Just in case we get locked out without realising!

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 21:43

aaawwww....don't make me cry handa....like i need an excuse at the moment!

i gained 2st 2lb......and have lost exactly 1st to date......was about 1.5 stone over my pre DS weight.....so only 2.5 stone to go.....although 3 would be better, but as that is about a quarter of my body weight, not sure if that's do-able, especially at my age!

just spoken to my mum...she's not doing too great. she has cancer and seems to have given up somewhat. she's apparently not eating or even drinking. the doc has put her on ADs and lectured her about eating/drinking.
dh said he'd drive up and fetch her down here for a few days, but is concerned it might be a bit much for me at the moment. if he doesn't though, i wont see her till the middle of august, but the way things are i'm concerned she wont actually make it till then. not sure she's even up for the journey, but thought seeing em might perk her up a bit.

trendaverter · 18/06/2007 21:45

Thanks Holly
good to read these positive stories! Didn't you feel like a bitch? I do. DH tries to be supportive but he has wanted this LO so long I can't really talk to him about it.

trendaverter · 18/06/2007 21:51

Daisy that's awful

I am sure she would love to come stay with you, and yes seeing Em will probably do her the world of good and at the very least you can keep an eye on what she's eating and so on.

trendaverter · 18/06/2007 21:54

I have to go. DH is in a mood, need to do some damage limitation.

Goodnight all x

hollyandalice · 18/06/2007 21:56

Oh daisy, you poor thing. Hope your mum does come and see you, I'm sure seeing your new scrummy person will perk her up and seeing your mum will perk you up too! I don't really know what to say, but my thoughts are with you xx

TA, I don't think I felt like a bitch really. Mainly because I had a great mw and was told that it was perfectly normal to feel this way and almost every woman does, at some point, feel overwhelmed and a bit resentful. Try not to beat yourself up about how you feel, your hormones are everywhere atm and you've had a pretty shitty time of it, you are not a bitch, just a bit stressed out and tired!

riabutterflew · 18/06/2007 22:24

I got Nadine Maxine or Tyson Brooklyn. Not on our lists!

I am too late to be of any use (thought I was having twinges earlier. Not now.) I find it still comes and goes TA, I didn't take to DS2 at all after the birth because it wasn't how I'd hoped, but I adore him now (except when he wriggles in our bed and rolls onto my norks!), but DS1 is sometimes a mystery to me (he is 10) and can be a hateful little git, which is very hard and makes me feel terrible. Am hoping it will get better when I am not PG.

daisy, don't want to say the wrong thing, thinking of you, but would probably be a good thing for you to get your mum with you. Babies are good and it might help you both. Worrying from a distance doesn't help.

Is Doncaster where the Earth Centre was? I went there once. It's further SOUTH than me though!

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 22:28

it's a difficult one, as we've never really seen eye to eye, and her favourite pasttime has always been winding me up. dh worried i'm not up to it emotionally......but if it's only for a few days i'm sure we'll be fine. she's not great with stairs though (she's on oxygen most of the time), and we don't have a downstairs loo. we'll see, she's going to think about it and let us know towards the end of the week.

right...off to bed as the ittle lady is full to the brim and has that lovely "drunk on milk" expression on her face!

Big vibes for TA.

No news from pingu????

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 22:47

Daisy, I'm so sorry your mum seems to have got worse. I don't know what to say, but like the others have said it may be good for her to come and see her grand children, even if it means she is a pain for a few days.

Hope you are ok, you are going through a rough patch at the moment. Hopefully when you are off the ABs and the ADs settle down you will feel better.

OP posts:
doggus · 18/06/2007 22:49

Oh daisy, I am so sorry, what a nightmare. I know there was no way my mum could have managed without a downstairs loo as she was on oxygen the whole time and we had to have a stairlift. Don't suppose you have a camping loo/Portapotty as that's what we ended up using! I hope whatever you all decide turns out 'right' iyswim. Seeing your lovely daughter would perk her up, def but you also have to consider you, which as I know from experience is difficult in these circumstances. HUGS to you.

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 22:50

And TA, I know what you mean about ambivalence, I don't seem to be able to connect this bump to a real baby, and while I am quite excited now about having it, for a long time I really wasn't.

And now it's been such a long time for you and such a PITA no wonder you are struggling to feel anything for it. You are right about RL people though, it's not the sort of thing you admit when you are pg, not that it's stopped me!

OP posts:
daisyboo · 18/06/2007 22:51

cheers bumper......you're up late.

em was all set for bed, but then woke up wanting more milk.....dh changing her again (she poos after every boob and I'm beginning to wish I had three!).

guess you won't be giving birth on your due date then? it'll happen soon enough.

see you all tomorrow...although busy day planned in the house getting things organised for mum if she decides to come.

doggus · 18/06/2007 22:52

Lilkel - my weight gain sounds OK but I was over 11 stone before I got pg, so not exactly sylphlike! I find it very hard to lose weight, so I am hoping it's mostly fluid and baby . One thing I have noticed is that my tits have massively SHRUNK! My 38C bras are flapping in the wind...

doggus · 18/06/2007 22:52

LOL at the tri-titted daisy!

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 07:11

Morning all!
Any babies in the night? Not from me but that's now to be expected

Come on pingu we're all expecting an announcement now!

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 07:15

Morning TA, no baby, but some periody type pains in the night , had them before though. Been v "mucousy" IYKWIM last couple of days too.

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 19/06/2007 07:17

Morning all. Just catching up. Glad I didn't miss too much last night.

doggus, I seem to have shrunk in the bosom department too - I'm hoping this is a permanent change as there was always plenty to go round, I won't miss a bit. I am hoping that my weight gain is a small, dainty (easy to get out) baby with lots of fluid etc to make up the shortfall. Would be nice to come out of hospital a size 10! (But as I've haven't been less than an 18+ since DS1 there's not much hope of that!)

By the way. might be AWOL today. Had a show earlier (not what I was expecting, but I'm sure it counts!) and have been having twinges for over an hour, so I might be off having a baby! Today is my due date according to my consultant though, so it might just all be in my mind...

DH will keep you informed

Have a good day, good luck to everyone else.

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 07:20

Ooh Ria, how exciting! How are you feeling? Keep up udated with every detail!

So here's a joke:

One saggy boob said to to the other saggy boob "We've'd better get some support soon or people will think we are nuts"!

Hee hee, well I thought it was funny anyway!

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 07:21

Btw Ria, what do you mean when you say your show was "not what you were expecting"?

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 19/06/2007 07:24

LOL!

Really, you don't want every detail!

Am just hoping I can get the school run out of the way before I have to admit defeat and ring the hospital (I won't be actually doing it, DH goes on his way to work, but I want the boys tidiliy out of the way...)

DH will be SO PLEASED if he can take the day off!

riabutterflew · 19/06/2007 07:26

TMI! Actually I suppose it was what I should have expected, clear mucus with bloody streaks (I had some green snotty discharge yesterday too), but I was expecting a lump. Have never had a show before, always had my waters go first (and there was no mistaking that!)

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 07:27

OOh Ria exciting!!

My midwife told me twinges don't count much so fingers crossed they turn into something a bit more full on!

Bumper, IKWYM about mocous, OMG I feel like slimer from ghostbusters, I was beginning to think I was a freak

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 07:30

I definitely have a "snails trail" situation going on. Not sure if that is a show of not. It's clear, not streaked with anything. But I won't be getting my hopes up. Today I have my yoga teacher coming over, popping to the Asian supermarket to get some ingredients to make a thai curry, then making said curry, and later on some girlfriends are popping over. Need to pack my days at the moment!

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 19/06/2007 07:34

F**k me that hurt. Tink it might be more than twinges! Is it too lte to change my mind?

Upstairs, something stirs, best go and be a good mummy (and not shout out that particular exclamation!)

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 07:35

LOL snail trail

ditto

I had LOADS come out after my first sweep, mainly just clear like snot, then less over the next few days, I had another sweep yesterday and it's all been coming out again now only streaked with blood this time.

I have never felt so goddamn sexy, Puurrrrrr

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 07:35

OOOH RIA'S GONNA HAVE HER BABY!!!!
