dummy out a couple of times and wiggling about, he was up and rearing to go at 5 thou 😂
He's next to me as we speak fighting with himself shouting "ooooooohhhhh" 😊

Poor Brady being sick though! It must be a shock to them when they do that, Oliver has done it a couple of times and he just sits there like a startled rabbit probably thinking
"WHAT THE ACTUAL FU*K"

December2018 · 29/03/2019 06:12

@Athers666 ohh nooo!!
It just makes your day so much more difficult when your exhausted too dosent it!
My staple diet is energy drinks & coffee!
I probably would give him a bit of calpol he's probably got a little headache too, calpol might help him settle, and let you get some rest

MagicalCreatures · 29/03/2019 06:33

@Athers666 yeh I would give him a little bit of calpol. Have you taken his temperature?
These colds must be going round. Poor little Casper. And poor mummy too.
Thankyou. I’m really looking forward to it.
@Roomarmoset sorry to hear your struggling too. And with the pnd. Do you have any support? Brady has come out of his colic now but I feel your pain. What bottles are you using?
And have they given you infant gaviscon for her reflux then.
@December2018 ahhh your so lucky!!! I hope he keeps it up for you. They do say there is a point that they just click and start sleeping through. I hope that happens for Brady and there rest of our little bubbas soon x

Athers666 · 29/03/2019 06:38

Have given him Calpol even though his temp is ok currently. I have to say he's cheered up a lot since having it. Poor little dude has the sneeziest nose ever. Hoping he might have a sleep as he's been up all night but he's still wide awake loool.

December2018 · 29/03/2019 06:41

@MagicalCreatures I've got a funny feeling this might be the calm before the storm for some reason 😂
Oliver will have me done in today though he will be none stop until bedtime lol
He feeds every 1.5 hours sometimes closer gaps, he will have a little swig, then fuss for a bit... another swig, fuss haha!
And he will not nap! My OH has to take him for a walk in the pram for an hour after work so I can clean the house 😳

emwithme · 29/03/2019 07:12

Hi guys waves

This thread had fallen off my "threads I'm on" and I thought no one was updating on here any more (we have an active FB group) until it popped into active this morning.

Matilda is now 4 months 1 day old and I should be sleeping now but I'm not. I went out for dinner last night with the NCT girls and had to leave early (after main, before pudding) because she was just inconsolable and screaming the house down. Poor daddy was trying to give her a bottle but she was having none of it!

We've settled into a very loose routine where we go up to bed at 10 ish, she feeds to sleep by 11 ish, and then wakes for feeds at about 3 and 6, before waking properly at about 9. Some of my NCT group babies go down at 7 or 8 o'clock but are awake by 5 am...And that gets a giant NOPE from me! I'm not a morning person. She now weighs 14lbs 1oz, is smiling and rolling over, about to cut a tooth so is the dribbliest baby around.

Now to read back and see how all your gorgeous babies are doing.

MagicalCreatures · 29/03/2019 10:27

@emwithme Yay!!! Hi Hun. Oh my goodness. Wasn’t Matilda the first of our babies to arrive. So nice to hear from you. We were all just saying we’ve not heard from a lot of the girls on here.
Unfortunately I’m not on FB so can’t catch up on there. Are some of the other girls I mentioned earlier on it.
Cakelaur
Stephisaur
Gemsie
RomPom
Olga?
Your ‘routine’ sounds fairly similar to what Brady has been doing recently.
@December2018 see that’s where I’m lucky.
Brady naps alot during the day. Will go down by himself in his bouncer chair cuddling his little toy all cutely. X

@emwithme helloooo there!!!
I'm not on Facebook either 😳
I can't believe Matilda is getting a tooth!
What is the teething like? I'm dreading it with Oliver it's gonna make my extremely long days even longer haha!

I was only looking thru this thread the other day and seen the first picture of Matilda you posted and was thinking about you

Athers666 · 29/03/2019 14:31

Having trouble posting a pic for some reason.
Brady looks lovely. So sweet! And Oliver. Gorgeous boys x

Athers666 · 29/03/2019 14:31

Oh it did post!

Roomarmoset · 29/03/2019 16:37

Gorgeous babies 😊

Mother in law has given me a few hours to myself so went straight to bed. Health visitor has said we should try a comfort milk so going to give that a whirl.

I do have a lot of support, I just struggle with my husband doing 24 hour shifts, I find the bed routine difficult on my own but I know it'll get better (at some point?!).

This photo should make you all laugh, I needed to brush my teeth so put Ava on the floor (her favourite place) and she grabbed something nearby.. I had to try and get it off her before going to Dunelm 😂

December2018 · 29/03/2019 19:06

@Roomarmoset omg! 😂😂 that is sooo funny!!

MagicalCreatures · 29/03/2019 19:19

@December2018 Oliver looks so adorable. He has got one of those faces that just screams ‘I’m a cheeky chappy’ I can really see him giving you some hilarious moments.
Brady is quite a serious baby. He really giggles and loves to play certain games with me, but my god does he frown when he’s not sure about something 😂
@Athers666 Casper is perfect. He looks really baby like still. I love that. I think they should stay little like that forever.
It annoys me that the doctors are worrying you over his size etc. He does look petite but so is Brady. He is just like his dad. Long and skinny. Are either of you that type of build?
@Roomarmoset that’s nice if your mil. My mil does nothing to help me. Just wants to hold Brady all the time and cuddle him to sleep.
😂 they like to embarrass us don’t they. Couldn’t grab the cotton buds could you Ava?!? 😂

Well my clever little boy has figured out how to pick his dummy up (if he can reach it) and put it back in his mouth. I caught him doing it on video x

I’ve become one of those people that get excited over the littlest thing my baby does 😂
