doggus · 15/06/2007 13:48

Holly, you naughty girl, I went straight to madeindevon's hair-raising account. God, I hope this wasn't in my hospital (she says selfishly). Still, all that ends well....

hollyandalice · 15/06/2007 13:49

Don't do it TA!! Hopefully your irregular contractions will get more regular

hollyandalice · 15/06/2007 13:50

Sorry doggus! Like you said it was all well in the end!

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 13:51

lol@flower comment

Even when I am really pissed off you do make me smile

might start timing these pains just to see if there is any pattern. Christ I bloody hope so.

hollyandalice · 15/06/2007 13:52

Oooo, do you think this might be it? I really hope it is. Have a nice hot bath and see if anything happens.

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 13:54

Honestly? No I don't think it's really it. I wish I could be more positive, I really do, but I have had so many false alarms the last couple of days I am beginning to think I am imagining the whole thing.

hollyandalice · 15/06/2007 13:55

Lol, my dp says mizog!! Is your dog ok?

lulumama · 15/06/2007 13:55

it will happen

don;t wait for the head to crown before you believe it!!

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 13:56

yeah he's sitting on the couch keeping me company. DH is leaving work at 4pm to take him off to the vet.
Bloody dog costs us a fortune in antibiotics, he's always eating things he shouldn't I feel like I have a toddler already

hollyandalice · 15/06/2007 13:59

I'm knackered, off for a nap! I expect you to be contracting every 5 mins when I get back! Only joking, have a nice rest whilst you can! xxx

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 14:00

Speak later Holly have a good nap!

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 14:54

Bloody long walk - am knackered now and lost any enthusiasm for nesting!

What's happening with those contractions TA?

Bumper, you can get the pesseries in Sainsburys or any other supermarket. I've been refused by a pharmasist before and gone straight down the road to the supermarket. Have exactly the same problem myself at the moment and wouldn't give using it a second thought. I just want it gone!

Re: Caulphyllium. It does seem to be harder to get. I got mine from here . They were very quick. Their order line number is 0845 230 1381.

It says of Caulophyllum 200c: To help if contractions slow or stop. The mother may be tired, chilly, shivery and thirsty. Dose: 1 tablet every hour as needed.

When I had DS1 my MW recommended Caulophyllum 30 to take from week 38, but I haven't seen it anywhere.

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 14:59

Hi Foxy, bloody nothing really. Still coming but completely irregular.

Feeling really depressed right now. I don't know why, perhaps just all the hormones getting to me, my brain feels like mulch, I have lost my appetite, I have lost common sense and confidence, having a poo day.

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 15:06

What is it today 41+5?

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 15:06

yup

daisyboo · 15/06/2007 15:11

Hi Guys...just checking in after a horrible night with Em up all bloodfy night. finally got some sleep at 6:30 this morning and slpet till 10:45....bliss....but she seems to have turned nocturnal. We think she might just prefer to sleep in the pram as it is a bit samller and more closed in than the crib. will try her in it all night tonight.

Congratulations DG.......and well done you for posting so quickly.

Congrats also to Auntymandy.....

sorry you're still waiting TA.....don't get too hung up on measuring the timings at the minute, it'll only make your labour seem very long and unproductive. Just try to go about your normal routine....difficult when that routing involves sitting aroung=d waiting for a baby to be born!!

Off to catch up on birth announcements, back later.

Good luck to Tallulah as well if they choose to induce you!

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 15:11

Got some Clary Sage or Jasmine Oil burning? Attack your nips with a toothbrush
Visualise your cervix opening! Go on!
sex
blow-jobs
fresh pineapple (7 should do it)
Mango juice
'hot' nandos chicken breast in pitta (worked for me!)
get some Caulphyllium
long walk

can't think of anything else

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 15:15

I remember those long, long nights. I have watched every episode of The Royale Family late night on UK Gold 3 times over. For some reason I've found that mine slept better in the living room, so I've had many, many nights next to them on the sofa! Then the penny dropped and we figured its because the bedroom temperature is lower than in the living room, so when we moved the baby, the change woke them up. That's our theory anyway.

I now have the moses basket. Yikes. The baby is real and now has a bed.

Better go and wash the covers.

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 15:17

Thanks Foxy!

Well I do have ring of fire today after eating some illegally spicy chicken fajitas last night - I am considering pulling out the breast pump for some dry pumping - I am doing a few bits of it!

At the moment I have times my pains to ABOUT every 6 minutes, give or take a minute either side. BUT I am not holding my breath because I have had this before, just letting you know!

pinguthepenguin · 15/06/2007 15:23

Hi Ladies

What a palaver! I went along to the so-called drop-in clinic for a check-up (im a week overdue today) and it was finished. Apparently it runs only from 11-12pm, so I had missed it. The receptionist tells me to ring the midwife desk at the hospital and they might see me there, so I rang the hospital, only to be told it was closed to the public as they were completely full. 'Oh','what if I went into labour today?' I said. Her reply?....well you would be putting yourself and your baby at risk if you ignored me and showed up here anyway'.

I was dumbstruck.

To cut a long story shortish, I finally got hold of the community midwife, who reluctantly came to the house, and gave me a sweep. The damn thing is painful eh? On a more positive note, I am fully effaced and 2-3cm dilated!

x

pinguthepenguin · 15/06/2007 15:25

ohhhh TA! how exciting!

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 15:27

Well bollocks to her!

But yea! to your cervix!

When I was in labour with DS2 I phoned the hospital to tell them I was coming in. They told me not to bother, that if I did I'd probably have to deliver in the waiting room.

Nice!

trendaverter · 15/06/2007 15:28

Bloody hell pingu that's a pile of shit
I have little faith in our NHS sometimes

Good that you had the sweep anyway, even though if it was anything like mine you feel like the bitch was trying to rip you in two.

Fully effaced and 2-3cm is BRILLIANT though! I was only 75% and 1cm

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 15:28

Now we need an update from Tullulahbelle. Perhaps we'll have 3 babies on their way!

bumperlicious · 15/06/2007 15:28

Ok, my afternoon with DH didn't go to plan as his nesting instinct has kicked in so he has decided to clear out the spare room, which appears to involve reading through an enormous pile of magazines "to see which ones he wants to chuck out" (er - all of them!)

Foxy, I got Caulophyllum 30 from Neal's yard, but not sure when to take it.
