Starting a new thread as we near the 1000 comment mark on the Part 2 one!

It is nearly December and I am sure all we want for Xmas are healthy pregnancies and babies Star

Good luck to everyone still here and so sorry for how many we have already lost on the way Flowers

@DartmoorDoughnut Why would they not mention that it could be normal? He said he was concerned and that it should have doubled by now, wants me in for another scan but I've said I really don't want one so soon as it'll just upset me as it's too early to see anything. I cried my heart out on the phone, why would they not mention it could take 72 hours? This stress will cause me to miscarry at this rate!!

Giraffe888 · 24/11/2018 18:29

@smerlin I’m not panicking as everything I’ve read online seems to think brown is ok! X

smerlin · 24/11/2018 18:31

Think I'd feel less worried if I had conclusive pg symptoms but nothing so far that I could said was definitely due to pregnancy rather than other factors.

smerlin · 24/11/2018 18:32

Also worried when to tell people. 12 week scan not till after Christmas but will have to tell people before due to conspicuous lack of alcohol consumption! Might have to book private viability scan in the meantime.

jq28 · 24/11/2018 18:37

@smerlin I'm the same. Iv booked a private scan for 10+2 on the 22nd Dec then hoping to tell friends and fam at Xmas. Got a few cramps today but still no glaringly obvious symptoms.

smerlin · 24/11/2018 18:48

Feel like I should not 'waste' the £100 but really don't feel able to wait until after Christmas.

jq28 · 24/11/2018 18:54

It's only £39 round here in staffordshire!

DartmoorDoughnut · 24/11/2018 18:59

I honestly don’t know and possibly could be other factors involved but when I miscarried in August I read up on HCG levels which is why I knew about the 48-72 hours thing ((hugs)) wait and see what Monday’s blood test reveals Flowers

hayleyfx · 24/11/2018 18:59

@itslilsebastian I’m sorry they weren’t more positive about your hcg levels. However that’s still quite a good rise so as Dartmoor said, they may just be being cautious. I’m keeping everything crossed for you that they’ve risen plenty by Monday and that everything is okay 🤞

@Deliliah7 sorry you’re feeling so rubbish but omg couldn’t help but laugh - that was me in my last pregnancy!! 🙈 I’m only 5+2 in this one so just slightly nauseous atm as it normally kicks in about 7 weeks for me, last pregnancy I was vomiting into a Tesco bag in the middle of town and had to walk around with a bag of sick! Classy 😂 pregnancy is so glamorous 🤔

My scan is at 7 weeks so I’ve got one and a half weeks to go, I’m so nervous. Glad the EPU will be scanning me every 4 weeks or so due to the previous losses so that’s some reassurance but wow I forgot how nerve wracking pregnancy is, especially after loss. My first pregnancy was a breeze, I just didn’t have any worries, until I got to 11 weeks and found out about the MMC. Lost all faith in pregnancy after that. Hope that everyone who has scans coming up soon gets good news.

DartmoorDoughnut · 24/11/2018 19:00

I found a pair of maternity cords today so have been parenting in comfort 😎 obvs can still do up normal jeans but so uncomfortable!

RooKangaroo · 24/11/2018 19:10

Thanks @itslilsebastian! Frustrating about what the doctor said, and particularly confusing if it goes against mainstream information online. I completely get why you don't want an early scan and the uncertainty of whether it's not a viable pregnancy versus too early to tell. Keeping everything crossed for your Monday hcg levels x

@MakeAWhish, fingers crossed for a good midwife! Let me know what happens when you end up discussing it x

itslilsebastian · 24/11/2018 19:22

Thanks all. I'm so heartbroken with all of this. Two years of trying and I'm hating every second of being pregnant, I just know it's not going to last now Sad

SnailorSwift · 24/11/2018 19:23

Evening all.

Speaking of ELCS has any one had to be put to sleep for an elective in previous pregnancies? Reckon this will be the root I go but I am quite worried about it.

TwinkleDay · 24/11/2018 19:24

Your all big boobied ladies by the sounds of it, if I could tell my paranoid 16 year old self that in 10 years you would of gone from an b to and e cup I would of been over the moon 😂

RooKangaroo · 24/11/2018 19:25

I've never heard of that, @SnailorSwift. Would that be because it's your preference, or a medical issue?

NoParticularPattern · 24/11/2018 19:37

I don’t think I’ve checked in here yet. I’ve mostly checked in on the PG after MC thread (despite my MC being before my daughter was born, but I don’t think you ever really get away from that worry!!)

Currently 5+1 with #2. Still breastfeeding my 9mo DD so I’m keeping everything very firmly crossed that this is successful just like she was. Had a MC and a chemical before DD was born so very anxious but trying to just accept that I can’t do anything about whatever happens. I’m not going to aim for an early scan or anything as I had twonwoth DD and it didn’t reassure me for much longer than a couple of days anyway so a very definite waste of money that we don’t have in this household! It’s lovely how many photos we have of her, but I think I’m just going to grit my teeth and wait for 12/13 weeks this time. Only 6/7 weeks to go!!

Don’t feel pregnant really, just a bit tired and crampy but that’s what you get for not having a full night’s sleep for over a year (and for some reason we are going to do it all again.....!)

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 19:38

SnailorSwift I'm yet to see a consultant about ELCS, but I half suspect this will happen to me too. Being put to sleep is ok really but I'm worried about the recovery taking longer.

SnailorSwift · 24/11/2018 20:24

@RooKangaroo due to medical issues - I'm not able to have a spinal block. DS was a vaginal delivery but an absolute disaster so ELCS probably the better option this time but I'd have to be asleep for it.

@StargazyDrifter yes I'm worried about recovery amongst other things but don't know if I'm just panicking for no reason. Be interested to see what consultant says.

Toria73 · 24/11/2018 21:11

Evening all, I'm trying to catch-up on all the chat I've missed over the last week & just want to send big hugs out to all that need one tonight for whatever reason.
Had another scan on Thursday, still 2, which somehow still shocks me. Think I had managed to convince myself it was the same one just pictured from different angles 😂 Still too superstitious to say either the p word or the t word & I'm certainly not going to buy anything until at least Easter but am going to need to buy bras. Am on verge of bursting out of my 34G/36FF (depending on make) bras, so advice needed please... do I have to give up underwired bras & if so, where do I get decent supportive bras that don't have feeding cups?

Giraffe888 · 24/11/2018 21:18

I’m certainly not big boobied 😂 x

Laburna · 24/11/2018 21:21

@Toria73 no of course you don't have to give up underwire, but you are best off betting measured and fitted properly. I'd recommend Bravissimo if you have one near you, (though I know some people aren't keen). John Lewis are also good. I've found Debenhams and M&S ok, but as they don't do my size it's pointless going!

Congrats on the twins! Glad they're both hanging on in there!

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 21:34

SnailorSwift I know what you mean, just feels so radical. Let's wait and see what the consultants say. In my case, I've not given birth before, so it's all a huge unknown to an extent.

Toria glad it's going well, I'm like you, no purchases until Easter. But I did but some new M&S bras. Read somewhere that underwire can be bad for milk production, but then also that it's fine as long as not cutting in. Have decided to stick with it for a while, far more comfortable.

I've been asleep most of the afternoon, on and off. Suddenly hit me how tired I was. Stress and worry (work) definitely makes the nausea worse too. How interesting. Perhaps the body's way to slow us down.

SnailorSwift · 24/11/2018 21:49

@StargazyDrifter Yes will fill you in on what mine says and you can keep me posted too! I'm some ways it's so far off - even those conversations; but hard not to think about!
I was offered an ELCS under the same circumstances last time as I need to have a planned delivery. So was either that or planned induction so it could all be controlled. In the end I went into labour on my own which was not good and I really need to avoid this time!

StargazyDrifter · 24/11/2018 21:54

Yikes SnailorSwift! Definitely avoid in the circumstances. Let's keep in touch on this one. You're right feels ages away still.

Laburna · 24/11/2018 21:56

@stargazydrifter there used to be advise that underwire was really bad for milk, and too restrictive. I remember my sister desperate for an underwire bra for a wedding when she was pregnant - for one day - the lady in the shop refused point blank to seek it to her. It was so ridiculous!

The advice now is that any bra is absolutely fine, as long as it fits well, and it's not pinching or compressing the breast tissue. This was something I really struggled with because I feel grumpy and uncomfortable (I don't really know how to describe it) without underwire. I like the girls to be well confined and not bouncing all over the show. I felt a lot more comfortable in my own skin when I was wearing an underwired bra.

Each to their own though, I know people who find it more comfortable wearing non-underwired ones!
