Sooo.... TA, Bump and JBM are all about to pop!

annobal · 20/06/2007 09:25

Congratulations Ria - looking forward to hearing all the gory details.

Bumper - how exciting, just go with it!

TA - good luck with the monitoring.

I'm really grumpy today. I woke up at 4am with loads of BHs (I assume they're BHs) and went downstairs for some muesli and oj. T&G then woke up at 5.30 so I'm in for a long day. May take a walk to the park later if the weather holds out and see if I can get anything moving.

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 09:27

All is fine here, no real signs as such. I had a bit of a show yesterday, but not too excited about that. I had one with my dd on my due date and was still induced at 12 days over! I am going in for a sweep at 5, so hopefully that'll help!

DOn't worry too much bumper, you will get through labour. It is shit and it does hurt, but at the end of it all you will have a baby and that is what we are all doing this for! I won't say don't be scared, because everyone is, whether it's their 1st or 4th. Personally I'm bricking it!

This time in a couple of weeks we will all have our babies and will be moaning on the PN thread about bfing, sleeplessness and stitches! How scary is that?!

bumperlicious · 20/06/2007 09:30

My show has had a couple teeny clots of blood in it, like a period - is this normal? And is this more info than you want over your breakfast?!

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 09:33

Yes, that is normal bumper! SOmetimes shows don't have blood in, sometimes they do. Mine hasn't had any blood in, just looks like loads of snot! Ewwww.....pregnancy is super yummy!

bumperlicious · 20/06/2007 09:33

It's not so much the pain that is freaking me out I don't think, it's more the unfamiliar sensations IYSWIM, when the baby presses down on my cervix and I get twinges it just feels really weird and I don't like it.

Ok, I need to get a grip

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 09:35

It's weird isn't it?! All those odd feelings! For me it is sort of like the first time too. I didn't have so much as a twinge before my dd was induced, so all these strange tightenings and pains are new to me! I have no idea what to expect when I finally go into labour, even though I know what labour is like IYSWIM!

annobal · 20/06/2007 09:41

I also think that every labour is different.

With DS1 I was having loads of BHs then my waters broke at 31 weeks and there he was. WIth DS2 I was grumpy for about 12 hours before and then waters broke. With this one, I've been getting so many BHs and feel like I've been kicked in the fanjo, REALLY hard. But then nothing progresses - grrrr...

Klaw · 20/06/2007 09:43

HUGS for Bumperlicious! Quit the freaking, you're going to have a baby soon! You're totally normal, everything is happening just as it should. Reassured?

Klaw · 20/06/2007 09:44

Well that wasn't right, it was meant to be (HUGS)!!!!

bumperlicious · 20/06/2007 09:51

Thanks Klaw, think I might go and find some lavender to inhale or something! Oh, I have lemon drizzle cake too - that'll do the trick!

BadZelda · 20/06/2007 10:07

Congrats Ria!

And also just checked the stats thread. Loads of babies! Am off to catch up on what you've all been up to zx

justbeme · 20/06/2007 10:26

URGENT TEXT FROM TRENDAVERTER*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"I prove Dr wrong! 3cm dilated, waters have gone. Could happen any time now, may need inducing sooner as not sure when waterbroke".

Fantastic news!! Keep you all posted!.

Klaw · 20/06/2007 10:29

JBM, tell her to follow her instincts! And that I'm thinking of her.

justbeme · 20/06/2007 10:31

Have done Klaw!! off to walk the dog now - had a bit more slepp and feeling ok myself!!

annobal · 20/06/2007 10:38

That's fabulous news! Am sending quick and easy labour vibes.

annobal · 20/06/2007 10:42

Klaw, if you're still around, I have a quick question... I saw my midwife on Monday and she said that I am fully engaged. Does this mean that labour is imminent? I've been getting loads of BHs but I've been getting them for weeks.

lulumama · 20/06/2007 10:42

big birthy vibes for TA !!

bumperlicious · 20/06/2007 10:45

Oh, fab news for TA, hope it all happens for her today!

JBM, are you on your way too?

Hmm, I think this might be it for me. Feeling very crampy intermittently, though haven't been timing it. Feeling a bit sick still, and shaky, just generally a bit out of sorts. Oooh, think that may have just been a contraction. Don't know though! Definite period type cramping for about a minute, now eased off. Wondering if I should call DH home, he works about 45 mins away

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 20/06/2007 10:46

Annobal, that sounds like a great sign, I thought with subsequent children engagement can be really late!

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 10:47

Hi girls - you are all fab. Great news for TA - sure she'll be fine.

I agree that every labour if different. All my 4 certainly were. The only things that were the same with all of them was that 1. They were all boys, 2. the minute they are out the pain goes and you instantly laugh & feel better (still not too good but better than you did!, 3. most of us go on to have another baby

The more you relax and just 'get on with it' I find the better it is.

My last one was induced and born at 38w at 10.11lb and im only 5ft so the relief was imense.

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 10:53

Bumper - I would time them for about half an hour and then call hosp & DH. Sound like ur on ur way to me!!

Annobal - with my DS's 3&4 the head was engaged off & on for weeks. DS3 was even breech up until wk B4 then turned on his own. I think its a bit like 1 person being in a 4 man tent - plenty of room in there to swing a cat!! No offence.

Good Luck & thinking of you all xxx

annobal · 20/06/2007 10:53

Bumper, it sounds like it could be it for you! How exciting - looks like it is all kicking off now!! Are you and TA having a race .

Getting frustrated as things here are very stop/start. I didn't engage at all with previous births so not really sure what it means.

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 10:54

Bumper - I always feel a bit out of sorts & jittery at the start of labour. I think its addrenaline? (Dont know if that spelt right but Im sure you know what I mean).

annobal · 20/06/2007 10:54

LOL Mumof4 - no offence taken, my DSs have big heads!
