@onestep2 Im 10+3 and the last few days the nausea has calmed down and my breasts are less sore. Im still exhausted, emotional and lack of appetite tho but I do think things changes when you approach that 12 week mark.

I still can't decide on having an early scan or not. My booked one is for 24th Dec.

@Twinkleday - can you march down there and speak to a human? Sounds like you have to be super demanding on getting it booked.

HchyScott · 07/12/2018 17:30

@onestep2 my symptoms have calmed down massively this week and I’m 10+2. Considering this time last week I was posting about crying my eyes out, fed up with food aversions and nausea and this week I feel almost back to normal! I never had any sore boobs so that’s not changed. Glad that you are feeling better ☺️

DianaBlythe · 07/12/2018 18:00

10 weeks today and also feeling a bit better. It makes sense for it to be the placenta taking over but I’ve been a bit unnerved by it too!

Got congratulated by a work colleague. He was dead nice and asked if I needed any help or to swap any shifts or to stay over with him and his wife as my commute is massive.

I have had to tell bosses because of various things and a friend at our level knows as she covered for me for fertility appointments, but apparently now it’s common knowledge. Or is it? But I don’t really want to ask! Bit upset really.

Squ1ggle · 07/12/2018 18:53

@Kentishgal you have the right to choose whichever hospital you like, I have chosen a hospital outside of my trust because a) it's where I had ds is where you want to be if anything goes wrong and b) the local hospital maternity service is dreadful. I think it's a bit of extra paperwork but essentially I still have my standard midwife appointments at my gps with the local trust midwives but I have my scans and will give birth at my chosen hospital.

@TwinkleDay all this chasing around is just a nightmare, definitely stress we could do without right now.

I'm 9.4 today, don't have booking in appointment until 11 weeks and then they'll arrange the scan. Really hoped for one before Christmas but that's never going to happen so we've ended up paying for a private scan today. Happily everything was fine and dates are spot on (-1 day) and there's only one in there which I was really stressing about given how huge I feel and my family history of twins. Feel very relieved, we're happy to tell people now and even told ds tonight. He seems happy about it, he definitely understood and took it all in as he then told granny that 'there's a baby growing in mummy's tummy'. He's getting a few surprises as it's his birthday next week, we're taking him to Thomas land at Drayton manor tomorrow which he doesn't know about and his aunty is coming too which is also a surprise. Bless him, he'll be worn out from it all Grin

DianaBlythe · 07/12/2018 19:09

Oh @squ1ggle that’s so lovely about your DS!

@BirthdayKake you are looking fabulous!

Lovely to hear about all the positive scans.

@Twinkle I hope you get sorted. That sounds ridiculously frustrating and inefficient.

BirthdayKake · 07/12/2018 19:23

Oh Diana thank you Blush

twinkle I had all this crap in my last pregnancy (different area). It took forever to get a scan date, then last minute they put it back a week! I was fuming. Hope you get sorted soon.

StargazyDrifter · 07/12/2018 19:50

Lovely news of more positive scans!

Definitely agree about placenta taking over Onestep2 and also totally get the shower thing Kentishgal. Really annoying they're being so disorganised TwinkleDay. I had a frustrating afternoon when my hospital called to cancel an antenatal appointment I didn't have! They were convinced I'm seeing the MH midwife on Monday, when I'm definitely not, it's in January. Got a bit grumpy with them.

Otherwise brain was on a roll at work but body definitely not keeping up! Still sore boobs and bloating but now also huge hunger and a lot of sick-feeling if I don't eat. Glad it's Friday. No major plans other than doing the tree. Happy weekend everyone! 😊

ReginaPhalange89 · 07/12/2018 20:02

@dianablythe do you think your boss told people ?!
My last pregnancy my boss came out and asked me in front of the whole staff room. I was like 8 weeks and just like.... Wtf !? Ask me in private if you suspect it !! I denied it of course but then rumours started and I ended up just telling everyone 🙈

I am 6+4 today and think nausea is finally showing up! Today I've felt ever so slightly queasy on and off, mainly feels like im hungry so eat something and it eases but then comes back not long after. Im not really in the mood for anything that's particularly healthy either! Had an apple for breakfast and it made me feel sick 🙈

Kentishgal · 07/12/2018 20:09

Ah squ1ggle that's put my mind at rest - thank you. I shall just dig my heels in! And stop talking to myself in the shower!!

ReginaPhalange89 · 07/12/2018 21:07

Girls is it really bad if you catch a sickness bug in early pregnancy? 🙈 There's one going around my family and im so worried im going to catch it !

RooKangaroo · 07/12/2018 21:13

Clothing dilemma - what are the sick/nausea people wearing to feel comfortable?

I can't stand ANY pressure against my stomach right now, given all the nausea and sickness. Jeans, leggings, everything feels too constricting. I can wear skirts (loose or flowy, maxi, etc.), but I'd have to wear tights for warmth and they're too constraining.

I don't think it's a size/bloating thing as I've tried wearing some of my leggings from my last pregnancy that are a couple of sizes bigger (I didn't bother with maternity leggings, just bought bigger sizes). But it seems like any material against my tummy and it feels constricting and add to the nausea.

I can't be naked all day!!!

RooKangaroo · 07/12/2018 21:14

@ReginaPhalange89, no reason it should affect the baby. Might be a bit nasty for you for a couple of days though. Sorry :(

RooKangaroo · 07/12/2018 21:17

Hmmmm.... @DianaBlythe. Did you tell anyone, or did just one-two people know? Definitely a bit strange for it to common knowledge now. But some people are right gossips :(

Hope it wasn't someone senior/boss who told though. It's private medical information that they shouldn't pass on.

StargazyDrifter · 07/12/2018 21:45

Regina bugs are ok, but if you get close to 38C temperature take paracetamol to keep it down - fever can be harmful.

Roo I know what you mean. I've been wearing the same (once skinny) jeans for ages, they are really loose on the waist now and it works well. Tights are an absolute no for me too at the moment. Would more breathable/less synthetic fabrics be better maybe?

DartmoorDoughnut · 07/12/2018 21:49

I’ve got my old maternity trousers out, only 7 weeks but the bloat is insane and comfort is key!

Asked my father tonight to be in theatre with me for section as had a mare last time around and feel like he’ll be more help/support (he’s a consultant surgeon) than DH who, whilst lovely, isn’t brilliant at emotional support bless him!

TheScaredyKat · 07/12/2018 22:09

Just catching up, good to hear some happier news on the scans these last couple of days! 😊
Im 10+4 now and also starting to feel a bit more awake during the day. Although still exhausted in the evening but that's probably because I'm not sleeping that well. Still got mild nausea and sore boobs though.
@rookangaroo oh no poor you! My nausea hasn't been that bad but still feel really uncomfortable in most of my jeans now. I'm living in one pair that are lower on the waist so don't cut into my tummy and my fave Boden leggings. They are super soft and have quite a wide waistband so they don't cut in. If all else fails just go out in joggers or Pjs, I'm sure you'd look stylish

DianaBlythe · 08/12/2018 00:32

No idea. I have turned up at work covered in vomit but thought I’d passed it off as a coffee incident. It’s not out of the realms of possibility someone’s seen me vomiting in traffic, there is one main road into work that’s constantly at a standstill. Who knows? It’s a small place full of gossip and I guess I’m glad I got this far! Just a bi let miffed!

@rookangaroo it’s a shame it’s so cold, you can’t really go bare legged can you? Would hold ups help? Just so there’s nothing tight on your belly? Or something like these under bump tights:

www.seraphine.com/en-gb/nude-under-bump-15-denier-maternity-tights.html

Hope you start feeling better soon.

DianaBlythe · 08/12/2018 00:33

@Dartmoor - that’s so lovely that you’ve asked your dad.

DartmoorDoughnut · 08/12/2018 06:16

@DianaBlythe ideally I’d have my dad to be there to look after me and have DH there to look after baby but you can only have one ... although I’m totally going to ask if I can have both there just in case!

TwinkleDay · 08/12/2018 08:24

Managed to get through to a Human, apparently they can’t book me in until after Monday as closed over the weekend and they don’t know if it will be before Xmas. Ffs.

NoParticularPattern · 08/12/2018 08:41

Morning ladies!! Back from our holiday and I feel like absolute hell. I’m still half convinced (in my ever slightly defeatist way) that I’ve eaten something dodgy whilst out there and that’s what’s making me feel rough, but hoping that it’s morning sickness. So incredibly tired and grumpy about it, but 7+1 today so 12 weeks getting ever nearer. Don’t really feel like eating a huge amount and feels very similar to with DD so fingers crossed it’s a good sign!

I have my midwife appointment on the 20th at 8+6 and then hopefully my scan appointment will be speedy like last time. Not long to wait!

FuzzyPixel · 08/12/2018 09:01

Hi all,

May I join please? I've just posted on the pregnancy board for July babies, so excuse the introductory copy and paste message below if you've already seen it!

After four years of trying, including fertility treatments, I recently discovered that I'm pregnant.

I was worried about bleeding, so was given various tests and a scan yestersay and was measured at 7+6, making me 8 weeks pregnant today. We got to see the flicker of a heartbeat too. The doctor is concerned that I need to up my water intake but other than that, everything is progressing nicely.

It was such a lovely shock. After four and. A bit years of health professionals telling me I can't be pregnant, I was still in disbelief.

I am experiencing morning sickness, painful boobs and that weird taste in my mouth. I'm grateful though, if I didn't have those I think it'd be even harder for me to believe that it is happening.

EDD is 20th July.

jq28 · 08/12/2018 09:12

Hi ladies, 8+2 here. Have booked a private scan for 22nd Dec when il be 10+2 so can hopefully tell parents at xmas. Have only told best friend and husband and it's so hard to keep secret! Only symptoms are massive painful boobs so far.
Does anyone know if a scan at 10+2 will be on the belly or vaginally?

wombatron · 08/12/2018 09:21

Another night, another 1am wake up for feeling nauseous. Sigh.

I'm resigned to never sleeping properly again. Perhaps in 20 years.

Hello to all new people. Hope all have a lovely day!

Onestep2 · 08/12/2018 09:22

@jq28 it will be belly. I had one last week at 9+5 and was able to see baby clearly and the heartbeat and everything!
