bra fittings.

Any suggestions of a decent high street store for maternity wear who do reliable fittings? Who also aren't super expensive!

italianwifey · 04/11/2018 18:11

Ah I’m so jealous @ashley992! I’m not sure yet but hoping I get something I can be certain about soon!

ashley992 · 04/11/2018 19:43

@italianwifey if I remember right from other posts you're also small too? The book I have says smaller women can feel them sooner. Laying in bed was the first time I think I felt it. Who can be sure what I'm feeling is even the baby?! I don't know what else it could be though, definitely different to wind!

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 04/11/2018 20:22

@MigMog I went to Debenhams this week and got fitted. I’ve generally always had positive experiences in there and in Bravissimo. Didn’t have any bras in my size though (32FF ugh! Massive tits!). If you know your size you can always look online.

39Suzy · 04/11/2018 20:46

@migmog Mothercare and M &S have a good maternity bra range and i managed to get a few last time in the sale so were good value. Def worth trying them.on as i found the band size comes up generous

Treaclepie19 · 04/11/2018 22:15

Oh I was wondering about bras too.
Last pregnancy I went to m&s but following that I got new bras at Victoria's secret and had completely changed size. Apparently m&s still do the old style of measuring?
Saying that, it's a lot comfier so I'm not sure I mind.

@italianwifey I didn't feel movement with baby 1 until around 20 weeks. Do you know where your placenta is? If you have an anterior placenta (front) it can mean you feel movement later. This time round I've been feeling flutterings and pops from around 16 weeks but no real definite movements yet (17+4).

@MigMog - I went and got measured at John Lewis and was happy with service and bra choice.

fatbrows · 04/11/2018 23:00

Add me to the 3rd of April with baby number 1! I already said hello in a previous post but other than that I never have anything interesting to say lol so I'll be lurking around

Mewe · 05/11/2018 09:01

Morning all, long time reader but thought I would join. EDD is 23 April and from our first round of ICSI.
15+6 today and have my 16 week MW appointment today. Feeling very nervous and anxious all the time.
Anyone else feel like this?

Ohnonotanotherusername · 05/11/2018 09:02

Morning all. I've got my 20 week scan today and am getting quite nervous about it. Today is the first morning that I haven't felt the baby move at all for a week or so and I'm having stitch like pains across my bump (think they are probably just stretching pains). Can't wait to get the scan over and done with.

newrubylane · 05/11/2018 10:18

Little bit of a worry this morning. it's a bit of a gross TMI one though, so look away now if you wish!

So, we had sex last night. Then this morning I showered no issues there), followed by a large bowel movement, and then when I went to flush afterwards I noticed there was some very red blood on one of the pieces of tissue I'd used. Very fresh looking, not clotted. A patch about the size of a fifty pence piece, or slightly bigger, maybe. Only I'm not sure where exactly it came from. I tried wiping both 'ends' again and there was literally nothing at all visible on either bit of tissue, and have checked again a couple of times since this morning and nothing then either.

No other symptoms, but Googling hasn't been very helpful with this.

I'm 15+2 by the way, but not feeling definite movement yet, so nothing to go on from that. (And in any case with twins I'm not sure I'd be able tell from that if there was something wrong with one but not the other?)

What do we think – anything to worry about?

Ohnonotanotherusername · 05/11/2018 10:36

@newrubylane it's almost certainly fine and just something sex related. But give your midwife a ring, just for some reassurance.

italianwifey · 05/11/2018 11:13

@sodababy2 yes at the gender scan I had they told me I have an anterior placenta. I have felt the odd thing that feels a bit like wind/muscle twitch low down but I don’t feel certain about it being baby just yet! I’m only 17+3 so still time yet I’m sure. Sometimes it just feels a bit like I can feel something in there? But not really sure how to describe it, does anyone else get that?
@newrubylane try not to worry, it’s probably nothing to be concerned about but as @ohnonotanotherusername said maybe give the MW a cal?
@ohno , hope your scan goes well! Will you be finding out sex of baby today?

sodababy2 · 05/11/2018 11:20

I has this at just over 14 weeks @newrubylane - pink / red blood on wiping after sex. I phoned the midwife and she said that it was very common to have this. Apparently cervix is easily irritated up to about 16 weeks. The advice to me was keep an eye and they'd see me if it got worse but it was only on a couple of wipes.

@italianwifey don't worry about not feeling proper movement just now with anterior placenta then. It's still early too - but I know what you mean about feeling 'something there'. My SIL had anterior placenta and it was really odd - you could actually see her bump moving but she couldn't feel anything!

Good luck at 20 week scan @Ohnonotanotherusername! Mine's not for 3 weeks when I'll be 21 weeks.

newrubylane · 05/11/2018 11:31

Thanks @sodababy2, that's reassuring. It was only a tiny bit really and no sign of anything more. Gut feeling is it isn't anything major, but it's so hard not to worry! I will try my midwife too, but she was so unhelpful last time I tried her that I'm not holding out much hope!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/11/2018 13:03

Hello, please can I join? I’m on the May-ish thread as well as EDD was originally 4 May, but at the 12w scan it was moved forward a week to 27 April. This will be DC2 Smile

Ohnonotanotherusername · 05/11/2018 13:52

Scan was all fine! And we found out that we're having a boy

SPR1107 · 05/11/2018 14:11

Congratulations @Ohnonotanotherusername, lovely news.

Be interesting to see how many found out and how many of which are to be expected. I'm guessing by around 14th December, everyone will have had their 20 weeks scans?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 05/11/2018 14:28

Welcome newbies :)
Congratulations @Ohnotanotherusername

I’ve semi decided not to find out but my friend told me that it was so obvious she was having a boy on her scan so it will be interesting if I see anything, I have an extra scan this week due to early labour last time.

sodababy2 · 05/11/2018 14:34

Congratulations @Ohnonotanotherusername! Did you have any inkling?

Agree @SPR1107 - perhaps we can use the due date chart and add on if we're team blue, team pink or team yellow?

I'm firmly in the team yellow camp!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 05/11/2018 14:57

Assuming yellow is not finding out? Grin

Ohnonotanotherusername · 05/11/2018 15:02

@sodababy2 weirdly I did! Before I got pregnant, whenever I thought of the prospect of a baby I imagined it would be a girl. As soon as I got pregnant that switched to a boy, it was so strange.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/11/2018 15:40

Congratulations, Ohnonotanotherusername! Such lovely news.

My 20w scan is on 10 Dec. We’ll be team yellow, unless baby decides to make it obvious!! Saying that, even if baby is a boy and willy-waving, I can never work out what I’m supposed to be seeing on the scan so probably wouldn’t register anyway.

SPR1107 · 05/11/2018 15:44

Willy-waving

We're team yellow too... I want to find out, but I don't, but I do, but I don't... so we're not haha

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/11/2018 15:48

SPR1107 we were team yellow with DS. Honestly, it’s the best feeling ever when you find out. The most important part of my (simple) birth plan was that I wanted DP to tell me the sex when baby was born. Such a cherished moment for both of us. It’s hard to say no at the scans when they ask if you want to know, but stick with it - it’s worth it.
