@Yakadee. Maybe it is the Bio Oil then? Did you keep using it when you got itchy? I’ve heard that stretch marks are difficult to prevent anyway. Friend recommended Bio Oil but not sure if it’s worth continuing?

Yakadee · 08/10/2018 21:55

I'm not sure if it was, I never thought about it at the time as just put it down to stretching. The only time I've been itchy this pregnancy is when I put some cream on. It was just that once and I haven't bothered since. It might just be a coincidence but might be worth a try? X

Celebelly · 08/10/2018 22:20

Stretch marks occur too deep in the layers of the skin for creams or oils to make any difference - you either get them or you don't, it's genetic. I think they can help lessen their appearance after they've arrived, but if you're going to get them you'll get them regardless sadly.

hayley013 · 08/10/2018 22:56

I'm getting a mega itchy bump at the moment, but as soon as I rub some bio oil on the itching stops. I put it down to dryness and stretching, but sounds different to yours @bubblybrit

fizzledays · 09/10/2018 05:38

I have stretch marks on my boobs already 😩😩

Yakadee · 09/10/2018 06:14

Random but do you think this is OK? I slipped / fell down last 4 or so stairs (my own fault for going down stairs in the dark - oops!). I just fell on my backside like a sack of spuds! Baby will be fine right? X

Baby160P · 09/10/2018 06:34

@Yakadee they're pretty well protected in there. I was in a car accident at 12 weeks. Personally still injured and baby was fine. Try not to worry.

Baby160P · 09/10/2018 06:35

It's scan day for me! Not until 2:15 😩

I have possibly woken up about 20 times in the night and had about 10 dreams of gender and giving birth.

Soooo tireddddddd.

Off to work for the morning 😴

Wames90 · 09/10/2018 06:36

Me too @fizzledays 😩. The beauty of pregnancy!

@Yakadee I hope you’re okay! I’m sure baby will be fine if you landed on your bottom and didn’t hit your tummy at all. You’ll probably just feel a bit tender for a few days.

emalady · 09/10/2018 06:36

@yakadee hope you are ok. Baby should be fine if you landed on your bottom. They have a fair amount of padding. Have you been having movement regularly? If so that should be reassuring.

Wames90 · 09/10/2018 06:37

@Baby160P I hope your scan goes well later! I hope work is a good distraction for you until your scan!

emalady · 09/10/2018 06:37

@baby160p good luck for the scan and for being able to concentrate at work before!!!

Yakadee · 09/10/2018 06:40

Thanks everyone. Yes, she's a wriggler these days! I hurt my hand more than anything. Wasn't a bad fall but you over think everything when pregs!

Good luck for your scan @Baby160P - these afternoon appointments are a killer! X

Alicejj8x · 09/10/2018 07:24

@Baby160P good luck with your scan xxx

AliceRR · 09/10/2018 08:01

Hope you are ok @yakadee

I did exactly the same and was coming on here for some reassurance!!

I fell slipped / fell down some stairs last night. I landed mainly on my bottom / left arm. I hurt my elbow and took the skin off. Didn’t hurt myself badly anywhere else but must have landed heavily enough of my bum

I’ll be ok but worrying about baby obviously

Definitely didn’t fall on my bump and have no pain or anything there and felt some movement last night

Just hope everything is ok

Feel silly for not being more careful

Yakadee · 09/10/2018 08:26

@AliceRR - not you too! I know, it was my own fault - rushing about! I feel fine and like you have felt baby so I'm sure she'll be fine in there. I'm glad nobody was around to see me 🤦‍♀️

twiglet · 09/10/2018 08:44

Don't feel silly centre of gravity has shifted due to bump so it throws your balance off and what you would usually expect.

Main thing is that if you feel baby moving and have no pain/bleeding then all is OK. You can also call your midwife if concerned. My friend fell down the stairs at 36 weeks the above advice is what she said to me as she knows I'm accident prone!

AliceRR · 09/10/2018 09:06

Thanks twiglet

Since2016 · 09/10/2018 09:48

Don’t worry I fell last week at nursery - twisted my ankle and bashed my knee - fell into the buggy! All fine - I get dizzy spells quite often at the moment and as PPs have said - your centre of gravity is shifting!

AliceRR · 09/10/2018 10:47

Well I was wondering whether I had a dizzy spell or what as I had just got out of bed but did pause and didn’t think I was half asleep but it seemed like one minute I was walking down the stairs and the next minute I was falling and slipping!

Lookingforadvice123 · 09/10/2018 12:47

Everyone with an anterior placenta, do you feel regular movement throughout the day? I feel this little guy move loads when I lie down in bed for the night, including strong enough to feel on the outside, but during the day, even sat still at my desk in work, I barely feel anything all day long. I'm 20+6. I can't remember how much I was feeling DS (posterior placenta) at this stage but it was definitely more than this, as I was feeling him regularly throughout the day by 23 weeks.

I know it's normal so I'm not worried as such but just wondering when I can expect more regular movement through the day.

DragonFlew · 09/10/2018 13:41

@Lookingforadvice123 I have an anterior placenta (more than half of pregnancies have anterior placentas!) as your uterus grows it moves up and the baby becomes much bigger and stronger so you can feel more. I have the same pattern as you, again it is normal because during the day your movements and voice soothe baby to sleep - so at nighttime they are awake - and of course you notice it more because you're not distracted by other things! Don't worry it all sounds perfectly normal :)

DragonFlew · 09/10/2018 13:42

@Baby160P good luck at your scan! Hope all goes well! Mine is on Friday and I cannot wait! :D

Alicejj8x · 09/10/2018 13:53

@Lookingforadvice123
I'm
20+6 too and also have a anterior placenta.

I am the exact same occasionally I feel her move in the day if I'm sat down but it's no where near as when I'm
At home lying down or getting into bed

When we walk around and talk we soothe babies to sleep :) so it sounds perfectly normal to me Hun xxx

AliceRR · 09/10/2018 14:18

@yakadee just FYI I called MW just for some reassurance. She said baby is well cushioned and if I didn’t hit bump and no pain or bleeding then sounds fine bur to take paracetamol if in pain
