How many weeks did people have their early scans? Due to anxiety I've bought mine forward to tomorrow where I'll be 7 weeks. Should there be a heartbeat at 7 weeks? xx

Onestep2 · 30/11/2018 09:07

Good luck for scans today!

Also ladies I have found a cute for morning sickness..... ice lollies. Fruit pastel ice Lollies... worked like an absolute treat for me last night!!

Chinks123 · 30/11/2018 09:09

@MrsC87 with my last I had it at 8weeks+2, and next week I am going for my first scan in this pregnancy. I will be 7weeks+3. Yes you would expect to see the heartbeat at this stage, that’s why I’ve booked mine just for peace of mind. Hope it all goes well for you x

StargazyDrifter · 30/11/2018 09:10

Had my early scan at 7w, re-dates to 6+5, heartbeat of 138bpm. Some of it will depend on how sure you are of your dates. GP advised to leave it 8 weeks to be sure of a heart beat, but I couldn't hold out that long!

Chinks123 · 30/11/2018 09:15

I can’t wait that long either! I know the scans are a bit clearer past 8 weeks but I just booked it on impulse for next week.

MrsC87 · 30/11/2018 09:15

@StargazyDrifter @Chinks123 thanks ladies. I'm pretty sure my dates are accurate as have regular periods etc.
Fingers Crossed for tomorrow 🤞

Twistering · 30/11/2018 09:16

Had a totally mental work day yesterday so catching up. Gutted to see some of the news.

@TwittleBee so, so sorry didn’t turn out how we all hoped. You’ve been amazing in on here and we’ll miss you.
@BettySwoll0cks same goes... thinking of you as this is utter shit. Hope both of you have lots of support and get through as best you can. Other people have offered but same from me, if need any advice, please holler. ERPC was by far best choice for me, having done it all, but only you know what is right for you. Huge love and Twittle, really hope you stop feeling shit physically soon too xxxx

@AIDE2424 and @hayleyfx fingers crossed!!

Sorry if I’ve missed anything!!

RooKangaroo · 30/11/2018 09:25

Thanks @StargazyDrifter, @Belmo, and @Delilah7. Will definitely explore anti-sickness meds 👍

RooKangaroo · 30/11/2018 09:26

Thinking of you, @AIDE2424 x

Twistering · 30/11/2018 09:46

Oh and yey @Belmo! 😊

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 09:49

@AIDE2424 got my fingers crossed for you. I hope your scan went well. I’m feeling the same, absolutely sick with worry 🤞

Thanks everyone, I’m just so scared! It’s still early days so not much to see but I hope I see a heartbeat. Hope I can update with some good news today!

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 09:50

@Belmo congrats!! Lovely news x

Kentishgal · 30/11/2018 10:06

Hello, just been for my scan, all good, measuring 6w5d which is bang on, and there was a heartbeat. Such a relief.

AIDE2424 · 30/11/2018 10:18

Scan went well! Baby pip is safely in my womb so ectopic is ruled out, the pain I had was a cyst that burst! They could see the gestational sac and the yolk sac back on the 14th to check all okay still and baby had develop but for now I’m smiling!

Thankyou everyone for keeping me sane 💕

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 10:34

@AIDE2424 lovely news, what a relief for you! X

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 10:35

@Kentishgal sorry I missed you!! Congrats, that’s brilliant 😊 x

MakeAWhish · 30/11/2018 10:42

@AIDE2424 and @Kentishgal Yippee! Wonderful news, so pleased. My scan is next Sunday when I'll be 7 weeks by lmp but due to longer cycles I reckon I'll only be 6w3d so hope I'll see a heartbeat then x

StargazyDrifter · 30/11/2018 10:48

Lovely news AIDE2424 and Kengishgal! Just lovely. 😊

Roo do watch out about the tablets making you drowsy. I experimented over a weekend first before taking them at work and they knocked me out a bit. Gets better as you take more. Just don't take them for the first time before something really important iyswim! Hope you feel better soon.

Kentishgal · 30/11/2018 10:49

Thank you, and no obvious sign of where bleed came from so fingers crossed. Excellent news AIDE! EDD put back till 21 July.

RooKangaroo · 30/11/2018 11:04

Great news, @Kentishgal and @AIDE2424!

SnailorSwift · 30/11/2018 11:27

@StargazyDrifter my understanding of birth reflections was the same idea of chatting things through after a traumatic birth.

But perhaps the midwife who runs the birth reflections clinic is the best person to chat to you about your concerns so they've just popped you in during that clinic?! Definitely call before hand though as you say and go prepared.

@AIDE2424, @Kentishgal and @Belmo I'm so happy for you all. Lovely lovely news 💕

@Onestep2 think there's a couple of us here living on ice lollies!!!

I'm so glad it's Friday! Can not wait for a couple of quiet days. My line manager and as of yesterday her manager now know and it's definitely taken the pressure off a bit! My manager has been fab so far.

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 12:29

Don’t really know what to think at the moment, didn’t get good or necessarily bad news. More waiting. Ultrasound tech first did an abdominal scan and saw a sac measuring 6 weeks (which is about right) and a yolk sac but couldn’t see a fetus, she thought she did but couldn’t be sure.
Then she did a transvaginal one and saw a sac measuring 5 and a half weeks, no yolk sac this time. So she sent me to EPU to have bloods done, will be back on Sunday for more. She said it may just be too early but if the hcg hasn’t gone up then it’s an empty sac. If it has, then it was just too early to see baby. She reassured me and said she was just being extra careful but I have a bad feeling about this.
Right now I’m feeling like nothing like I’m not optimistic or pessimistic. Just nothing. I’m used to this happening. I reckon there should be a baby or something at 6 weeks but I’m no expert I guess. We’ll see. I hope this isn’t miscarriage #5...

This weekend is going to be hellish waiting!

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 12:53

Blood has been taken will get hcg level in a few hours and back on Sunday for repeat bloods. They said the main thing they want to rule out right now is ectopic. Very very nervous.

hayleyfx · 30/11/2018 12:59

Me again 😂 the gestational sac was measuring 4mm - does anyone know how many weeks this is equal to?

Chinks123 · 30/11/2018 13:14

Sorry you’re going through this @hayleyfx, really hoping you get good news! Just to answer your question, google says a 4mm gestational sac equates to a 4week+4 day pregnancy. I have no idea though, and since your op said she found a sac measuring 6 weeks I don’t know. Hopefully someone will be along with a better answer but just wanted to say I’m keeping everything crossed for you! X
