Hey ladies,

Got some fab news. Had a private reassurance scan today. Baby is cooking away perfectly. Measuring in at 9+5 rather than 9+1 as I thought. Seen strong heartbeat on screen and even saw baby wriggle about and stretch out and lift hands up as if to wave. ❤ got some fab pics too 😂 defo makes all this spewing worthwhile x

BirthdayKake · 02/12/2018 13:14

onestep that's amazing!! Could we see pics?!

Onestep2 · 02/12/2018 13:38

If everyone want to see pics im more than happy to send them 😊

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/12/2018 13:38

Haha @twinkleday we're also trying to keep it a secret too ! I'm only 6 weeks though so it's not too difficult right now, but I'm going to my mum's for dinner later and all my siblings etc will be there so it's hard to keep quiet ! I made some cute Xmas baubles we're going to give them the weekend before Xmas as we won't see them Xmas day

Onestep2 Amazing news! Cheered me up no end as it took me over an hour to eat my lunch and, even then, I only managed a quarter. 😓

Do please share the pics if you're comfortable with that, always lovely to see.

Is it just me or does mental sharpness take a bit of a hit in the first trimester? Everything I do work-wise is taking me forever and I feel I'm constantly behind and floundering. Big week next week and I feel like I'm sinking. All I can do today is camp out on the sofa.

StargazyDrifter · 02/12/2018 16:03

Regina that is v cute btw! 😊

reeny19 · 02/12/2018 16:07

Hello ladies, mind if I join?

I’m 29, 6 weeks today, first baby, feeling pretty scared and have no idea what to expect. No symptoms yet other than sore boobs, the occasional mild cramp and a mild twinge of sickness today which lasted about 2 seconds.

Only person who knows about it atm is DH, not had the guts to tell any other family yet. Blush haven’t contacted the GP yet, I feel totally disorganised!

Anyway, it would be nice to chat to others at around the same stage as me. And most of you are further ahead than me so I can see what lies ahead Grin

AIDE2424 · 02/12/2018 16:22

I’ve had to tell family already for one reason or another ideally would have kept it a secret untill Christmas, but my dad works away and isn’t home till Boxing Day and didn’t wanna tell my other family face to face and my dad find out over the phone and I’m glad they knew due to my extended stay in the EPU at least they found out before in a nice way rather then finding out due to me been in hospital. We told them with this baby grow and a pair of booties 😍

I dunno what's happening lol I've tried to upload photo twice and it says success but then nothing posted 🤔

Onestep2 · 02/12/2018 16:35

Oh and I can't remember who was mentioning a pain when they sneeze but I've been getting that same pain everytime I sneeze and cough hard so I think it's pretty normal!!

vixy1988 · 02/12/2018 16:35

Hi all,

I'm 6 weeks 2 days today. First pregnancy- really sore boobs, have had to buy new bras and lots of moments where I feel I'm going to throw up but cannot manage it!

My dilemma:

6 Dec: Christmas dinner and drinks with the girls (I can get out of this by driving)

8 Dec: husbands work do.... free wine on the table etc and they all know I like a drink.

15 December- my worst!! I turn 30 and have a party planned for 80 people. How do I get out of that.

My other dilemma is we had booked a trip to Sri Lanka for my brothers wedding on jan 4. We were due to fly on the day before NyE- we have cancelled it and lost £1700 - however, we are going to have to tell my brother on the 23rd December when we see him. Gutted because we still feel this is too early!

wombatron · 02/12/2018 16:40

@vixy1988 I am very good at taking a few sips and putting my glass down, then losing it and doing the same. I'm also known for liking a drink so am getting quite good at swanning around and leaving them places.

Is there any reason why you've cancelled your travel?

wombatron · 02/12/2018 16:42

And to be honest, I think the only way your brother would understand is if you tell him. If it was a normal holiday then yes, but a wedding will no doubt hurt. It's a tough call!

vixy1988 · 02/12/2018 16:46

@wombatron - yes cancelled on the advice of doctor- the malaria risk !

We will tell them when we see them for brunch on the 23rd- I know he will understand as no other members of our family are going (they don't fly etc) and they said they completely understood if people couldn't make it.

ConfusedConfused

wombatron · 02/12/2018 16:54

Ah fair enough, I thought they did malaria vaccinations which help reduce risk. We booked a holiday for July next year which if things go well we won't be making. We feel a little gutted (booked a week before we found out), though obviously happy. Can only imagine what it feels like when there's a wedding involved!

reeny19 · 02/12/2018 17:00

It’s a shame you’ll miss the wedding, but I’m sure he’ll understand. It’s a legitimate excuse!

Speaking of travel, is anyone going away before July? We were thinking of a last minute holiday before it all kicks off... just not sure when would be the best time.

Twistering · 02/12/2018 17:01

@Roo get yourself to docs tomorrow/call them. If it ends up being HG there is stuff they can give you but need to fight for it (friend had it twice, can take a while to be taken seriously).

@Onestep yey! Great news!

Welcome newbies and Sunday love to rest of you.

Twistering · 02/12/2018 17:02

@hayleyfx any news?

hayleyfx · 02/12/2018 17:13

Hi ladies, thanks for all the support I’ve had on this thread. About 10 minutes I started to bleed heavily and have contraction like pains. Bleeding has calmed down again but I’m sure I’ll miscarry tonight. I’ve done this many times before so at least I know what to expect!
Had the blood test today, results still not in but I don’t need them now. It’s exactly what all my precious miscarriages felt like, these pains. So that’s pregnancy loss #5 for me sadly in the space of 1 year. I’ve learnt how to cope and move on so I feel okay. Hopefully I’ll have my rainbow one day.

I want to thank you all again for your support and I wish you all very healthy and happy pregnancies xxx

vixy1988 · 02/12/2018 17:16

@wombatron also I couldn't have the "live" typhoid injection. Sucks but in the scheme of things it isn't the end of the world.Smile

wombatron · 02/12/2018 17:20

@hayleyfx sorry to hear your news. I've been checking back since 1pm to see if you'd updated. I hope it's not bad news and that it's just a scare

Chinks123 · 02/12/2018 17:29

@reeny19 we’ve got 3 holidays booked before July Blush but thankfully they’re all short flights, all short city breaks and 3 days long a piece. December/February and March, so as it is we should be able to do them all.

@hayleyfx I’m so sorry, I’m still praying for good news for you. But if the worst happens I really hope you’re okay and get your wish soon.

TwinkleDay · 02/12/2018 17:36

@Onestep2 congratulations with the cooking and the little wave you got that is lovely! X

@reginaphalange89 that bauble is lovely! I have got a handmade pebble art planned to make for grandparents reveal to be, with pebble penguins and baby egg and felt in a 3d frame, just going to get past the first scan before we get too carried away.

@vixy88 if your turning 30 that’s going to be pretty hard to not drink! Why don’t you announce it all then ? That would be nice with everyone there!

StargazyDrifter · 02/12/2018 17:41

Welcome new people.

AIDE2424 that's a very cute way to let people know. 😊

hayleyfx so very sorry to hear your news. I know that routine all too well myself. 😓 There's still a tiny chance with it all, see what they say tomorrow, though completely understand all thoughts point to another loss. Keeping everything crossed for you and sending enormous hugs.xx

Holiday-wise, feel so sick at the moment I'd rather not, but something short-haul in the second trimester would be nice. Cancelled a trip to the Caribbean because of zika, tiny risk yes, but not one we want to take.
