Sorry TA I missed that post! Good idea, I'm sure if you wait a few more days your baby will show up on its own.

I always found that drinking on ABs makes me extremely pissed, extremely quickly daisy! Give it a go, you might like it!

hollyandalice · 16/06/2007 15:03

God, what have I done taking on the PA role! Sounds good though, I might do it!

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 15:07

Wouldn't want to upset the LO......mind you the heady combination of ABs, ADs, codeine and alcohol might pack some punch!!! LoL, I feel like a junkie.

I'm a bit concerned at playing pass the fungal infection with Em though...better lay in the canesten just in case!

hollyandalice · 16/06/2007 15:19

Wow, I'm really excited about the In The Night Garden toys (have you seen the ad banners?)!! It is my dd's fave show and the toys are lovely. They are not released til july 28th though, I want Upsy Daisy nowwww!!

riabutterflew · 16/06/2007 15:32

It's raining again here but so DAMNED HOT. My mum has just rung to check if it's ok with me if she goes to the supermarket! Bless.

DH is bathed, shaved and haircutted (and has even trimmed his mutant eyebrows) so is all ready for the photos with the baby. Only one thing missing...

My scan due date is tomorrow, but the consultant changed it to Tuesday.

DH just offered me a "favour"! In the middle of the afternoon?! He says he's only thinking of me...

riabutterflew · 16/06/2007 15:33

That could be a good name for daisy?

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 15:36

ooooh...like it...off to check whether its available or not.....daisy skips (well hobbles) away happily!!

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 15:38

......it belongs to someone else already

trendaverter · 16/06/2007 15:49

feeling very hot and ill and sick and dehydrated now

but plenty of something down below, not sure what, just twinges rather than contractions really. Oh well, if nothing else I walked off the giant packet of crisps I consumed this morning.

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 15:52

keep your fluids up TA......when I was getting all the false labour pains, i found that being dehydrated made things much much worse.

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 16:01

Real life beckons again...off to see the ILs to give FIL his card for tomorrow!

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 16:03

I have finished! oh joy!

Tomorrow I will give the garden a quick tidy. Am feeling very pleased with myself!

Toyed with the idea of going to the school fair, but only because they have KrisyKreme donuts stall. Probably sold out by now anyway.

I'll settle for a slice of lemon cheesecake and a cuppa.

claire74 · 16/06/2007 16:06

Hi there ladies, you probably don't remember me , as I've only managed to post on a few occasions, and as I'm only online every few days, found it very hard to keep up. However didn't stop me reading with interest and comparing your pregnancy gripes with my own.

I was due on the 14th June, and my punctual little fella arrived on the day! after a 2 day labour at home to reach the all important 3cm, then finally contractions picked up enough at 2:30am on the 14th to warrant going to hospital - got there at 4am and healthy boy was born at 11 am - so 8 hours roughly of established labour.

He was a healthy 7lb 7oz, and was born in the pool with a huge amount of gas and air!

We're struggling with a name to suit him - want to get it right.

Congratulations to everyone else, and TA can totally sympathise with your frustration, what is it with these prolong early labour phases. To say this is my second child didn't expect it at all.

Good luck to everyone still waiting - It is so worth it

will be joining antenatal thread - have such sore boobs!

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 16:10

Yea for Claire74! Congratulations to you and your DS! On time too.

Are you going to do a birth announcement with all the details? Please?

Keep in touch on here too, it can be lonely on post-natal thread by all accounts, anyone would think you've all had babies or something!

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 16:17

Congratulations Claire - look forward to catching up with you on the post natal thread - might be easier to follow when we all have squalling babies to keep us occupied (though, it's not like RL has stopped most of up till now!).

See TA, two days for Claire, it can still all be happening for you without any intervention. You might want to pop over to your other thread from this morning, think klaw and lulu may be getting excited by your absence!

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 16:18

Hi again Claire......and big congratulations on the birth of your DS

I hope you can settle on a suitable name soon......are you thingking of something traditional or more modern?

foxy...you're not bored yet???

Decided against RL......tummy feeling much too sore, and its weepy and horrible again . think I may have caught it just in time.

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 16:30

RL isn't all its cracked up to be IMHO!

Nope, not bored, but I am being pestered by chronic HB. Am feeling very relaxed and happy - although can't get hold of DP so he's obviously gone out for the day without his phone. Dur!

I've had all these jobs which I just haven't done for years, and they are done. These things make me happy. They also make me dull and boring, but happy!!!

Sorry to hear about your scar Daisy. Have you got anything natural/alternative to use? I really hope you don't get thrush again

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 16:33

Daisy, sorr you are having problems with your tummy. Hope it clears up soon, and you don't get the dreaded thrush while BF. Worrying about that myself and mine hasn't cleared up yet. Feeling very icky.

Feeling much better now I appeared to have made peace with my mother, for now anyway. We had another big fight a couple of days ago as I told her off for keep on saying "my baby" which I was finding a bit disturbing. She said I needed to get a sense of humour and it all escalated, plus I told her off (but in a mock way) for ringing me up every day asking if I was in labour yet, I said it was going to get a bit wearing if I was still her in 2 weeks and she was doing it, and she said she wasn't going to bother ringing me any more etc. etc. Been feeling pretty bad since then, but I sent her this with a message saying I thought she be a fab grandma, and this was for her to pass the time waiting for it to be born. She was really chuffed and we had a good "grown up" conversation today, so feeling much happier. Sorry, I'm probably boring you all with the ongoing saga of me and my mother! I'm sure I will appreciate her more when I have this baby and am a mother myself!

Daisy, have you tried tea tree oil for your scar?

Btw, anyone heard from DKMA recently?

OP posts:
foxybrown · 16/06/2007 16:38

no, nor sputnik

and Tullulahbelle's been very quiet today.

Don't they know how we worry???!

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 16:42

I've been taking arnica and the end that is fine looks great; nicley healed and scar like....the other end you can still see the edges of the incision in some places as it hasn't healed at all and its red and inflamed and oozing smelly goop (it's lovely...really it is!)

I don't fancy putting tea tree oil on what is effectively an open cut.....is it OK to do that...I imagine it would sting like f***

Ah well...it gives me another excuse for sitting on my fat arse doing bugger all, but I'm starting to get cabin fever here!

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 16:48

Hmm, I don't know daisy, but if you started a thread o it I'm sure some other people might have some experience of how to help things heel quicker.

Foxy, going back to our discussion of caulophyllum, is it ok to take it now do you think? I took one yesterday, and nothing happened, though I did feel slightly nauseous. Should I take a couple each day do you think? It's the 30c one.

OP posts:
foxybrown · 16/06/2007 16:54

how many weeks are you? you are over 38 aren't you?

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 16:54

I've got a list of other homeopathic remedies......but there isn't a Boots big enough to stock them except in town and I'm not up to that yet.

I suppose I could try on-line.

that book looks good bumper...I've heard her on R4. Is she any relation to Hugh?...that cuddly lump of culinary loveliness

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 16:56

Yep Foxy, due monday (eek!)

Daisy, I think it's his wife. Not seen the book in person myself but it got a couple of nice reviews.
