My BH feel like the baby is doing a somersault but I know she isn't IYSWIM. It aches slightly too like period pain. I hate them!!

Boobs have stopped leaking

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/06/2007 15:43

HIWBB, the more I read the title of this thread, the more I like it and it makes me chuckle lol!

Edie, glad your boobs have stopped leaking! Hope you're having a good weekend?

I've had a really awful night - was up till 4am in the end and then still got up every hour after that for a wee and my hips were killing me. Ended up taking some painkillers and wailing at DH "I know it'll all be worth it in the end but I just can't cope!!!". Feeling a bit better now but have soooo much to do around the house!

Wow, its quiet around here at the weekends!

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 15:57

I'm here!!!! I'm at boring old work all weekend, so I'm going to be reading every ancient thread going back as far as I can to entertain myself!!

Poor plp - sorry to hear your hips are hurting so much. I had an up and down night too... sod doing anything around the house, how about a warm bath? That might help your hips.

I've got to tell you a funny story... I just went up to the tea bar to get a cuppa, and bumped in to someone I haven't seen in a while but who knew I was pregnant. He said "congratulations on the baby, how old is it?" I thought he just had his terminology wrong, so I said "six months" then he said "so what did you have?" Cue stunned silence from me for a minute, then "I haven't had it yet, blimey I won't be this fat when the baby's six months old!" he blushed profusely and said he hadn't looked at my tummy and hadn't noticed! Oh how I laughed! I tortured him some more by making polite small talk for a bit but I could tell he was desperate to get away! hahahaha! I'm not sure if I should be flattered (ie that I have the mythical "neat" bump) or insulted. I think the former, cos it was so funny to see him blush!

Now, back to that cuppa....

Have a good weekend everyone xx

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/06/2007 16:18

Hello MrsMar, poor you working!

I sympathise about that bloke - six months after I had DD1, one of my exhusbands friends commented at a party that he didn't know I was pregnant again and how lovely it was! I was mortified!!! I know it was only 6 months after having had her but I knew I didn't look that pregnant! Needless to say, he didn't know what to do with himself!

I've done quite a bit of housework but not too much and I'm just waiting for some washing to dry so I've got something to wear. Two of my friends have invited me round tonight as they want to pamper me bless them! Looking forward to chilling out with them and wondering what they've got in mind!!??

Hopeitwontbebig · 23/06/2007 16:20

Purple re thread title!! Hope you have a better night's sleep tonight, it's not fun for you.

MrsMar, like you say, think of the end result... be strong!! Funny comment in the tea shop, normally it's the other way round.. ie when's it due.... um I've already had it!!

Kinki, hope you do get your maternity pay sorted. It's sounding hopeful. Did you have a nice time last night?

Canadianmum, not trying to scare you or anything, but.... when I had a growth scan with DS2 his femur was above average and he ended up BIG!!!!

Sophus, PMSL at that photo.. brilliant!!!

Who wants to hear what happened yesterday when the naughty Jack Russell arrived???????

Well, said Jack Russell is ALSO a very very pampered pooch. FIL treats him like a baby... really, it's vomit inducing to watch. He is VERY protective over him.

So yesterday PILs arrive, and we suggest allowing the dogs to greet each other in the garden and sort out their pecking order etc. Inevitably the Jack Russell snarls at the Boxer, so the Boxer snarls back a bit. At which point FIL flies into a blind panic and launches himself between them and ends up on the floor in the mud!

A few minutes later, I'm in the kitchen explaining to FIL that they just need to sort it out themselves, and that the dogs are picking up on his anxiety and he needs to relax.

No sooner had I said this, FIL walks into the hallway, carrying a freshly made cup of tea, the Boxer looks like he is going to jump up a bit.....................................

SO HE THROWS HIS HOT CUP OF TEA OVER HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGG

THIS, all in the space of 15 minutes.

FIL then announces that he is going to drive home there and then (they live 3 hrs away) because this Boxer is dangerous and his precious pooch wouldn't attack etc! We then explained that actually his dog is the nasty one and has bitten our lovely Golden Retriever on the ear before. Me and MIL managed to persuade him that the dogs would eventually be fine....... and they were. BUT, everytime he went near the Boxer, the Boxer would growl.

I know he's been a really naughty dog this week, but I do feel really sorry for him now, he does seem quite traumatized.

OP posts:
PurpleLostPrincess · 23/06/2007 16:43

Oh my goodness!!! Sounds like having this dog is truly traumatic for all of you, including the dog now! Remind us when you will be finally relieved of him again?

This one's femur measured small apparently but we were told its nothing to worry about and thinking of DH's family and their build, it kind of makes sense...

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 16:44

HIWBB - I'm sorry but I PMSL at the stand off between dogs and your fil, and then your fil throwing a cup of tea at your friends boxer!!! I would have thought that would enrage an angry dog more Still I think the counselling the dog might need is a small amount of payback for the trauma you've had to put up with this week!

Now as promised, I remembered to bring the leaflet in to work with me that advertised the nesting clean. I should get a commission for this... they're called 4 seasons cleaning and their number is 0800 107 4440. Is this allowed? Am I going to get this thread pulled? I have no idea if they are any good, this is in no way a recommendation, as I've never used them, but I've never seen a nesting clean advertised before!

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/06/2007 16:49

Yay, MrsMar, thank you sooo much, I'm sure you can't get in trouble for that can you? I'll give them a call...

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/06/2007 16:52

Ooops, a bit hasty there, on answermachine! Still thank you anyway - I'll be ringing on Monday for sure!

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 17:28

You're welcome! I can't even begin to think about nesting cleans until my horrible builders are out... If I have to clean up tiling cement from my carpet one more time I'll scream!

kinki · 23/06/2007 17:28

I had a great time last night thanks, hopey. I think I may have finally grown up though, because I can finally see the sense in staying sober. No making a tit of myself, no divulging of embarrassing secrets, no memory blackouts, no staggering home, no throwing up, no hang over and no cringing next day over what was said or done. Its a novel experience for me going out with these girls and not getting wasted (am ashamed to say). I saw some of them at the school fair today and it wasn't pretty. I felt very saintly!

PurpleLostPrincess · 23/06/2007 17:37

Glad you had a good time kinki! I very rarely get wasted these days, in fact I only drink 2 or 3 times a year. I don't see the point of drinking unless its to get drunk and I usually suffer really badly if I do! I'm usully the sober driving one these days, not that I go out much at all. Feels good doesn't it!

laksa · 23/06/2007 17:48

aaaah, I arrived home 15 mins ago and found my dh sanding down a dressing table in my lounge....there is dust everywhere all over the leather sofas and my laptop!! Oh and my electrician still hasn't turned up, you can't get good help these days

laksa · 23/06/2007 17:52

Went shopping today and saw a lovely christening outfit in debenhams which might be perfect for baby when she is a bridesmaid at my sisters wedding in January, it had a lovely little bonnet. I should really wait till she is born, right? Oh its all so tempting...

laksa · 23/06/2007 18:11

Just read through the thread and am pmsl at the tea over the boxer story, HWBB, I feel a bit sorry for him too. Our next door neighbour used to have a jack russell and he was a feisty bugger who scared the postman on a daily basis.

canadianmum · 23/06/2007 18:33

laksa, I am now trying to figure out your message, are you saying that your unborn daughter is going to be a bridesmaid????? Wow, I didn't get to be a bridesmaid for the first time until I was 20 !

Spoke to a mum of three yesterday who told me that at her 20wk and 32wk scans she was told she was having a girl but she actually had a boy. This was 9 years ago. Luckily she had bought all neutral colours but the grandparents ended up taking their mountains of pink stuff back to the shops.....

HIWBB - your dog stories just get better and better, I think you need to write a screenplay .

laksa · 23/06/2007 18:54

I wasn't very clear was I Am a bit mad on sugar today!

Umm, my sis got engaged a couple of weeks ago and has decided to have a jan wedding where she wants me and baby laksa to be bridesmaids. Which means I will end up being fitted just after having given birth which I'm not looking forward to But it is fun looking for frilly outfits for my unborn child

laksa · 23/06/2007 18:55

oh and I have never been a bridesmaid before so am doing it at the grand age of 30!

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 19:00

Aw, laksa, I'll bet you'll look really lovely! I was a bridesmaid for the first time at 21, and I had to wear a sailorsdress type thing FFS!!!! Oh the humiliation! I've never been a bridesmaid since, scarred for life (actually, I haven't been asked!)

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 23/06/2007 19:18

MrsMar - glad you got your leave sorted but still think they're making you jump through hoops...but that's the bbc for ya! are you going to shoot then? v impressive! will you be on crew desk rota? can you edit? always on the look out for good shooter/producers...

FilB - i had a close brush with gest diabetes a few weeks ago and did A LOT of reading. turned out i don't have it but do now have a lot of info without experience. you prob better off talking to people who have been through it but if you do want to chat, shout! i bought and read a few books - so pretty clued up. as others have said, main thing is it's usually temporary and can be managed with diet. what tests have you had and what tests are you expecting next? i had a mini glucose test which was + but i later heard they're v unreliable. the full glucose test came back normal. the reason they tested was i had too much amniotic fluid but that had normalised two weeks later too so DON'T PANIC, even if it is gd, the overwhelming odds are you and your baby will be just fine and dandy.

HIWBB - haven't read all the boxer stories but any dog like a boxer which doesn't get walked will behave badly. bit late now but i'd get him walked by a prof and charge your friends. it's not fair on you or the dog. i'd guess he needs a good hour of running around. just like toddlers, they bahave much worse when they're confined all day and much better when they're physically tired! works for my dog and dd anyway (bit rough on dh and me though!)

i do sympathise with everyone having work done - when i was preg with dd we had entire flat renovated (process started before i knew i was preg and then we pressed on) and only moved in four nights before the birth. i still remember the day before she was born and we had a lithuanian electrician, a british plumber and a polish something else all doing stuff in the kitchen and none of them would talk to each other! they would only communicate through us. i went to lie in a darkened room. and recalling the day the fitters came with very expensive stainless steel once piece counter top still bring me out in a cold sweat. oooh, I feel for you all. One bright thing, you can be as unreasonable and demanding as you like as all workmen put it down to hormones and none of them dare cross you. wish i'd worked that one out earlier!

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 19:23

enormouschanges... I am going out to shoot - hopefully. Without giving away my secret identity I'm already an editor, so I'm sure will do some shoot/editing eventually. Fingers crossed!

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 23/06/2007 19:43

good for you. smart move in 'the current climate'. good luck with it! i won't ask any more questions so your secret id is safe! though i know there are a couple off bbc bods on here and i do wonder when i spot a bump in the tea bar...but i like the whole anonymity thing.

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 19:46

I'm liking the anonymity ! Perhaps I should do like superman and just put on some glasses and then miraculously no one will recognise me!!

Shoot/edit future is something I think is v attactive. I've got my eyes on a lovely job in the South West or somewhere with lots of beautiful countryside

EdieMcredie · 23/06/2007 20:27

PLP Im having a good weekend thankyou!! Hope you are too, and everyone else.

When is everyone packing their hospital bag? Is it too early to do it now at 28 and a half weeks?

MrsMar · 23/06/2007 20:37

I hadn't even thought about it edie... actually that's a bit of a lie because I did see some nightdresses the other day and wondered if they'd be suitable for giving birth in. But apart from that... nothing
