The old thread got closed at 1000 posts, I'm not sure why. So I've started this new one. I hope you all find it ok. @Swisbest2 @OneMoreWish @frankiefumbles @Kisses4u @hayleyfx @Maydot @Jessabean

@junex88 organised cupboards sounds excellent. It's on my job list.
How did the skirting go?
@pancakes7 my gosh that sounds so painful. I hope the psyhio works it's magic. How is your DIY going?
I've booked the decorator to redo feature walls in our bedroom and the nursery for about a months time so need to sort out the junk currently in the nursery so it's all nice and clear. We're going to the baby show on Friday so hoping to tick off most purchases that day. xxx

xJune88 · 23/02/2019 21:12

The skirtings haven't happened haha. Hubby tried but isn't very diy the angle cutting tool thing we have is too small to do skirtings so need to get a bigger mitre saw or kit. We tried haha. Painting is all done starting to stress now and think we should just pay somebody to help us! Xx

dreaminofholidays · 24/02/2019 08:52

@junex88 there's still plenty of time 😊 but agree some jobs it's just better to get people in for. Like the wallpapering, DH decided he could do it and we could save money. Bless him he's never picked up a paintbrush before, I usually do our DIY so just had to talk him down 😂.
I know wallpaper is beyond me, haven't got the patience for lining everything up.

Met a friend in London yesterday and didn't have to rush back so decided to wonder round the shops because I'm not going to get the chance to do this often once the baby is here. Was fun for a bit then I was like oh god I'm shattered and my feet hurt. The joys of the 3rd trimester. 😊Crazy how so much has changed already even before the baby arrives. How is everyone feeling? xxx

2018isanewyear · 24/02/2019 10:35

Wonder if I can join? I'm currently 7 weeks with my second pregnancy hopefully first baby. I had a miscarriage last year and will hopefully be expecting the new arrival a year and a week from my first EED. It's all very surreal and I feel so anxious that something is going to go wrong.

I have booked an early scan for 9+6 and already
Doubting if it's a good idea? (My last pregnancy I saw a heartbeat at 6+6 and still went on to miscarry at 8 weeks)

Sorry for the ramble

xJune88 · 24/02/2019 11:50

Welcome @2018isanewyear we all know how you feel it's awful not to be able to relax or enjoy pregnancy. I found early scans very reassuring even though id had 2 previous losses seeing heartbeats up to 10 weeks and they'd still disappeared at a later date. I'm now 29 weeks pregnant and finally starting to feel ok, weirdly this has been my hardest pregnancy (major bleeds with clots from 9 weeks till 15 i had an extra chronicic hemorrage next to baby but that's gone now) I still have major anxiety about movements and if she comes early. Congratulations and welcome the group is lovely xx

Pancakes7 · 24/02/2019 17:10

@dreaminofholidays Yeah, its painful and uncomfortable. Just been to Asda which was a challenge. Now feeling worse so having a nap. DIY is getting there slowly. My poor DH is doing it all. So it's taking time but, hoping to start painting our bedroom today. It needed skimming and then alot of prep work. I hope you're well.

Hello everyone,

2018 - it's really hard to relax when you've had a loss before. I had my scan last week just to rule out an ectopic as I've had one before, have you got long to wait till your scan? I don't know where you're based, but some EPAU's allow you to self refer. So you might be able to get the scan quicker, plus bloods if needed.

I had my scan last week, I'm 8+4 I think. They ran through some questions to see if I needed blood thinners. I think it's a new protocol after loss to try and help in every way possible. I've got another scan at 10 weeks, I think that might be peace of mind plus dating scan.

I hope and pray baby behaves themselves.

The best thing you can do is try and keep busy, which is easier said than done. I do feel less anxious after last weeks scan, so maybe it would help you a bit. You can google local hospitals & speak to the EPAU or GAU, they should be able to help.

2018isanewyear · 28/02/2019 07:52

Hi, I have booked a private scan for 10 weeks which is 2 weeks Saturday. I was told I couldnt have bloods or scan on nhs as I have only had one miscarriage. I'm hoping by then if all is well I will relax a little
More.

Had usual bloods after midwife booking in and now have had a call to make
A routine appointment to discuss with doctor. I called midwife and she said it quite normal and nothing to worry about but of course I am. Anyone had this before and it been something simple?

Maydot · 05/03/2019 08:51

Hi ladies! How you all getting on?
I’m 36 weeks today, can hardly believe it! Only 2 weeks left at work and we’re pretty much ready for the babies arrival!!
I’m starting to get a bit anxious! xx

xJune88 · 05/03/2019 12:16

@maydot wow! Not long at all. I've just hit single figures 9 weeks 6 days haha I'm so excited. Nursery is starting to come together nicely and not much left to buy at all. Apart from not sleeping I feel great. @2018isanewyear I haven't had that I got q phone call just to go for iron tablets but that was it. Try not to worry though xx

dreaminofholidays · 05/03/2019 20:51

@maydot wow, 36 weeks, won't be long now, you're an absolute trooper for working up to 38 weeks.

@junex88 single figures for you too!

You two are so prepared. I'm still a million miles off but I did order the pram today. yay!
I stupidly thought I could get everything ordered at the baby show. We were there all day and got no where near and the nursery furniture has an 8 week lead time. Man I need to be more organised in future!

xx xx

Pancakes7 · 06/03/2019 14:12

@Maydot Wow 36 weeks! Exciting!

I'm 29 weeks and 2 days. Booked an extra week holiday so got 9 weeks left of work, including this week.

I have PGP, so been in quite a bit og pain/discomfort. Saw a physio Monday, got a support belt and crutches. But mainly need to just rest and avoid too much sitting, walking, lifting etc. Today I'm actually feeling better, as I've rested alot over the weekend and in the evenings after work. My Mum came and helped with housework and DH has been amazing looking after me and decorating our house. I'm mostly ready for baby now. Just need baby monitor, baby bath and a few toys. But have my baby shower on 6th April. So may get bits then. Packed hospital bag and wrote birth plan last night. I'm planning to use a birth pool now to help with PGP.

How are you all getting on? I can't wait for the start of birth announcements. 💙

So had my doctors appointment today to discuss blood test results and he said I was called back in to let me know I was pregnant 🙄 also had low white blood cels but apparently nothing to worry about so feeling very relieved. Got my scan date through too which is 1st April so excited/nervous, we will have had a private scan by then so hopefully that should make me
Less anxious. It's so exciting seeing everyone discussing later pregnancy 🥰

dreaminofholidays · 07/03/2019 08:28

@2018isanewyear glad all is ok with your results. How are you feeling?
When is your private scan? I had a couple of extra ones early one as I was feeling anxious. I think you have to do whatever it takes to feel better.

I have my first growth scan on Monday. Starting to get jitters and wishing it was closer.

@pancakes7 sounds like you are in alot of pain. Is it a hip issue? sorry don't know the acronym.

I haven't been sick for a couple of days now. Hoping that could mean the morning sickness is finally lifting. yay! xxx

2018isanewyear · 07/03/2019 08:32

I'm feeling ok Thankyou. My sickness seems to have mellowed which I was panicking about but DH reminded me midwife said it doesn't mean anything bad is happening. Scan is a week tomorrow and I'll be a day off ten weeks then which all being well will help me relax a bit just hope everything will be ok : ) xx

Pancakes7 · 07/03/2019 10:03

@dreaminofholidays Aw you poor thing, still getting morning sickness. I hope it eases soon. Yeah PGP stands for pelvic girdle pain. It is all of your pelvis including hips, back etc. Very frustrating as I can't do things myself or get around easily.
@2018isanewyear I'm glad your blood results are all ok. Countdown to your scan. I was only sick a few times mostly just felt nauseous all the time. So no doesn't mean anything if it mellows. Just enjoy the break.

Got any boy name ideas? DH isn't sure on our name now... feeling stressed not having a name. Only 10 weeks left.

OP posts:
kisses4u · 11/03/2019 09:47

Hey everyone! Sorry for the prolonged absence! I've been struggling with work and a very testing toddler. Never get a break! Aaagh!

Wow @Maydot 36 weeks!!! You all ready with your birth plan and hospital bag?
Where is everyone else at? I know @Pancakes7 and @dreaminofholidays the three of us are pretty much same? I'm 30+2 today. Feeling so big now! Much larger than i was with my son! I guess second time you just are!

I'm taking some advice from the doctors today re. Work. I'm also struggling with pgp like you @Pancakes7 although I'm waddling to counter balance which seems to stop the pain when walking. It's the long 13 hour shifts where I really feel it, plus sleeping is troublesome. I've added two memory foam toppers to my bed which helps reduce the number of times I'm having to roll over in the night. Have you got some memory foam @Pancakes7 ? My mattress already has a built in one so I'm actually on 3 layers!

How's everyone else doing? Did we ever talk about setting up a fb group? Is anyone doing NCT? How's that going?

kisses4u · 11/03/2019 10:29

Ps. @Pancakes7 we don't have a solid name yet either. dH still doesn't know we are having a girl! I've suggested talking about names once baby is here, although I'm set on Josephine still and dH has said he is convinced we are having a boy 😆

2018isanewyear · 11/03/2019 12:03

Hi ladies, my first scan is Saturday I will be hopefully 9+6 and I'm so nervous/anxious! any tips on remaining positive? I have no reason to think anything bad is happening/happened I just have such a fear of MMC (haven't had one before) last time we had an early scan all was fine however it still ended in miscarriage although I was only 6+3 then.

Sorry for the ramble, DH is just as anxious as me (if not worse) and I don't want to make him stress if I say I'm anxious he will assume I think something bad has happened

Pancakes7 · 11/03/2019 12:04

@Kisses4u our mattress has a memory foam layer on the top. Yes I did mention Facebook group but I don't think anyone replied on that. But I'm up for doing one? Yes I'm similar to you, I'm 30 weeks today. It's getting real!! Lol. I can't wait to finish work. I have 8 weeks left. But I've booked 3 days off randomly to have shorter weeks. I am doing NCT. It starts 27th March. Are you going?

OP posts:
xJune88 · 11/03/2019 12:32

Im not on Facebook. Im 31 weeks today also struggling to sleep and just exhausted at work. 4 weeks on Friday!! We've picked a name too and nursery is painted and papered and furniture built. Going to do hospital bag this weekend just in case and wanted to do courses but life has just been manic and now I'm worried I've left it too late. Considering doing the positive birth company thing online though. @2018isanewyear no advice I'm afraid I also really struggled with every scan in this pregnancy even my 28 week 4d one I thought something would be wrong. I now worry about movements instead 🤦🏼‍♀️ just try to keep relaxed/baths/keep busy I'm sure all will be ok xx

Maydot · 11/03/2019 13:11

Hi everyone, I decided to take Annual leave this week, my hips and pelvis have given up!! So that’s me done at work til May next year!!!!
I’ve started my hospital bag, still got a few bits to get so that’s going to be my job for tomorrow and we’re going to look round the labour and birth centres at the hospital tonight so i’m Going to do my birth plan after that.
@kisses4u I’ve done the NCT course, met a fantastic bunch of girls and we’re constantly messaging each other and been meeting for lunch every week so I definitely found it worth while!!.... Also learnt quite a lot about labour, pain relief and breast feeding so I feel much better prepared!
@Pancakes7 we still have no idea on a name for our little girl, I think she’s going to be nameless for a few days after she arrives! 🙈

Pancakes7 · 11/03/2019 13:49

I've done birth plan and hospital bag is pretty much done. I just need to get a baggy nightie for labour. Also need to wash baby clothes. I'm waiting till we are in our bedroom again and babies room is done. Our bedroom is nearly finished, so babies room should start at the weekend. Really excited for that being done! I can't wait to organise all his bits.

Pancakes7 · 11/03/2019 14:06

@Maydot good idea to take holiday. The pelvis pain is awful isn't it? I feel so useless and embarrassed on my crutches. But all will be worth it. I've got 2 weeks holiday before my due date. Also booked random days off to mean I only have 3 full 5 day weeks left. But 5 weeks at 4 days including Easter.
