Good news re scan bubble!

GiGi - morning! I am hiding from the world which sounds sensible looking at the weather! Work is so busy and I'm so exhausted - I can't tell anyone why so I'm just sat here being grumpy and counting down my hours till my scan and then home time!

GiGi18 · 07/12/2018 10:11

@wombatron What a shame, I know how you feel. Will be so much better when we can tell people. I have been so annoyed at work this week too. I work for an American company and am lucky to mainly work from home but the downside to that is the norm is to be available most of the time at busy times like now, which I'm just not willing to do at the moment! Not possible when I'm in bed by 8 🤣

wombatron · 07/12/2018 10:21

I went for dinner last night and by 7.30 could barely keep my eyes open. Friend was most disappointed but I just didn't want to stay out past 8pm. I feel bad for not telling but it's too early to risk telling anyone. Plus she's of the opinion that children are the work of the devil so unlikely to be sympathetic!

BirthdayKake · 07/12/2018 12:13

Hope everyone is well. I've been a bit too sick to post as well as having to deal with a few unsympathetic people!

BirthdayKake · 07/12/2018 12:15

8 weeks!

wombatron · 07/12/2018 13:00

Just has my viability scan. I'm measuring at 6+1 so a few days behind. But it seems good and seems to have a decent yolk sac. Corpus Lutem looks good and we have a heartbeat of 114bpm. So a guarded, but happy mumma. May go back again at 10wks to check things out as it was between now and then it unfortunately went wrong last time. Hoping everyone is feeling ok today. And get well soon birthdaykate!

MakeAWhish · 07/12/2018 13:05

Lovely @wombatron ! I'm so excited for our scan on Sunday now! I'll be 7 weeks by lmp but I reckon I'll be more like 6+3 so it's good to know I'll be able to see a heartbeat 💗

Bubble77bee · 07/12/2018 13:11

Great news @wombatron!

TwinkleDay · 07/12/2018 13:29

Argh, I’m getting so frustrated still no call back about my 12 week scan so I rang and it seems they have installed a voice mail... stating call back between the hours of 8 and 4 in the middle of the day!!!

Might as well plan to deliver baby at home by myself at this rate ... I hate this limbo I just want to know everything is ok!!! 😡😡😡

wombatron · 07/12/2018 13:30

Yes @MakeAWhish it's not enough to hear it, but you can see it flickering away! This was my measurements so you can know roughly what to expect!

wombatron · 07/12/2018 13:31

@TwinkleDay that's frustrating!! I plan on delivering this baby at home anyway but I can imagine that's very frustrating to be waiting for!

MakeAWhish · 07/12/2018 13:32

Ah that's brilliant thanks @wombatron ! X

wombatron · 07/12/2018 14:02

She did say you can't always see the heartbeat so don't worry too much if not. When they are this small not everyone is at the same apparently. Good luck for Sunday, will hopefully see good news!

GiGi18 · 07/12/2018 14:30

Great news @wombatron

@BirthdayKake you are looking great, I just feel very flabby 😩

reeny19 · 07/12/2018 15:01

@twinkleday I know the feeling! Heard nothing since I self-referred, and only answer machines if I call the midwifery service at my GP. No idea what I’m supposed to do.

Got a flu jab next week so at least I’ll be in the surgery and can hopefully talk to someone in person about wtf happens next.

TwinkleDay · 07/12/2018 15:14

@reeny19 it’s so frustrating isn’t is! How am I supposed to keep calm and chill if you have to run around and arrange all these appointments yourself? They are not very helpful, tried again and the fluffing answering machine is still on. I was going to tell work today and that would coincide with telling that I need x date of for the scan, but can’t get organised because of them!

Onestep2 · 07/12/2018 15:40

Hey ladies,
For most part o have been pretty laid back about pregnancy. Not too worried or anxious. Had scan last Sunday and everything was fine.

NOW all my symptoms have disappeared. I've no naseua, boobs are not sore, full appetite, loads energy. Not had any bleeding or spotting or cramping. I'm 10+4 and it's worrying me.

I freaking myself out for no reason aren't I? Am I? Could this just be tail end of feeling crappy?

reeny19 · 07/12/2018 16:05

@twinkleday yes it’s soo annoying! I’d rather just call and get it sorted then and there. Don’t really want them ringing me when I’m at work as no one knows yet and don’t want people within earshot. Blush
However I guess on the bright side I’m relatively chill about it atm, no symptoms bugging me, nothing I’m concerned about so far. Although I bet that will change in a few weeks time!

Kentishgal · 07/12/2018 16:09

onestep2 maybe it's the placenta taking over?

TwinkleDay · 07/12/2018 16:21

@onestep2 I feel fine too have done for past 3 weeks... 11 weeks tommorow

I have had my phone on loud all day at work waiting for the call back and fuck all. It’s getting closer to Xmas and I want to know all is ok before then so I can plan and reveal hopefully I’m grtting really mad about it all

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 07/12/2018 16:39

@Onestep2 I'm 10+4 today too and for the first time in ages I haven't had a single symptom today. I'm just really happy to not feel absolutely awful for once - it hadn't even crossed my mind that something might be wrong. I think it's just the placenta taking over as someone else said before. I swear I can feel some "quickening" movements over the last few days. I didn't have this with DD until 16 weeks but I've heard it can happen earlier with a second

@TwinkleDay maybe check online to see if there is an email address? Sometimes voice mailboxes aren't checked regularly

My weekend plans include christmas cookies baking with DD tomorrow (should be fun! Hmm) and christmas dinner with my last NCT group on Sunday. I haven't told them I'm pg yet but it will be fairly obvious pretty quickly if i'm not drinking.

Onestep2 · 07/12/2018 16:42

Thank you... Like I have no reason to think there's anything wrong. Think it might be as I've been so used to feeling so ill my body just doesn't understand!! Just my paranoid baby head. It's first baby so I have nothing to compare it to as in when the morning sickness fades etc!

Just needed a bit of reassurance. ❤ off to stuff my face now with everything I've been missing over the last 3 weeks lol

TwinkleDay · 07/12/2018 16:47

@allthegoodnamesalreadytaken no email address online or given to me last Friday either.

I don’t see why I should have to shell out £90 for a private scan either, how hard is it to book an appointment and why do they need to refer me? I want all my appointments there until 36 weeks then I go over to the other one.

Hello I need a 12 week scan appointment please, ok we have this time does that suit, yes thanks see you then... not all this arsing about this is the first time needing to use the nhs too 😡 pants !!!

Kentishgal · 07/12/2018 16:58

Frustrating for you twinkleday - you do wonder why it cant just be straightforward. I'm already getting anxious about booking in appt next week as want to request to go a hospital other than the usual one which is out of this health trust and just envisaging a battle - you know when you're in the shower and you imagine how the conversation will go in your head ...or is that just me?! If they don't let me then I will think about going private, but I really don't want to go up to London. Urgh and calm and breathe! And my nice midwife I had last time has left so imagining this one to be horrible for some irrational reason!!!

BirthdayKake · 07/12/2018 17:01

Aww. Thanks GiGi. I definitely feel flabby!

Still very strong symptoms there. Feeling sad that Christmas will be almost written off. Oh well.
