Anyone still running as part of their exercise regime? I've scaled way back on distance and don't even track my speed anymore but have gotten a (hopefully irrational) fear now that it may affect blood flow to the placenta. Just looking for reassurance really!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 01/11/2018 16:51

My only knowledge of running in pregnancy is the episode of the sex & the city with Charlotte Grin I think if your body is used to it you’ll be fine.
I’m going to venture to pregnancy yoga soon :)

starrrgazer · 01/11/2018 18:52

Haha, I'd take that! I've been running all along but think I'm just a bit of a mess emotionally today so thinking of all the things that can go wrong! (Thanks brain)!

Ah lovely, I've been looking into that and antenatal swimming - mainly to meet other pregnant people as I'm the first in my social group so I'm a bit alone!

AlbaGirl8 · 01/11/2018 19:59

16 week appointment today! Was lucky enough to hear wee one’s heartbeat thudding away like a steam train (after nodding and promising I wouldn’t freak out if she couldn’t find it - I mean, of course I’d freak out!) 5 days sickness/ nausea free, feeling on cloud 9 finally! Not getting my hopes too high though, very aware it could be back any minute! X

Singlemummyto5 · 01/11/2018 23:25

Sorry ladies but I really need to have a whinge, after a relentless day of toddlers trashing the house, asking the same question 10 times, constantly saying why and wanting to know why the neighbour no lobo er has sticks and bubble wrap in their garden (they had laid grass seed lol) I am ready to bang my head on the wall!
I am 17+4 still feel nauseous all day every day (being sick most days) constipation, permanent exhaustion, aches and pains everywhere, shortness of breath and feel like a whale already haha oh and I cried last week because I for got to give my sons his tinned stuff for the harvest festival haha I'm wondering how I'm ever going to cope in 10 weeks time lol
Sorry just needed to get that off my chest, I feel better now. But please tell me I'm not the only one still feeling rough

Treaclepie19 · 02/11/2018 07:55

Singlemummyto5 that sounds rough :(
I'm still heaving a lot but not being sick, constipated, achey and knackered.
My 3yo is wearing me down atm as im constantly tired.
Hope you start feeling better soon!

SPR1107 · 02/11/2018 08:29

@Singlemummyto5 I'm with you. The sickness is still going strong, the thought of all food makes me want to vomit, so every meal time is like hell and so tired all the time.. none of my jeans fit anymore and no chance I'm taking my 2 year old clothes shopping and the trapped wind is awful!

When does that 2nd trimester glow and energy increase kick in?!

17w exactly

Singlemummyto5 · 02/11/2018 09:07

Thank you @treaclepie19 I hope so too, I thought I would be feeling at least a bit better by now.

@spr1107 I really sympathise although glad I'm not the only one, makes me feel a little more normal haha no I've done all my shopping online as didn't want to take a 2 and 4 year old with me as the like to touch everything and absolutely need everything lol

I do remember feeling sick till 28 weeks with my first but I was never this exhausted, I just want to sleep all the time. Based on the sickness beng so similar Im placing bets on this lo being a boy haha x

Hey all, I'm sure this has been mentioned by others but until my appointment with doppler on Weds I'm nervous! After weeks and weeks of increasing morning sickness, yesterday and today it's just gone! 16wks 3 days today so I know it does usually ease off around about now but it just seems so abrupt! I was sort of cherishing my sickness as it made me "feel" pregnant. Now I don't feel pregnant at all. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks, ladies.

Rosalind22 · 03/11/2018 12:22

@SharedLife I have felt exactly like this the last week or so! I haven't felt pregnant minus the bump that is growing! I had my flu jab Wednesday though and I got extremely lucky as they listened to babies heartbeat as I had to wait for the person who could jab me to be free so while I was waiting they took a listen which was lovely and everything was completely fine! So I hadn't felt pregnant at all all week but baby was okay! The midwife said it is completely normal at this stage and it's almost like a limbo period - we can't quite feel baby move yet but pregnancy symptoms ease off.

I was worried too (and to be honest even 3 days after hearing heartbeat I still have many moments of thinking 'are they still okay in there?!') but I keep telling myself to trust my body!

As the midwife said to me - stats are on our side now and unless you have severe cramping/bleeding the likelihood is little bean is doing absolutely fine!

Of course if you do have a genuine worry contact your midwife and they can reassure you! But otherwise you aren't alone In not feeling pregnant! (I am 15+2)

SharedLife · 03/11/2018 12:40

Rosalind22 thank you for that lovely reply. It has eased my mind a bit! It's frustrating though because no matter how much my logical brain knows I've no real cause for concern, my anxious brain still worries! Can't want till they are moving properly!

MigMog · 03/11/2018 15:06

Anyone else just totally knackered? Had a busy week and it's hit me. Shattered today. Lazing on the sofa.headachey. bunged up with a cold. My asthma is all wheezy off the cold too.

Week 16 has been my hardest one so far.

Waiting for the second trimester glow

Treaclepie19 · 03/11/2018 15:21

Totally @MigMog
I'm so, so tired. Considering leaving my husband and son downstairs while I "put washing away" (have a nap)

newrubylane · 03/11/2018 18:44

I feel you. I've been up and down a ladder all day painting the living room so now I'm super knackered and achey. But I've got the house to myself so I'm going to make myself something yummy for dinner and watch Strictly in bed Grin

Rosalind22 · 03/11/2018 19:42

Way TMI alert!!

Anyone else having really bad constipation? And when I can go it's (the TMI gets worse here) so hard and like a brick!! I have to spend like 30 mins on the loo pushing (I know this post sounds awful! So I am sorry To anyone having to read this!!)

Does anyone else have this? (I'm 15+2) I am also worried the pushing could hurt the baby as I have to push so hard! (Again I know that's way TMI and is probably a ridiculous thing to say!!)

starrrgazer · 03/11/2018 19:48

I take lactulose every few days if I haven't been eating enough fibre and it is so great! Totally harmless and super effective, would absolutely recommend grabbing some in the pharmacy! :)

Treaclepie19 · 03/11/2018 20:28

Lactulose. I'm taking it too, worth just taking a little bit a day (I only have 5ml or 10ml at the most as I'm quite sensitive to it) and it stops the hardness.

OP posts:
SheRaTheAllPowerful · 03/11/2018 22:03

@Rosalind the doctor gave me lactulose but also some glycerin supposititiries to to get it moving, you have my sympathy it’s the worst! X

italianwifey · 04/11/2018 08:17

Hi everyone just catching up. Sorry to hear some of you are suffering with headaches and nausea and constipation etc. I’ve been lucky with the latter two but had an awful
Headache here and there.
I’ve just been to h and m this weekend to get a few pairs of jeans as none of my skinnies fit me anymore- all
The good colours in my size were gone so have settled for some black ones and might go back next week!
For people that have felt movement with first baby, how far along were you when you noticed? I thought I had felt flitterings but now I’m not so sure! Can not wait to properly feel
Him move!

Rosalind22 · 04/11/2018 08:58

Thanks all! I will get myself some lactulose and give it a go! Isn't pregnancy such an attractive state to be in

SPR1107 · 04/11/2018 09:33

@italianwifey I got my jeans from ASOS, they've got a few different options of blues, black and grey, and do over and under the bump ones too, depending on what you'd rather.

I got a pair from Dorothy Perkins last pregnancy that are still in good condition, and I had another look on their website and they have some maternity jeans for £6 on there

ashley992 · 04/11/2018 11:13

@italianwifey I am sure I can feel the baby moving and I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. My partner put his hand on my tummy when it was wriggling around and said he felt faint movements too. It's my first
