@edidxb I'm so so sorry for your loss

StargazyDrifter · 06/12/2018 07:04

edidxb realky sorry to hear this, absolutely dreadful and so unfair. Hope all goes smoothly with your op and that it might be possible to get some answers. Huge hugs.xx

DrEv · 06/12/2018 07:06

Littlechicken- similar situation here. We’d love another child though didn’t want to go through the baby phase again as DH ended up in hospital 2when DD2 was 4 weeks old with a condition partially induced by exhaustion and our 4yo has just started sleeping through. Awful timing for me at work. He’s now excited about the prospect of another child after a very rocky first weekend though we’re cautious due to my age (42). The Irish systems are different. Hope that things get better for you both soon.
Booking in basically involves taking your medical history and a bit about family history reinherited conditions and checking you’re not related. They also ask where you’d like to give birth, assess whether you’ll need extra support during pregnancy / after birth, check a wee sample and take blood. If you’ve given birth before they check obstetric history.

TwinkleDay · 06/12/2018 07:18

@edidxb my thoughts are with you! :( such a sad time of year for this to be all happening too xx

Makes me worried all over again as I have had no more symptoms over the past 3 weeks really just hungry and tired..

Twistering · 06/12/2018 07:39

@eddiexb so sorry to hear this, thinking of you. Hope it goes as well as can tomorrow and you can throw yourself into the festivities and start afresh in the new year. I had exactly the same one year (confirmed week before Xmas) and while it was hugely tinged with sadness and what could have been, friends and family (and wine and pate and cheese!) really helped xx you will get your time.

RooKangaroo · 06/12/2018 07:55

Oh, @edidxb, I'm so sorry. That must have been such a blow. It's so unfair.

I hope the surgery and recovery are quick, and you get support from friends and family x

Softkitty28 · 06/12/2018 08:08

@LittleChicken11 sorry I didn’t see your post last night - I am in Belfast too. Things do seem to work a bit differently here - I made an appointment with my GP when I was 6 weeks, he checked a few things like blood pressure etc and then has referred me on to the hospital for my scan. I am booked for 12+2 and at that appointment I will meet the midwife for the first time.

@Stargazydrifter thankfully no more brown bleeding since that one day, so hoping all is well. I’ve my private scan later today.

@eddiexb I am so sorry for your loss, thinking of you x

vixy1988 · 06/12/2018 08:34

@Softkitty28 good luck with your scan later. Please let me know how you get on. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and had the same as you when I wiped but it was only once thank god.

Delilah7 · 06/12/2018 08:43

@edidxb sending you lots of love xxxxxx

Kentishgal · 06/12/2018 08:55

Really sorry to hear this edidxb - look after yourself.

wombatron · 06/12/2018 09:35

So sorry @edidxb wishing you lots of luck for the future. Am so sorry to see your news

TheScaredyKat · 06/12/2018 10:01

So sorry @edidxb what horrible news. Hope you've got your family and friends around to look after you x x x

cathyj87 · 06/12/2018 10:31

@ittlechicken11 I'm in NI too, went to GP at 5 or 6 weeks and he didn't even go as far as taking blood pressure, just referred me to the Ulster so my first appointment will be at 12+2 on the 27th. The appointment letter said it'll take around 2 hours so I guess that's when they'll take all the info, blood, urine sample and scan. It does feel like a very long wait doesn't it! So much so that I paid for an early scan!

GiGi18 · 06/12/2018 11:18

So sorry to hear of your loss @edidxb xx

Softkitty28 · 06/12/2018 12:50

@vixy1988 thanks will let you know, it’s not until 7pm so I’m counting the hours!

wombatron · 06/12/2018 14:30

Good luck softkitty! Mine is tomorrow so am trying to keep calm and chill about it 😂

Chinks123 · 06/12/2018 15:36

Sat waiting for my early scan, they’re running late and I’m suddenly really nervous for some reason! Please keep everything crossed for me x

RooKangaroo · 06/12/2018 15:41

Thinking about you @Chinks123! Hope it all goes well! x

Chinks123 · 06/12/2018 16:07

Thankyou very much @RooKangaroo

Quite weird news, I thought I was 7 weeks+3 and the scans just dated me at 5 and a half weeks..I panicked and thought she meant the baby had stopped growing. But she said it’s a perfectly healthy pregnancy I’m just a lot earlier than I thought. She explained it the best she could, I’m still quite confused though to be honest..

GiGi18 · 06/12/2018 16:39

@Chinks123 is she maybe going by ovulation date rather than LMP?

Chinks123 · 06/12/2018 16:47

@GiGi18 she just said the pregnancy measured 5 and a half weeks, I saw it on the screen and she said it could be I’ve ovulated late and that LMP is not always accurate...to be honest I don’t really know Sad

Squ1ggle · 06/12/2018 16:48

@Chinks123 that is quite confusing but if she says it's a healthy pregnancy then that's good news.
We have caved and booked a private early scan for tomorrow, keeping everything crossed

Chinks123 · 06/12/2018 16:54

Thanks @Squ1ggle, I know I just don’t get how the dates match I suppose. I’m due back in 2 weeks for a free scan so I’ll just have to pray and wait! Good luck for tomorrow!

StargazyDrifter · 06/12/2018 16:55

Chinks that's still good news! I got put back by over a week because of irregular cycles. It's not an exact science. Great it's healthy, in the right place, etc.

Chinks123 · 06/12/2018 16:58

Oh that’s good to hear @StargazyDrifter. Google is full of bad news..and I think I’m just gutted there’s more chance of it going wrong now I’m earlier than I thought. But yes you’re right I should be positive.
