@lulabell have a look in your maternity notes because mine have a list of when my appointments should be. It’s every 3-4 weeks I think until 34 weeks and then every 2 weeks for first baby. That’s odd that they didn’t just book you an appointment at your last one. Hopefully you get them sorted soon.

AliceRR · 28/09/2018 21:24

@Yakadee I have had a couple of friends and a colleague do it which isn’t ideal but someone in a shop who I don’t know... it really bothered me!! x

powkin · 28/09/2018 21:44

@Lulabell1 I can scan mine if you want and email to you?

Lulabell1 · 28/09/2018 21:51

The thing is ladies i dont even have notes!! I never get handed anything everything is on a app on my phone and they upload it all to it every appointment its all very technical and different than when i had DD!! I take it i should book for 24week app then Hmm

Lulabell1 · 28/09/2018 21:52

@powkin thankyou think im going to book for 24weeks and then ask her to give me a sheet for future bookings x

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/09/2018 00:06

I thought 28 weeks was the next appointment.. following the 16 week appointment and the 20 week scan?

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/09/2018 00:08

Yeah, 28 weeks... unless it’s your first.

Been awake since around 4.30am. Needed a wee but think it was really never ending acid reflux, urgh. Was slightly sick before bed so imagine it’s been going on all night! Have tossed and turned and listened to a podcast but have finally given up :( I want to be asleep!!!

twiglet · 29/09/2018 07:57

@powkin it's so frustrating I know most nights I'm awake for 1- 2 hours at some unearthly time.
Gaviscon is your friend although is horrible I was taking the sachets like shots last night I also find chamomile tea helps.

Alicejj8x · 29/09/2018 08:08

My last midwife at 16 weeks said I need to book in one at 25 weeks with the doctor then I'm back to midwife at 28 weeks

stepmummamumma · 29/09/2018 08:14

Placemarking please..😁

powkin · 29/09/2018 08:38

@twiglet - the waking up is getting more regular. I went back up to bed around 7.45 to read for a bit and was nodding off when some monster started using a circular saw out on a very residential street (there’s maybe 3 houses being gutted at the same time). Surely only a sociopath does this on a Saturday morning?

Baby160P · 29/09/2018 08:45

I got in from a sober night out at 2am when the baby decided to let me feel movements for the first time and have a tummy rave!

twiglet · 29/09/2018 08:48

@powkin very evil indeed I don't understand trades people who work Saturdays! Our builder starts at 10 finishes at 6-7ish and doesn't work weekends it's the best way no neighbours get annoyed and he avoids traffic!

Really bad nights I've taken to cleaning/sorting stuff in the hope of tiring myself out, I cleaned the tiling grout the other week with an old toothbrush..... Afternoon naps also help when coming home from work.

lanalawr · 29/09/2018 09:14

Best way to end a sober night out @Baby160P !

@twiglet do you fancy helping out here too? I still feel like we're knee deep in brick dust. Shock Getting quotes for a new boiler over the next few days. I can't wait to have heating and hot water!

Feeling more and more movements now. I've got an anterior placenta again but can feel so much more than with dd.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/09/2018 09:23

Might not be a tradesperson.. me and my partner do our own stuff where possible, and working full time means starting early on a weekend. Quite often hear belt sanders, circular saws, jack hammers, whacker plates, cement mixers etc. starting at the crack of dawn...

No other way! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

twiglet · 29/09/2018 09:49

@lanalawr haha its usually about 3am so if you're awake to let me in..... Lol we had a load of plaster dust I've found damp J cloths work!
I realise this makes me sound like a clean freak I'm usually pretty laid back I just find it tires me out so that I can sleep my DH finds it bonkers!

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/09/2018 09:59

Ugh I had a crap night sleep too, DS has a cold/cough so has been waking up in the night. He only ever wants a quick cuddle or his dummy back (that's going tomorrow night, pray for us) and DH gets up but it still disturbs me, then he woke at 6:45am which is typical as he sleeps until gone 7 in the week usually. I appreciate that doesn't sound bad at all but DS has been such a dream sleeper I'm not used to sleep deprivation, I'm dreading that side of having a newborn!

No to tradespeople on a Saturday, not that early any way! The carpenter did come to ours on two Saturdays when our work was being done but he didn't start until gone 9am and it was only for a few hours. I know our work really got on our attached neighbour's nerves as they started at 8-8:30am every week day morning, but they were finished by 4pm. She's a SAHM to two teenage boys so it only annoyed her because she's around ALL the time!

lanalawr · 29/09/2018 10:07

@twiglet thanks for the tip. I'd noticed it came up better with lots of dettol spray. Didn't think of using a damp cloth though. Baby brain. 🙄

Fingers crossed for dropping the dummy @Lookingforadvice123. Does he know they're going?

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/09/2018 10:29

lanalawr thanks! He does, he's way too old at 2.9 but he only has it to sleep, and in the past few months we've done potty training/change of nursery/starting a new play group (Meithrin!) so it's been put off. We've been reading a couple of books about it, and he knows the "dummy fairy" will bring him a present, but I still think it'll be tough!

chocpop · 29/09/2018 11:01

Haven't posted on this thread in a long time, glad to see everyone's doing well and having their 20 week scans!
I'm 22 weeks today and everything on our 19 and 21 week scan (had to go back again because the baby wouldn't move and we couldn't get all of the views of the heart) looks good which was a massive relief! We also got confirmation again that our baby looks to be a little girl (we went for a gender scan at 17 weeks).

Haven't felt any movement yet which is annoying but hopefully soon, I think we just have a very sleepy baby in there haha.

AliceRR · 29/09/2018 12:15

Sorry to hear those not sleeping well. I didn’t sleep well either. Has backache and woke up with backache 🙄

Still sitting in bed. All I’ve managed to do so far today is go downstairs for some Crunch Nut Cornflakes and come back up

Since2016 · 29/09/2018 12:46

Urgh to crap sleep - I had hideous third trimester insomnia last time so not looking forward to that... also I’m already fed up of being massive 😫 bought a new dress (Zara) and it’s lovely but I am HUGE. I feel like if I wear anything not fitted it makes me look bigger but then I’m self conscious in v fitted stuff as not as slim as I was before DD... sorry just whinging...

Since2016 · 29/09/2018 12:48

But DH bought me flowers (our anniversary was Thursday) on way back from post office / dog walk which was lovely so a little cheered up!

lanalawr · 29/09/2018 13:06

@Lookingforadvice123 lots of changes for him recently! They're surprisingly resilient though. Hopefully the present from the fairy will help a bit. We're also looking to start Meithrin. Going to see one on Monday and on the waiting list for another at the moment.
I'm with you on feeling huge @Since2016 ! A neighbour asked me the other day if I was due at Christmas. Shock She's pregnant and due a month later than me and it's not her first so no excuse.
