Starting a new thread as we near the 1000 comment mark on the Part 2 one!

It is nearly December and I am sure all we want for Xmas are healthy pregnancies and babies Star

Good luck to everyone still here and so sorry for how many we have already lost on the way Flowers

God I hate non wired bras ! They look so granny-ish and give absolutely no support at all if you've got big boobs ! I wore wired bras for my whole pregnancy last time but bought non wired nursing bras for breast feeding. They're so awful lol. Mine are 36G without pregnancy! 🙈 Impossible for them to look good in non wired lol

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 22:24

Laburna That's outrageous about your sister! How cruel. Thanks for setting all this out, makes a lot of sense. I also much prefer underwire, perhaps some of it is what feels 'normal' in an otherwise constantly changing situation? Or maybe underwire does give that much more support after all. I like a fuller cup to stop bounciness too. I'm only 32DD so not that massive in the grand scheme of things. It's closer to an E now though. And still hurting a lot, especially if I've been still for a bit like watching TV or napping.

Laburna · 24/11/2018 22:29

We told some friends tonight, to ask if they could look after DS for our 12 week scan so DH could come with me. Didn't want to ask my mum for various reasons.

Starting to panic already that there will be a problem and we'll have to then tell them we have lost the baby, they were so excited for us. They've got 2 little girls and the age difference would be about the same. They've always been really nice and reassuring as they went through the whole IUGR/preemie baby thing with their first too. Would hate to have to tell them we aren't pregnant any more :(

Laburna · 24/11/2018 22:32

I actually ended up splashing out on some molded cup underwired nursing bras. It was the best thing, EVER! I was so uncomfortable in my skin after the birth with the extra weight and stress of the baby, and they actually made me feel so much better! Will definitely be getting them again! I'm a 28GG without pregnancy, so underwired full cups are needed! 😂

Toria73 · 24/11/2018 22:33

Thanks all, so glad I can avoid non-wired bras. At the moment I'm really sore & uncomfortable when I have no support at all, even standing in the shower hurts just now.
@Regina I totally agree with you re how unattractive non wired look. I look approx 2 stone heavier when wearing my sleep bras.

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 22:35

Ow Laburna, completely get this. They sound lovely, btw. Involving other people at this stage is tricky but hard not to! You know all the science and stats - more likely to be all good than anything else. But the worry is still there. We're over half way though!

I have it too. Convinced myself today that there is club foot in the family and now this is playing on my mind. Can't ask the people who'd know, and yes it's completely treatable, but the spiteful monkey in my head just keeps going. 🐒

Toria73 · 24/11/2018 22:38

@laburna those melded mat bras sound good, I take it the support is much better than non-wired?

My dad told me last week that I was getting a bust like Hattie Jacques, I nearly cried as I'm only a 12-14!!

Toria73 · 24/11/2018 22:44

@Stargazydrifter & Labernum, I totally get where you are both coming from, I can't even say the word pregnant out loud. Those that know I was doing ivf are just updated with the phrase so far so good.
I've also had to ban myself from Google, so my sister google's any random symptoms & tell me if I should worry or not. She's got 2 boys & is laughing at me lots!!

Laburna · 24/11/2018 22:48

@toria73 way better that non-wireds for my giant boobies! Made them look like real boobs as well - nice shape and in the right place!!! 😂🤣

You can get kits to convert normal bras into nursing bras too. I've never used them, but they seem fairly common / known so I assume they aren't crazy complicated!

SnailorSwift · 24/11/2018 22:48

I'm the same as you all. In constant mild state of panic. I can't remember being this anxious so early on last time! But my MIL and BIL were both going through chemo at the same time when I was pregnant with DS so think I just had far too much other awful stuff going round in my head.

Jxtina86 · 24/11/2018 22:50

Hi ladies- just catching up. So sorry to hear sad news from various people on here. Sending you all my love.

RE bras - ASOS do a non-underwire bra which is super comfy. It looks tiny but it does the job perfectly well for my 30FFs! Only £8 too. Tend to wear it at the weekend to give them a bit of a break!

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 22:57

Toria that is very endearing, you do what you have to do!

Will wearing a bra to bed/at home when I usually wouldn't help with stretch marks as well as discomfort? Or are stretch marks definitely just genetic? The internet is a bit of a minefield!

trukevoli · 24/11/2018 23:17

I'm so sorry to hear what alot of you are going through. I am trying to catch up on the thread.

I never realised how common it was and how many people i knew had suffered until i did. I have never kept the pregnancies a secret and told everyone from the get go. I think what will be will be and I want to enjoy every second. And i truly believe it helped with my loss as I spoke about it ALOT and to everyone. Noone seemed uncomfortable and alot relieved to be able to discuss their own situation.

I've decided to do the same this time. My OH and parents have wanted me to keep it a secret but this is my baby whatever the outcome and I want to share them with the world.

AIDE2424 · 24/11/2018 23:34

Well an update of my stay in the EPU my first HCG came back at 779 I think I’m either 5 weeks today or tomorrow but going from my last period I was 5 weeks Wednesday just gone, does this level sound normal? There re doing the test at 1am Monday morning to see if it doubled, I’ve had zero pain since last night, only the odd pulling feeling, the scan this morning there was still no baby in my womb or tubes but a small amount of fluid in my right tube and a small swelling however I had been on antibiotics 3 weeks ago for PID so this could maybe be from that, and any pain I did have last night was my left side. I’ve just been to the toilet and there was a small and I mean small amount of blood on the tissue but that was it, none in my under wear I’m just so upset and feel like it’s all over but trying to remain positive, there’s a lady in the bed next to me who has a almost certain confirmed ectopic and she’s in so much pain and I’m not so as awful as it is for her, I feel like surely I can’t be having a ectopic without loads of pain or maybe I’m just trying to cling to tiny amounts of hope 😩

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 23:57

AIDE2424 Sorry to hear you're still there. Hang in there!

On a quick skim of various charts online, your hCG is very much right for 5w so don't lose heart, difficult as that is.

The tiny blood amount could be because the internal scanning has dislodged old pooled blood in the uterus that might have sat there a while.

I worried about an ectopic at around 4w this pregnancy and went to EPU (not overnight though) - they found the little embryo dot when I was 4w2d but it was really hard to see and wasn't more than a little black dot. Now has a heartbeat and all was fine.

I've also had a confirmed ectopic previously, it's definitely very painful (mine was found at 5w). Everything crossed for you.xx

KinCat · 25/11/2018 00:24

AIDE2424 HCG levels vary sooo much so from one reading I don't think they can say much. Same as StargazyDrifter though, from looking online it seems normal.

With bras I only ever wear non underwired but my boobs are tiny (32A - on a good day!). I'm enjoying that they're filling out a bit!

edidxb · 25/11/2018 03:59

Oh my goodness me. I haven't read the board for 4 days due to being really crazy busy and was reading this morning while eating breakfast and what an awful way to start the morning. So much sad news and my heart goes out to everyone. I had a miscarriage in March at 10 weeks, missed from 8 weeks and it was heartbreaking.

I do love how supportive the board is, and even though I have pulled back a lot in the last 2 weeks it is so supportive to read, and when you do post, to have such great feedback and comments.
@idratherbeshowjumping, @bettyswollocks, @itslilsebastian and possible @twittlebee. I hope you are all OK (in some sense) and just know that you will get through it somehow with support from friends and family.

I told my parents last night as they just arrived to visit me for a few days and they were very happy but also cautious. They were with me when I had the miscarriage last time.

I have my next scan on Thursday this week at 8am so I am counting down the days and it will either be positive or it won't. At the moment I am feeling positive and feel like this will be the time it all works out and I have decided that that is how I have to feel all week.

I am at work today and wish it was still the weekend for me!

smerlin · 25/11/2018 05:57

Is anyone up? Think I'm going to be out. Just woke up to some red blood. I guess I'll have to go to the EPU to confirm but not feeling hopeful.

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/11/2018 06:09

Morning all, hope everyone is feeling ok Flowers

Having crazy vivid dreams, rescued a cairns terrier last night amongst other things Confused Grin

I think early pregnancy is a lot like the TWW, a time of uncertainty and hope. Fingers crossed for everyone and love and (((hugs))) to those suffering Sad

I used to hate non wired bras but after almost 4 and a bit years of consistent breastfeeding I now find them so much more comfortable than a wire digging in. There is a nursing bra called Freya Pure I think which I had which has soft underwires which was comfortable mind you. I now live in the M&S bralets which are only £9.50 and give enough support/shape (I’m about a 32F/G I think).

Laburna · 25/11/2018 07:32

How're you doing @smerlin?

MakeAWhish · 25/11/2018 07:42

Oh, @smerlin 😢 I'm so sorry. Xx

smerlin · 25/11/2018 07:46

Just in bed trying to summon energy to get showered and go to EPU. Not open yet. Trying to be positive as this happened in my last pregnancy and it worked out but last time I had loads of pregnancy symptoms and this time none.

MakeAWhish · 25/11/2018 07:51

Keeping everything crossed for you @smerlin it bodes well that it all worked out last time. I wouldn't worry too much about the symptoms at this stage xx

Giraffe888 · 25/11/2018 08:29

@smerlin don’t assume the worst just yet, I’ve read lots of stories of women having a little blood and all being ok. Fingers crossed x

jaykaydee · 25/11/2018 08:42

Before I had DD I dreaded he idea of wearing non wired bras but actually found them so comfortable. I got most of mine from either Bravissimo (I'm lucky I can get to a shop for fittings) or Bra Stop (online) which are cheaper which was handy as I went through various different sizes.

I used the M and S bralets and the H and M nursing tops for sleeping in. I've just dug those out from last time as I've had trouble getting comfortable at night the last few nights.
