Congratulations @jellybeann!

I looked at the babyzen yoyo with DC1 and had a play - like you @italianwifey we had a Mini at the time with steps in our London flat! But we didn't like the pram for newborns really. I wanted baby to face me plus the handles don't adjust which made it a very small pram for my over 6ft DH.

I'm a big advocate of bugaboo bee - thought it was a really good middle ground between sturdy and small - still fitted in the mini and I could lift it up stairs! A lot of friends in London who bought big travel systems bought the babyzen when baby was over 6 months but the bee worked fine for us so we didn't need a second pram.

italianwifey · 13/11/2018 07:48

Ah okay @sodababy2 does baby not face you with the newborn bit? I’m keen on that too so would put me right off... we need to physically go and see some and try out I think. Has anyone got recommendations of where to go to look?

sodababy2 · 13/11/2018 09:31

Actually @italianwifey I think I'm remembering wrongly. I think the newborn bit faces you but after that baby has to face away and I wanted the option of still facing me.

I went to John Lewis and booked a nursery appt there and they were really good talking us through everything. We then did a 'baby list' like a wedding list but we just bought everything from the list ourselves. It was handy as meant it all got delivered at once.

kriz0 · 13/11/2018 14:57

Just thought I'd say hi, I'm expecting my first on April 15th (a boy 😁)!

How does one join this secret Facebook group I hear folks talking about? Thanks x

Shk38 · 13/11/2018 15:22

@italianwifey
The new born pack faces the parent, but after that it faces forward. I was hesitant about that but my sisters who used to have the bugaboo bee said although it's nice for the parent. After 6-9 months the child needs more stimulation than just the parents which makes sense. I think I'm still keen on the yo yo.
But will probably drag husband along to a JL appt to make a wish list. They sound fun!

Griffer · 13/11/2018 18:24

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and have my 20 week scan in the morning.
I am huuuuuuge already. Had to go into london today and someone gave their seat up for me on the tube - it's that obvious! Loads of people in the street were looking at my bump too.
My LO is constantly wriggling around, I can feel it all the time now. Tbh it's a bit freaky, like an alien inside me.
Hang on in there, not long now for all of us. Can not believe I'm half way tomorrow.
Congrats @jellybeann!

Footymum81 · 13/11/2018 20:17

We had our 20 week scan today at exactly 20 weeks...
Baby was lying on its front and running up stairs, eating chocolate and walking/jiggling around was no help. Couldn’t check the face or heart properly so we have to go back in 2 weeks. All else is fine though.
We decided to find out and we’re joining team blue 💙
Both our mums came along to see baby and we had a tearful moment when they were shown the relevant parts! Then a lovely lunch and a few treats for baby.
Good luck for tomorrow @Griffer and for Thursday @luckyleeds

Sorry to interrupt the flow of conversation guys! I am 16+5 and just looking for some reassuring words!

Feeling a bit crampy tonight - nothing major and no blood or anything! I'm guessing feeling a bit crampy is normal and probably just growing pain?

SPR1107 · 13/11/2018 20:41

Congratulations all those who have had 20 week scans and to those who have found out what you're having.

Cramping probably is growing pains, maybe a warm bath and taking it easy would help?

Has anyone done any sort of pregnancy announcement or anything? With my first I just put a photo of me up at around 25 weeks at a ball, as I was going on a friends Hen Do and wanted to put something up before lots of photos went up. We're off to Dublin in a couple of weeks in a large group, so want to be the one to put something up again, before it's announced for us.. just don't know what, or whether to involve DS1

Treaclepie19 · 13/11/2018 21:02

@Rosalind22 I've had a lot of cramping on and off. It's just everything stretching I think :)
@SPR1107 we haven't done an announcement because of not knowing baby is ok but we had planned to involve our son. I have a friend's wedding in less than 2 weeks so wanted to do it before then but it's not looking likely.

18+2 here today. Struggling with everything.
Having cvs or amnio Monday and hoping for good news in a few weeks time. Our 20 week scan is on the 26th Nov and I'm really hoping the heart looks well as that's something the high NT could be because of.

We sent this to family and friends as our announcement, but I haven’t done anything on social media. We didn’t last time either, I think someone asked about my pregnancy on Facebook at some point and I didn’t hide away from it, I just didn’t want to announce it as such. Just my preference.

April 2019 part 3!
Griffer · 14/11/2018 07:38

I've told my family and a few people at work. It's obvious enough now that everyone knows at work.
We've not told my partners friends yet, we have a gathering with them in a couple of weeks. I've said he needs to tell them before as they'll be upset we haven't told them, but he thinks it's funny and is just going to claim it's nothing to do with him. I just hope they find it funny too.

Not done anything on social media. I used to be an elite athlete and have lots of connections still that I don't really want to share private stuff with. I could do a big cull, but maybe something to do on maternity leave before it's born.

A friend has just put up a photo of her daughter kissing her bump. I thought that was a really sweet way to do it if you have children already.

20 weeks exactly!

MigMog · 14/11/2018 08:04

We popped something on facebook just after our 12week scan.

It's our first and has taken a long time so we really wanted to share the news.

It's been really good too. I've reconnected with a few people who are also expecting around the same time. I'd not have found them again otherwise.

SPR1107 · 14/11/2018 10:20

We have a little boy, my thought we're to take a photo of him reading a 'I'm going to be a big brother' book.. something simple. Or I was going to take a picture of four personalised baubles that said something like 'daddy, mummy, DS, Bump'

Footymum81 · 14/11/2018 10:35

@SPR1107 some friends took a photo of a row of shoes, mummy, daddy, child ‘s and a pair of booties with ‘?’
DD is 14 and didn’t like the idea of an ‘I’m the big sister’ t shirt photo so we just used the first scan photo on Facebook after telling all the important people directly.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 14/11/2018 12:26

We put a picture of DS in one of those t-shirts that says “I’m going to be a big brother” and put it on FB with the 12w scan photo Smile

monkerina · 14/11/2018 14:07

We haven't done an announcement, didn't with DS either as after a number of miscarriages I didn't quite believe it'd end in a child until he was actually here! A picture of me and DH went on around Xmas (DS is a Feb baby) so it was pretty obvious by then. We have our 20 week scan on Tuesday so assuming all is well then I might try and get a pic of DS with his current favourite book 'There's a House Inside My Mummy' and post that.

Hope all goes well on Monday @Treaclepie, and with everyone else's scans!

Treaclepie19 · 14/11/2018 14:20

Thank you @monkerina

@kriz0 congrats! I'm also due April 15th and a boy!! 😬

MigMog · 14/11/2018 17:48

Are we all blooming with the second trimester yet?

I started with colds and coughs. Had lots of stretching pains. And now TMI down below is feeling rather dry, irritated and inflamed. Probably a mix between prego changes and anti biotics

Oh what a glam thing being prego is!

Griffer · 14/11/2018 21:08

20 week scan went great. No problems found. Also had my flu and whooping cough jabs.
Consultant won't sign me off for midwife led yet as my cardiologist has asked to see me again :( another pain -in-the-arse trip to hospital. I have an irregular heart beat, but it's not dangerous.
No more scans, so the next time we see baby will be at the birth!

italianwifey · 14/11/2018 21:42

@migmog I have the worst headache and still putting up with a horrible snotty cold one week on from
Catching it! Has anyone got any advice about clearing sinuses as it’s really getting me down! Great news about those of you who have had the scans :-)

Redken24 · 15/11/2018 07:25

Due April 27th so just flying by and saying hiya guys

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 15/11/2018 08:40

I had a consultant appointment yesterday. It was basically the same as a midwife appointment. I’m seeing them because high BMI though I had no issues last time I was pregnant and have actually lost weight so far this pregnancy (same happened last time). He’s booked me in for extra growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks so if there was ever a benefit to being fat extra scans is it!

hanny24 · 15/11/2018 10:20

@italianwifey get a nasal sinus cleaner. Few pounds on eBay or you can get the real deal in boots for ££! It's great you just put some warm water in with salt and stand over the sink keeping your mouth open and head down. I swear by it, looks daunting at first but it's really easy and I haven't drowned yet! 😬
