Hey Ladies

I'm back again after a bit of internet shopping - I have had to order an replacement batery charger for my digital camera - and a replacement software package for the camcorder - to load onto my computer - all because my DH is a tit and has managed to loose them both! (at a cost of £83)

I'm feelin fine after the sweep and I too now have brown discharge (nice!) but I'm thinking this is positive?

I also have been to Bawtry! I lived in Conisborough for a while! Does anyone remember the nightclub 'Kharisma' - or as my mates used to call it 'lack of'?

annobal · 18/06/2007 15:44

Well, MW has just been. Baby is fully engaged (this didn't happen until I was in active labour with DS2) and backbone is on the left (is that OA?).

My DH is also a northerner - he's from Stockport (Reddish).

mumof4aceboys · 18/06/2007 15:44

Oooh DKMW - that shud b a good sign unless she just disturbed things a bit . Bet you have ur baby this time tommorow! Have sumat spicy 2nite. I had a chilli after my sweep and woke at 1am with the shits - thats the next sign by the way!

Karisma is still there. Its about the only thing that ant changed in Donny. The Varicose Vein (park lane nite club) is gone. The Indus is now a pub. Mind you though just about everything is a pub in Donny now.

Keep upright!

mumof4aceboys · 18/06/2007 15:47

Hi Annobel - that sound good. Head on my DS3 & DS4 didnt engage till labour! Bet you are in the next few days 2.

Stockports the other side of the Hills. I know someone from there who moved over to this side of the hills and she calls her pushchair a trolley! Personally I put my shopping in one of them. Does ur DH call it that?

mumof4aceboys · 18/06/2007 15:49

Annobel - sure the backbone on the left is ok. Think is when they go back to back that its painful? So long as it comes out head 1st thats the main thing! Do you know what you are having?

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 15:51

Annobal, I would say a man bag is mandatory! I made DH get one as I was sick of lugging everything round like a pack horse, or him stuffing it all in his pockets!

Congratulations WC! Sounds like you did brilliantly!

Doggus, hope the brown stuff is a good sign for you!

I went into town but was very good. I did get myself a little something from Benefit (this ) though I would have bought a lot more if I had the money! I want this and this and this ! And I was very good, I didn't stop for lunch or cake, I came back and had spaghetti and tomato sauce (which was yum) and now going to have a cuppa and a kit kat chunky!

Thanks for the tip re high beam foxy - I already have it!

Lovely stuff Bumper! I did my Clarins 'product' shop a couple of weeks ago, but seeing all that lovely stuff I feel a 'cosmetics' shop coming on.

Trouble is, by the time the credit card bill comes through I'll be otherwise engaged, will forget about it and it will all go horribly wrong!

Trolley for a buggy - never heard of that before!

Good news if that's your plug coming away Doggus and DKMA! And being fully engaged Annobal, thats good!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/06/2007 16:02

Bumper - I'm so impressed that you are still up for going to the shops! I can only manage the supermarket now - everything else is internet shopping.

I think I'm getting a bit agrophobic now - panicing about waters breaking in public etc!

Annobal - sounds like you're getting ready for blast off too!!

I too am from t'north. Although I did live near Donny for a bit - I actually am from the other side of the hills too (Cheshire).

Can't believe Kharisma is still there! I once fell arse over tit down about 3 flights of stairs there (t'was late, had lots of gin, wearin heels - IYKWIM!)

mumof4aceboys · 18/06/2007 16:05

DKMW - if I ad a quid for every time i'd fallen down them chuffing steps in karisma i wunt be living in donny! I'd probly be livin in Cheshire

annobal · 18/06/2007 16:05

Bumper - think that may have to be his birthday pres then. He always has pockets full of stuff. Usually my stuff as well when we go out - that will change tho when the baby comes along and I have to carry multitudes of paraphernalia again...

I like Benefit - esp the tired eyes thing, looks lovely. May also have to investigate the high beam... Any excuse to spend more money

Do you know, I don't think I have ever paid attention to what DH calls the buggy - I don't think it's trolley. I got told off by a fellow oz the other day for calling it a stroller .

Right - am going to take these 2 fakers out for a walk/scoot - after bringing everything up this morning, they've been full of beans ALL DAY. See if I can tire them out - may have the added benefit of enticing the baby out.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/06/2007 16:08

PMSL - bet the bouncers there have a right laugh at the end of the night!

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 16:09

It did hurt like buggery, but then it has done for months when I've walked that far. Actually I was disappointed that more people didn't ask when it was due - I was looking forward to the scared look on their faces when I said today! Although I did have to calm the benefit girl down a bit!

And she congratulated me on still wearing heels which is funny. It doesn't make any difference to me - I more in pain from the fact that I have a 7 odd pound baby being held up by my pelvis and non existent stomach muscles! You can give me the morning sickness, and the HB and the sleepless nights, but you're not getting me out of my shoes!

OP posts:
Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/06/2007 16:12

Does anyone know if the HB goes away once you've given birth?
I can't wait to lay flat on my back again - without huge amounts of pillows!!

mumof4aceboys · 18/06/2007 16:17

DKMW - yes straight away! best thing is lying on ur belly face down

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/06/2007 16:21

Can't freekin wait to do that.

trendaverter · 18/06/2007 16:31

Afternoon all, I have had a hell of a day

The hosp rang me up to see if I would go in straight away for my CTG, it doesn't take long so I went knowing that I'd be back home before my mum came over for the day - not so.

They did the CTG, then they wanted to do a scan, then I had to have a meeting with the doctor, then they wanted to do an internal and a sweep.

CTG - fine...
Scan - only 3cm water, low end apparently but not yet considered dangerous
exam - Cervix not ripe, can't dilate it much beyond 1cm
Sweep - painful but less so than the last time. If I am not ripe then that would explain why so painful I suppose.

In a nutshell though they think my body probably won't go into labour naturally this week, if at all. They offered an inducement straight away but I said no, still friday please.

Do feel like I have a bit of a crap useless body.

But, I am ok, my mum cheered me up, we had a chinese buffet for lunch and a good laugh round the shops.

So...I guess by the end of this weekend I will be a mum then...kind of a relief knowing that it's almost all over. I feel very uncomfortable and massive.

bumperlicious · 18/06/2007 16:44

TA you are really going through it. It's not your fault though, these things just happen. Either way, by Friday you will be well on your way to being a mum - and you will be a great mum. The giving birth part is just a really teensy part of it, and you have a much more important job ahead of you!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 18/06/2007 16:48

Hi Bumper! Yes I think you are right. Hopefully this time next week all these stresses will be a distant memory.
I am tired of it though!

In some ways actually it's a relief knowing that something is wrong, rather than just waking up every morning wondering if there is something wrong!

Kind of like finding a label for the weird disease, you just get a sense of relief that at least you KNOW.

justbeme · 18/06/2007 16:49

Oh sorry to hear about your shite time today TA, at least youve had a good check up and everything is ok as can be.

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 16:52

TA.....they're probably just trying to scare you into an induction....then they don't need to worry about all the monitoring and you taking up their time and money! stand firm and it will happen for you. You are NOT crap and useless. Keep positive hun.

BIG CONGRATS westcoaster...LOL at "came over all unnecessary"...my mate says that and she's from chesterfield.

hope your fanjo is ok.....will it sort itself out in time?

LOL at all you northern ladies....
...we're thinking of moving to N lincs....probably spilsby or that neck of the woods. tell me it's a nice place to live!

trendaverter · 18/06/2007 16:54

Oh I just read back!

Congratulations WC! Welcome Little WestCoaster!

Sounds like the birth was not too much hassle, really thrilled for you

No she just needs a name

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 16:55

bumper (i think it was u who asked).....my pelvic/back/ligament pain and hb disappeared on delivery, and I've spent the last two weeks sleeping very deeply and unfettered by uncomfiness on my back. it's bloody brilliant!

trendaverter · 18/06/2007 16:56

Thanks Daisy
I do feel a bit ... unmotivated at the moment. Not really miserable or anything, just exhausted of it all. But I am ok. I am feeling a bit que sera sera now, no longer tearful and depressed, not exactly positive and hopeful either.

I might just be exhausted from tramping round the shops for most of the day

The care assistant at the hosp said to me today "do you know what you're having?"

I said an Elephant.

I am MASSIVE.

doggus · 18/06/2007 17:07

TA, laughing at 'an elephant', I have just said much the same thing in Waitrose and then downloaded on them about heartburn. Mumof4 - can't tell you how happy I am that the hb goes, and you can lie on yuor tummy again! Mwah - big kiss to you in gratitude.

Daisyboo - I am yer north lincs expert - [email protected], ask away!

Mumof4 - didn't there used to be a nightclub that was a church in Donny? I am 39, so the Arndale was very hi-tec in the 1970s. I went to the Frenchgate Centre a couple of weeks ago, it was good - and yes the figures under the fountain were the main attraction for me as a 10 year old.

DKMA - I remember the tarin journey from Donny - CONisbrough, MEXborough and ROTHerham - I have been to the castle and on a trip down the river.

Ah, Memory Lane....

daisyboo · 18/06/2007 17:14

doggus...you can only lie on your tum after your boobs have stopped feelin like a block of concrete strapped to your chest!...engorged norks are no fun at all, and very uncomfortable. i leak too much though the night if i'm on my front as well!
