How’s everyone doing? I’ve got an induction date of this Saturday (I’ll be 38 weeks exactly). Not sure how I feel about it, excited to meet baby but my labour with my DS was spontaneous and fairly quick. I’ve heard inductions can go on for days so not hugely keen!
Hopefully it won’t be too bad and it could end up being a March baby!

Buttons28 · 27/03/2019 11:23

@ChocolateChipMuffin2016 that's exciting to have a date to get things moving and know that you will be meeting baby soon. I've read mixed reviews on inductions. Some go smoothly and others are more intense. I guess if you go in relaxed and focus on the end goal you should be fine.

I'm currently 36+3 so could be waiting to meet baby for a while yet. I'm very excited and hoping that I don't get too bored of waiting once I start maternity leave. I finish work on Friday and can't wait to put my feet up!

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 30/03/2019 13:12

@ChocolateChipMuffin2016 hope your labour has started ... maybe even the baby is here?

I’m good. Fed up. Will be 37 weeks on Monday. Uncomfortable, broken sleep etc etc. The usual. Bought a pineapple and some raspberry leaf tea. Will be hitting them from Monday ...

Tootyfrooty35 · 30/03/2019 14:11

Still here at 40+3...so technically was due a March baby but knew it would be an April. I'm not expecting anything to happen anytime soon. Booked for induction at 40+8 which is Friday coming. Hoping it'll be a quick AROM and I'll be home in time for Gardener's World 😂😂😂😂

@finallyGotAnIPhone raspberry leaf tea is a uterine tonic so start drinking it now, no need to wait. It won't help you dilate, but dates can so get yourself some of those. But basically nothing will encourage baby if they aren't already thinking about coming out. Believe me, I've been in latent for a week and it's exhausting to keep trying all theses different things 😣

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 30/03/2019 16:38

Yeah it’s a pain. I was late with my other two but they won’t let me go past 40 weeks this time without inducing me because of my age. Have heard the dates thing but just can’t face them!

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 30/03/2019 17:55

Our little girl was born today! So match baby in the end! Came in at 9am, examined at 11 and I was already 2cm, waters broken at 11.30 and baby girl born at 3.30! Feels so strange! All doing well Grin

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 30/03/2019 17:56

March not match!

Tootyfrooty35 · 30/03/2019 18:14

@chocolateChipMuffin2016 ahhhh fantastic! Congratulations on your baby girl ❤️ did you need any syntocinon or did it just kick off after AROM? Your steot sounds very much like my ideal scenario for next Friday! Did you find the contractions bearable? Hope you get home soon 😊

Tootyfrooty35 · 30/03/2019 18:19

@finallyGotAnIPhone hahsd yes I love dates but I know they're not for everyone 😂 I've been to 42+ weeks twice before bur not happy to do that this time, plus expecting another big un... DS was 11lb5! So only happy to go to 41 this time.
Im definitely feeling ALOT more positive about the thought of induction today than I was yesterday, or previously in general. I can see the pros for sure.

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 30/03/2019 19:42

@Tootyfrooty35 nope, just all kicked off after the waters went, was the same when I had my DS though so I secretly hoped it might go that way! I do think it hurt more this time though!. Or I really had forgotten how much it hurt last time! Though still managed with just gas and air so bareable.

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 30/03/2019 20:54

That’s great! Congrats!

Tootyfrooty35 · 31/03/2019 03:05

@chocolateChipMuffin2016 fantastic, so pleased for you 😃 I had similar last time, waters went spontaneously as my first labour sign and baby was in my arms three, intense, hours later. So hoping my body would just remember and crack on itself 😂
I think we do forget don't we, I'm getting pressure in the back of my pelvis that very much reminds me of birthing DSs head. Obviously not painful atm but is a sensation I'd forgotten but I'm sure will sharp come flooding back to me soon!
Enjoy your new human 😍

sofasandcoffeetables · 31/03/2019 17:45

Anyone else being induced tomorrow? Bag packed & repacked every couple of hours - not sure what tomorrow will bring but hopefully it won't be too many days in hospital.

Tootyfrooty35 · 01/04/2019 07:31

@sofasandcoffeetables all the best for today, remember lots of nice snacks and things to keep you busy as inductions can take a while to kick off if it's your first or baby isn't quite ready.
Hope you have an announcement soon 😊
Nothing happening here, I'm 40+4 today and just planning my week, trying yo keep busy 😬

sofasandcoffeetables · 01/04/2019 14:11

@Tootyfrooty35 thank you - hope everyone is doing ok...

Buttons28 · 02/04/2019 20:12

@ChocolateChipMuffin2016 congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby ❤️

How are you doing @sofasandcoffeetables ? Hope the induction is going ok

sofasandcoffeetables · 02/04/2019 21:13

@Buttons28 not much happening sadly - some contractions but not intensive enough to be doing much - next check soon to see if they can break waters yet - long & slow process...trying to stay positive Grin

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 03/04/2019 11:34

I thought I would go into labour overnight as I was having pains from about 5 pm. They weren’t regular enough or painful enough to be contractions but I thought it might be the start. Alas no! Annoying. I’m 37 weeks.

hospitalbagfrenzy · 03/04/2019 16:22

Not been on the thread for ages but just wanted to recommend this book - its fabulous! Wish I read it for my first..

36+4 and no sign yet

April 2019 part 3!
Buttons28 · 04/04/2019 19:33

@sofasandcoffeetables hopefully something will happen soon for you, just think the end is so so close now

Tootyfrooty35 · 05/04/2019 05:41

How's everyone doing?

I've been awake since 4.30am....finally meeting my baby today 😁

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 05/04/2019 06:59

@Tootyfrooty35 good luck for today. Hopefully it will be nice and quick given not your first ?!

All ok here. I just feel a bit “meh” now waiting. Still aware it could be weeks. Ugh!

My other kids break up from school today so I guess an active week awaits next week after a good few weeks of relaxing on mat leave pre baby.

sofasandcoffeetables · 05/04/2019 07:47

Morning all - Quick update after a long drawn out induction that started Monday with the pessary & finally ended yesterday morning with the birth of a little boy!

Good luck to all & enjoy the newborn cuddles when they arrive.

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 05/04/2019 10:46

That’s fabulous ! Well done you and congrats!! Gosh it does indeed sound long ... rest up.

Tootyfrooty35 · 05/04/2019 11:09

Huge congratulations @sofasandcoffeetables❤️

Had my waters broken and contractions have started 😁 excited to meet my baby today 😍
@FinallyGotAnIPhone I'm hoping so, I've done this before so I know what's coming but I'm just excited now!
