Hi all,

I missed the previous thread about the Facebook group. How do we join?

Hope everyone’s doing well!!

italianwifey · 30/12/2018 18:22

Hey @stargirl7 and @cathybigballs , I think if you PM @organised5 she will be able to add you to our facebook group!

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 30/12/2018 21:31

Hi all, haven’t checked in for a while! 25+1, lots of kicks and movements. Starting to think we actually need to start getting some bits organized! We do have a lot of the main bits left from DS, but things like hospital bag, checking clothes etc! Mentioned to DH yesterday that the crazy planning lady was starting to ramp up, so to be warned! Grin hope everyone is doing ok and had a lovey Christmas!

newrubylane · 04/01/2019 09:29

@CathyBigBalls - nice to have someone else expecting twins on here! I'm currently 23+6 so a bit behind you. Hope it's all going ok x

eloisekent · 04/01/2019 20:55

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet, first time posting! I'm due 4th April with my 1st. Now Christmas is out the way, it's all starting to feel very real and slightly scary. Husband is starting the nursery next week, and we start NCT on Monday! Still excited though, just realisation hitting us Grin

YouSetTheTone · 05/01/2019 16:19

Hi all, although I’ve been frequenting the pregnancy board I’d forgotten about the antenatal threads - doh.

Due mid-April with DS3 (will be utterly outnumbered in my house! Grin)

25 weeks now and feeling a fair bit of movement despite anterior placenta (also ‘slightly low’ acc to the 20 week scan. Not touching the os and about 15 mm away but being scanned at 34 weeks to check it’s moved. I haven’t read the thread but is anyone else in the same situ?

I’m 40 - anyone else? I do occasionally get worried about being ‘an older mum’. But trying not to let it bother me too much...

Redken24 · 06/01/2019 20:33

Hi guys 24 weeks now - got my consultant appointment this week. I'm not sure what to expect!
2nd baby

hanny24 · 07/01/2019 08:41

Hey 26 weeks here. Due April 15th.... I have a question!

BABYMOON!! Is anyone else planning a long haul babymoon?

Last time I flew was around 5 weeks ago and to Iceland... (yes, I went pregnant hiking in the freezing cold) 😲 but has anyone ever flown long haul? We're planning on going to L.A for Valentine's Day (4 nights 6 days)

Of course I have flown long haul many times, but not whilst pregnant!! 😅

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 09/01/2019 20:33

Hello @hanny24 - I was considering going to America mid February as flights v cheap but having looked at numerous threads on here about it people in general seem to think it’s a daft idea / plus you need to make sure you call the insurance it’s all covered/ Virgin need a letter to say you’re fit to fly after 28 weeks blah blah... plus I am out of breath easily so in the end we’ve booked centerparcs instead. If you think you’ll feel up to it and can be bothered with the long flight for four days then go for it though! Other option is to go when the baby is born. Babies are very portable in the early months. All they do is sleep! I went to Florida when my last baby was 10 weeks it was great.

@YouSetTheTone I’m due my third too and I’m 41 so don’t worry you’re not as old as me.

39Suzy · 09/01/2019 21:57

@yousetthetone i am also just 40 although had pretty much given up on this board as i think most people have decamped to the 'secret' Facebook club!

@hanny24 i flew at 20 weeks and only advise i waa given was take asprin, wear flight socks, stay hydrated and get up and move a lot. Insurance is a ballache though

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 09/01/2019 22:06

Yes I figured people must have gone to the Facebook group too. Glad there are a few of us post 40. Hope everyone well. I am now 25 weeks I’m generally well, just feel more knackered than in previous pregnancies but figure that I’m older with two kids and a busy job so not surprising. Going to the hospital again at 28 weeks for a growth scan. Think I’m having that because of my age.

Bellafreud · 09/01/2019 22:30

I’d really like to join the Facebook group - @organised5 are you still adding people?

YouSetTheTone · 09/01/2019 23:09

@organised5 I’d like to join the FB group too if ok? I think I sent you a PM (never done that before). Let me know if I did it wrong!

Hello to the fellow forties! Grin
@FinallyGotAnIPhone I’m 25 weeks too with 2 kids (and part time job). I can never work out if I’m pregnancy-knackered or life-knackered!
I’m not getting a growth scan at 28 weeks but it probably varies between trusts. I do have an automatic consultant appt due to being 40 though. They’ve scheduled it for quite late on and given I gave birth at 38 weeks in both previous pregnancies I think I’ll end up missing it!

Due to the slightly low placenta I’m being scanned at 34 weeks to check it’s moved. Trying to hold out until then and not have a private one... (I feel like I’d like to get my head around a possible c section sooner rather than later but I should probably just wait... and hope that the money I’m due to spend on a hypnobirthing course doesn’t end up being pointless!)

39Suzy · 10/01/2019 17:00

Happy to set up an over 40s one if you are up for it?

YouSetTheTone · 10/01/2019 18:30

@39Suzy I’m up for that!

39Suzy · 10/01/2019 21:02

@yousetthetone @finallygotaniphone DM me your FB profiles as i need to add you as a friend first (delete me after by all means!).

SPR1107 · 22/01/2019 09:56

How's everyone getting on?

I keep getting random waves of tiredness. Just want to curl up under my desk!

RosiePosies · 22/01/2019 11:52

28+4 I feel like I've reverted back to the first trimester in terms of tiredness @SPR1107 - I have restless leg (and entire body Sad) as well which isn't helping matters!

SPR1107 · 22/01/2019 13:25

Yes @RosiePosies I experienced my first ever case of restless legs the night before last, was horrific! Last night I dragged myself to yoga, had a pint of milk and a bath before bed to try and stop it an it seemed to help!

My two year old has now decided to cut out naps as well.. I was really hoping he'd hold out!

Fraggleface · 22/01/2019 14:40

29+3 here and really struggling physically now (I swear first time round wasn’t this bad). I cannot get comfortable in bed, despite many pillows! Restless legs, cramps, etc etc

Went to the vbac clinic last week and trying to decide whether to stick with original choice of an elcs or take punt at a vbac...

Redken24 · 22/01/2019 19:26

@fraggle
What did they say your odds were at spontaneous labour are? Mine is 50/50 😂

SPR1107 · 22/01/2019 21:18

Anyone else set to give birth to a little whopper? Confused

April 2019 part 3!
Fraggleface · 22/01/2019 21:31

They didn’t give me any odds. She just said that it was like being a FTM again. My DD was emcs though after failure to progress in induction and they can’t even tell me why I never got into established labour then (different hospital though). So who knows! Smile

Fraggleface · 22/01/2019 21:34

@spr1107 I feel your pain with the naps. My DD2 naps most days still, but 2 or 3 days a week she won’t and my heart sinks

SPR1107 · 22/01/2019 21:43

@Fraggleface in his defence he will nap for an hour and a half if I let him, but then he doesn't go to sleep until gone 10pm. So I've had to cut my losses 👎🏽.
Does your DD understand you're having a baby?
