Sadly bad news for me. 6,4 and couldn't see a fetal pole :-(

BirthdayKake · 08/12/2018 09:27

So sorry bumble :(

StargazyDrifter · 08/12/2018 11:58

Sorry bumbletub ☹️ Difficult news and a difficult time of year. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and a rainbow. In the meantime there is all the cheese and all the wine. Lots of hugs.x

StargazyDrifter · 08/12/2018 12:03

Welcome to all the new people btw!

DianaBlythe I grew up somewhere that sounds similar and totally feel your frustration. I don't cope with this sort of thing very well myself, but their heart is mostly in the right place. Still rather they didn't! Don't share more than you're ready to.

Onestep2 may I ask about your tummy troubles? I don't have any underlying conditions but I have had vicious and slightly stingy ramblings in there for the last week or so. In my unscientific head I've concluded it's lots of acid from hunger. Whatever it is, is there anyhing I can try to help relieve it? Milky things? Never ever had this before, it's kind of uncomfortable.

Slept for 11 hours and still really tired. Although my stressy vivid dreams that make me wake up in a panic have turned into vivid pleasant dreams with lovely people in like my late grandparents. Funny thing, the brain.

Hope everyone is starting to feel a little bit festive!

blueeyedviking · 08/12/2018 12:08

So sorry @bumbletub Sad

@stargazydrifter @onestep2 I've also had tummy issues last week. Different type of pains and apparently I am dehydrated and have an infection so on antibiotics now. Apparently very common... The pains still make me nervous tho..

Onestep2 · 08/12/2018 12:13

@starGazyDrifter I've had problems with my tummy for years. Flares up maybe once a year. It tends to come on after combinations of hunners of alcohol or eating really crap for a while (curries, pizza, spicy foods, fried foods... Anything good) and drinking lots of fizzy juice or being sick Like a stomach bug. Pain is like sicky burny feeling (worse than heartburn) that's made worse eating or drinking anything. Doc has always said it's a problem with the acidity in my stomach / possible tummy ulcer / GERD (basically they have no clue) anyyyyway usually when it flares up they give me omzaprole or ranitidine and I need to avoid all triggers and it usually settles in bout 5/6 days

Milk n that don't work for me but gaviscon and rennies would keep it manageable till doc prescribed something.

KinCat · 08/12/2018 12:20

Hi everyone! I dropped off the thread for a while as I'd had some bleeding and was getting too stressed out.

Had a good scan today though! Measuring one day behind (7+4) and a quick heart beat which we were able to see and hear which was amazing! My only worry is that the space around the baby seemed really small, like it took up the whole uterus or there wasn't much water. Not sure what that means for it and I don't want to Google.

The drs first measurement was only 6+5 so I was really worried as I know exactly when I ovulated but then she tried from, I guess, the other side and it was measuring correctly so it must have been curled up a bit or something.

I had to go to the loo twice before she could do the scan, I thought my bladder had to be 100% full but apparently half full is better.

StargazyDrifter · 08/12/2018 12:48

Thank you blueeyedviking and Onestep2, that's helped me understand a bit more. I will try and drink loads of water today and maybe some yoghurt and will see if it makes any difference. I'm not very good at drinking at work, never a moment to do it! I've also been having pizza and prawn toast quite a lot... time to lay off those for a bit. 🙈

Onestep2 · 08/12/2018 13:53

I am in a bit of a predicament. My brother is married to a girl... lets call her claire. Claire is a fake busy body who causes nothing but drama and has been root of many family fallouts. Me and my DSis keep her at arms length and trust her with nothing. But for sake of a relationship with DB and all family we play nice. Claire doesnt really speak to me but my DSis hears from her every day. DSis phoned me saying Claire had been on phone asking her if I was pregs and that's the rumour that's going about. Dsis obv denied it. Claire then phoned me (she never phones me and I've not spoken to her since september) and says she's going to pop round to drop off my Xmas present (she's never bought me anything in my life) and is says she will bring round a bottle of wine and looking forward to a catch up. Apparently my mum told her I was having a quiet one as DH is away working 😭😭 she is testing me 😂 ad rather die than tell her b4 I've announced it lol

Help.

FuzzyPixel · 08/12/2018 14:01

Onestep2, buy two bottles of wine; one alcoholic, one non-alcoholic. Decant the alcoholic bottle, and replace the contents using the non-alcoholic wine. When she pops round, you already have a bottle open. Wink

TwinkleDay · 08/12/2018 14:11

@Onestep2 pah what a bitch I used to work with a witch that was called Claire too so nice choice of name. And yes get a load of non alcoholic ones like @fuzzypixel says and completely do her over, as long as you sit in a diffrent room to where your pouring to drinking.

The postman the best, after all this with people on the phone I have finally received my scan letter !!! Wednesday 19.12 at 9.10am :D some organisation too my life! Finally! Though why the hell they couldn’t tell me this over the phone and give me peace of mind on Thursday I don’t know. Before Xmas too I will be 12 + 4! 6 days before Christmas.

@bumbletub sorry to hear your news, take care and have a merry Christmas, thinking of you xxx

Onestep2 · 08/12/2018 14:38

@fuzzypixel @twinkleday what a fucking great idea to decant a bottle!!! Going to go and get one b4 she comes! I'm dreading it lol I feel the Spanish inqusition coming on. Lol leave tampax on the sink along with my old pill. Tell her how bad my period is while downing non alcoholic wine straight from the bottle. Might even pretend i get so drunk that I pass out on the couch LOOOOOOLLLLL

StargazyDrifter · 08/12/2018 14:44

Onestep2 that's really dreadful and cruel. It's entirely up to you how and when you deliver the news. What an intrusive, selfish and unkind so and so. Probably desperate for approval but going about it all the wrong way. Behaviour like this really riles me. Sorry you have to put up with it.

Definitely second the wine suggestion. Or, if she brings red, can you mull it in the spirit of being festive and to boil off most of the alcohol?

Or can you tell her you had a migraine coming, took some meds and now must stay off the wine?

I'd try and stop her coming at all though - any last minute emergencies? Can your sister help manufacture one?

StargazyDrifter · 08/12/2018 14:46

Great idea to say stuff that's at odds w pregnancy too! Can you say you've started training for a big run or are about to give blood?

MakeAWhish · 08/12/2018 14:53

@Onestep2 I'd tell her to bog off! You've already got plans.... no way would I be letting her come round and fish about your pregnancy! Off you fuck Claire!

Onestep2 · 08/12/2018 15:02

She's honestly the type that if I tried to fob her off that she would make it a drama about her (I've been doing this dance for years) DB went no contact with whole family for 4 years after she caused a big family drama with my mum n dad so we tend to just appease her through gritted teeth 🙄🙄 she's honestly such a nightmare. Knows better than anyone about everything. Oh and if your going to Tenerife, don't bother, she's been to Elevenerife and it was better and she had a better time than you 😂😂😂😂

Delilah7 · 08/12/2018 15:08

Yay! Sorry to butt in ladies finally got my scan date. Wanted it to be in December and it's New Year's Eve! Wooooopeeeee!

Optept · 08/12/2018 15:12

@onestep2 nice big hug when she arrives, tell her how lovely it is to see her...while dressed in your dressing gown and slippers. Lead her into the living room where there are several buckets and towels, and tell her to excuse you if you have to dash out of the room as you've had some serious D&V and will try not to let it ruin your evening! Then suddenly run off to the bathroom and make some horrible wretching/coughing noises and lots of splashes.

See how long she stays 😂😂

StargazyDrifter · 08/12/2018 15:29

She sounds a right piece of work. Good luck to you Onestep2, just make sure no lie is so big she twigs it and turns that into a drama. Hopefully it can go quickly for you. Will be cheering you on from my sofa! Let us know how you get on!

(btw have drunk gallons of water and the tummy rumbles have subsided for now)

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 08/12/2018 15:35

@Delilah7 my scans also on New Year's Eve!! Grin

TwinkleDay · 08/12/2018 15:49

@Onestep2 this is making me laugh so hard at all there suggestions ‘ off you fuck claire’ 😂😂 yeah or play the sick plan lol 😂

@delilah7 what a relief! These scans seem to be right frustrating but I have just been dancing around the ironing now Ive got mine now. 😂

Delilah7 · 08/12/2018 15:50

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts @TwinkleDay just abit annoying as wanted to give gifts out and tell nieces and nephews at Xmas!

Onestep2 · 08/12/2018 16:38

Some really good ideas here 😂😂

Sister is coming over for some back up. Said she's going to get absolutly fucking hammered then Claire will never notice if I don't seem that drunk 😂😂😂😂 Claire also is what I call a trophy wife n never gets smashed or has a hair out of place n all that (think stepford wife) so if she thinks me n sister are going to get hammered she will leave a lot quicker (hopefully)

TwinkleDay · 08/12/2018 16:43

@delilah7 oh I see that a bummer then :/ maybe as an emergency precaution book a private one if you can before Xmas. How far along should you be then?

What a sister getting leathered on your behalf and doing Claire over, let us know how it goes !

Delilah7 · 08/12/2018 17:00

@TwinkleDay I'll be nearly 13 weeks by then!! X
