Oi DKMA, get back in the queue! I am before you, cheeky!

Glad your sweep went ok, you will prob be a bit sore tomorrow, but hopefully it'll get things set off! I've got one on weds at the hosp, not looking forward to it, but am willing to try it!

justbeme · 18/06/2007 11:12

Morning! Gosh you lot are chatty 1st thing!!

Just back from walking the dog - came over all funny a few times and thought i was going to pass out when i was about 30 ft away from front door! May go and lie down in a bit.

Got some RL friends over today!! (really!!) one for 1 oc clock and the other for dinner.

Glad your sweep wasnt too bad DKMA, dont quite fancy that at the moment!!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/06/2007 11:20

Woo hoo!

A couple of days!!!

I am feeling really excited now - not at all frightened. I am actually looking forward to labour and meeting our little fella.

I think that natal hypnotherapy cd has really helped get my head together for all this.

It makes me laugh tho cos I keep getting flash backs to the cd when I'm doing something else - like in a shop - and I can hear that womans voice saying things like ...

'and so with your eyes comfortably closed'
'3-2-1- reeelaaaxxxxxx'
'tuuurrrrnn dowwwwn the diaaaallll'
'into your waiting arms'

They seem to be the ones I keep hearing! I just hope I'm not saying them out loud at the time!?

foxybrown · 18/06/2007 11:29

We obviously have the same CD (thanks to Bumper!)!

Had a lovely reunion last night, tho I was knackered 10 mins after they walked through the door! Idea was they'd be asleep and we'd transfer them to bed and they'd sleep the night through.

No chance, all awake, and very happy to be home, although they'd had a great couple of days. Lovely to see them, Em didn't shut up chatting since leaving Norfolk and going to bed at 11. God, it was lovely to have them home!!

Am going to have to deal with serious fall out by bed-time!

foxybrown · 18/06/2007 11:30

Glad your sweep went OK DKMA, fingers crossed for you!

No word from Pingu? Does she have a text buddy?

TA still blardy here then?

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 11:34

Ahh, foxy, how lovely! What are your plans for the LOs when you go into labour?

DKMA, I have that CD too - I love the dial thing! Still haven't forgiven the women for the "your body will be attracted to all the right foods" though!

So today, my due date distraction plan is:
Have a lovely bath, shave legs, face mask (Done)
Go to Benefit counter in town and get them to make me look lovely, maybe purchase a thing or two...
Buy some talking books to listen to while bf
Maybe have lunch in town whilst reading a magazine - while I still can!

Your reunion sounds lovely Foxy. I take it you are having a quiet day at home then?

Bumper - your day sounds ideal - can I come too? I'm sure I can get someone to look after 2 pukey kids who are tired and fight all the time .

Actually they've not been too bad - I now have Aladin on and I am being asked 50 million questions.

annobal · 18/06/2007 11:52

DKMA - I also have the cd ( Bumper) but don't remember the 'turn down the dial' or 'into your waiting arms' - think I must sleep through that. Do you think it will be in my subconscious somewhere???

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 11:53

Sorry you are stuck in with your pukey kinds annobal! So, do you know all the words to Aladdin yet?!

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 11:55

It's the comfort dial, when things are getting really painful apparently you are supposed to "turn down the dial" (wonder if that really works when you have a baby crowning ?)

It may be worth listening to the cd once while you are awake rather than doing the relaxy stuff.

annobal · 18/06/2007 11:55

LOL Bumper

annobal · 18/06/2007 11:56

Good point - think I will need to do this tonight as soon as DH gets home...

hollyandalice · 18/06/2007 11:57

I know all the words to Aladdin and my dd has never even watched it yet ! I have a Disney films obsession and have them all!

Hope your boys aren't feeling too poorly annobal and hope your day is ok.

Foxy bet you were glad to see your LOs! I miss my dd after only a couple of hours! Hope you having a lovely day of snuggles!

My dd is a PITA! She was awake from 4.30-6 this morning and then woke up at 7. We are mostly watching cbeebies today and having a nap in a min. I am shattered!

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 11:57

Bumper.....happy due day! Nothing doing then?

TA...will you just get on with it woman

Foxy, glad you had a nice re-union. We tried that get home late he'll be asleep trick with DS...it never works. Hope they're not all too cranky today.

DKMA....sounds very promising for you? What's the situation with your pelvis? Are they happy you can have a natural birth now?

All this talk of sweeps.....I'm a bit jealous that I opted for the c-section now...but I think it was the right decision

Just out of bed.... Em had an OK night, but I went back to bed at 7:30 after her feed this morning and had four lovely hours (and she's still sleeping now...). Still got a really bad headache though and am sweating like the proverbial pig (why do pigs sweat?...where does that saying actually come from?). Nothing seems to stop the headache for more than half an hour, and its really really horrible. Can't think straight at all.

Oops, little girl making waking up noises...feed then shower then HV tehn MW PN clinic, then school run. Will chaeck back later.

Good Luck TA......subliminal labour vibes being beamed your way!!!

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 12:14

Hmm, think my lovely day of distraction will have to be put on hold - the rain is torential here. Damn! Still, it's a good job I've got this packet of kit kat chunkys to keep me occupied!

OP posts:
daisyboo · 18/06/2007 12:15

you're all ignoring me again aren't you.

oh well...off to sit by myself on the PN thread.

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 12:16

woo...someone to talk to

hello bumper

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 12:19

Thought you'd disappeared! No, nothing doing here. Been getting lots of (TMI alert) discharge the last two days. But not thick.

What's giving you the headaches? Is it all the drugs? Or dehydration? Was it you or someone else who was having to change AD's, could it be to do with that?

OP posts:
foxybrown · 18/06/2007 12:21

am just back from the soggy school run.

Euch, Daisy, those sweats! I remember them well - I really suffered with nightsweats during bf. gross.

For all we want these angels, and will them to come out, after the first 10 days things turn shit. Sorry for bursting anyone's bubbles, but it is fucking awful for days 10 - 20ish IME.

It is beyond fantastically great, turns to shit then something resembling RL rises up and things are normal-ish again. That's what happens to me anyway

foxybrown · 18/06/2007 12:22

Yes, you are drinking plenty of water Daisy?

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 12:27

I'm geting through about 3litres of water a day.....

but maybe i should cut down on the amount of tea i've been drinking.

yup...I've changed ADs as well so it may be those

foxybrown · 18/06/2007 12:30

Hmm, I quite like that head-ache cure, the one thats a bit mentholated and you sweep it across your foreheaad - 4head, thats it. Have you tried that?

How are you coping with the mood-swings/hormone rushes/feeling like a big pile of poo (there's just so much to look forward to post-natally, isnt' there? )

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 12:32

Oooh, rain's stopped. Think I may go out after all.

See you guys later. Daisy, I hope you feel better soon x

OP posts:
daisyboo · 18/06/2007 12:37

all that isn't too bad foxy....think the ADs are levelling things off re hormones.

left the house yesterday though whhich was great....now need to start phasing rl in graduallly so i'm up and running when dh goes back to work in two weeks!

off to shower before hv....see y'all later

annobal · 18/06/2007 12:52

Bye Daisy and Bumper - enjoy your RL! Aladin is finished now we're on to Teletubbies. Holly, Aladin is great but I HATE Peter Pan. He is soooo annoying.

Foxy I know what you mean re days 10-20. The most difficult thing I found was getting used to the baby and the baby's routine (and I do like gf). Once some sort of routine is established it becomes a bit easier (just a bit) - then it will be school holidays
