June 2019 - The Early Birds

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 16:22

Hello there,

A new thread for those who are due in June 2019. The Early bird catches the worm! Or, in my case, the sickness.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and make yourself at home.

I'm Sarah, 28, and currently super-early into my pregnancy at 3+1. This will be my second child, and I have in the past, and currently still do, suffer from HG (severe morning sickness).

So come one, come all, let us start our journey with sticky thoughts! Welcome, to the June 19 bus!

@OrcinusOrca I had a private scan on Tuesday, I thought I was further along than I was though. Still saw a yolk sac and she said it was looking good, and since then my anxiety has been really low and I feel much calmer. At least I know it's in the right place and is starting to grow, and I can't control whatever happens next but it has reassured me a lot knowing it's not ectopic etc. I'm going back next week to see if there's a heartbeat.

Kescilly · 11/10/2018 10:30

Interesting, I had read that private scans were nice because they can spend more time with you. We are getting one done because we don’t want to wait till twelve weeks (or longer) to find out that something is wrong.

I’ve been pretty disappointed with my NHS experience since I got pregnant, which is unfortunate because my earlier experiences were fine. It’s gotten me so down that I’m actually considering going back to my home country for medical care if this pregnancy works out.

jacquejacque · 11/10/2018 10:31

@OrcinusOrca oh I didn't know that, that's a bit worrying in itself Sad

jacquejacque · 11/10/2018 10:33

@OrcinusOrca oh and I worked from home yesterday and got sweet FA done so now I'm working from work - which actually means I'm holed up in a little office talking to you and mainlining ginger beer, mini cheddars and Rennies in a bid to feel more human Grin

OrcinusOrca · 11/10/2018 10:42

Oh @jacquejacque a lady after my own heart Grin

So sorry to have worried you, it was another MN thread! I feel like you'll get good and bad everywhere and surely some of the people working in those places must have done NHS before and so be on the same wavelength with what they're looking for. Ignore me! You know when one thread sticks in your head and it's probably not very reflective of everybody's experiences? This is probably one of those. I am definitely leaning more towards early private scan from what you ladies are saying tbh Blush

jacquejacque · 11/10/2018 10:53

@OrcinusOrca no no I would rather be prepared, don't apologise! I'm the same, I read everything I can possibly read on a subject and some facts stick more than others. I'll be about 7 weeks at mine, am 5 weeks today, but I just feel like the not knowing is worse than the bad news right now. Let us know what you decide Smile

MadeInCornwallx3 · 11/10/2018 10:58

@OrcinusOrca Hiya! Yep I work from home. I have no motivation at the moment it's awful. I just want to curl up on the sofa 😭 Really need to find a way to get motivated!

I have an early scan booked for 8+6 at a local private place. I had early scans with both my previous and found them reassuring to know everything was ok at that point. It certainly eased a bit the stress of 12 weeks for me. Obviously things can go wrong but they could at any point I suppose and seeing a strong heartbeat at 8/9 weeks really helped me.

Blondcat · 11/10/2018 11:39

Morning ladies I'd like to join you if that is OK. Thanks @kescilly for letting me know about this thread.

I am 37 expecting #1 4+1 today got my bfp on Tuesday making edd 18/19th June as I have 27 day cycles (mw told me last time they use 28 until 12 scan anyway hence the two dates). Excited and scared in equal parts after mc at 6+1 in April. Focusing on the positives today I am pregnant and determined not to let worry win (bit of a worrier anyway but didn't change anything last time... So pma for me). Got flu jab tomorrow and mw appointment on 2nd November when I will be 7+2.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 11/10/2018 11:57

Welcome @Blondcat !

Congratulations!

I also have a flu jab tomorrow - my 2yo was having hers so I thought I may as well too.

Seems to be perfectly safe this early from what I've read. Not looking forward to all the needles I'll be subjected too - I'm Rhesus Negative so it's a lot 😫

rollerskaterdata · 11/10/2018 12:05

Welcome to all the new ladies, and sorry to hear about your previous mc @Blondcat, I hope this bean is a sticky one for you x

So I've just got back home from my scan and all is well. I'm measuring 6+2 and we saw the baby with a nice strong heartbeat 😊 annnnnddddd relax! Well at least for the next few days until I remember I have 6 whole weeks left until my next one 😳 ha!

rollerskaterdata · 11/10/2018 12:06

@MadeInCornwallx3 I had my flu jab about a week ago and all is well so perfectly safe. I hate needles too 😖

Blondcat · 11/10/2018 12:07

@madeincornwallx3 yup I have also read it is fine at any stage and actually not having it and getting flu much worse risk. I have had it the last two winters paid for by me (after getting nasty flu a few years ago!) and it is fine doesn't really hurt as tiny needle. Feel fine after apart form a sore arm for a day or two trick is to relax arm as much as possible as then muscle is not tense apparently and did make it a bit better last year trying to relax it a bit.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 11/10/2018 12:17

@Blondcat good advice - I need to remember that for the many I have to come 😩.

Yay @rollerskaterdata so happy it all went well! Is that where you dated yourself? How amazing are first scans 😍.

I almost want to bring mine forward but have decidedly go after ds birthday so if there was an issue it wouldn't affect it.

pollykins151 · 11/10/2018 12:22

Ladies I am at dentist for a filling later today. Just thought there's no problem having a filling is there?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Blondcat · 11/10/2018 12:26

@pollykins151 this is the NHS guide www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/teeth-and-gums-pregnant/ which basically says discuss with dentist

pollykins151 · 11/10/2018 12:28

@Blondcat yeh I saw that hehe thanks 😊😊 just wondered if anyone had any inside knowledge or experience

pollykins151 · 11/10/2018 12:29

Called the dentist they said it's fine (shame haha)

Littlemissamy · 11/10/2018 12:34

Ladies, I’m teally struggling. My mental health has taken a massive dip, I can’t stop crying because I’m so anxious and convinced that everything is going to go wrong. The midwife has already said on the phone she’ll sort me out with an early scan due to previous losses, do you think if I call her, she’ll send me sooner? My appt with her isn’t until the 23rd, and I could really do with some sleep before then :(

KoalasAteMyHomework · 11/10/2018 12:38

@pollykins don't think so but I'd tell the dentist in case there's anything in the anaesthetic or if they want to x-ray.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 11/10/2018 12:39

Sorry just seen that you've called now!

PurrMaid · 11/10/2018 12:40

Welcome to all the newbies and congrats on BFPs 😁
@rollerskaterdata Glad to hear your scan went well! I date myself at 6+2 so great to hear you heard the heartbeat...I have my early scan a week today and was worried it might be to early.
Big love to all those suffering with anxiety in these early days, I am too, and completely wishing the days away!

SassehMonsta · 11/10/2018 12:44

@Littlemissamy, call her back! Theres no harm in asking, worst she can say is "no".

I am at work, and can't concentrate. Just the constant nausea is getting me down, I feel so vile.

fee1234 · 11/10/2018 12:55

@Littlemissamy you poor thing, I sympathise and I know how bad it can get in the early days. I felt that way a week ago and the early scan really reassured me, even though it was early and not much to see.

Maybe call midwife and see if they can get you in earlier? Or if you were to go private you could check if there is a babybond clinic near you as they do scans from 6 weeks.

Torsz · 11/10/2018 13:04

I just booked in for my flu jab - thank you for the reminder! Initially the receptionist thought she couldn't book me in until I've had my first midwife appointment but then she saw on my notes that I'm pregnant (purely as I phoned to inform them a few weeks ago!) so said she could 😂

LivingOnAPear · 11/10/2018 13:12

Welcome and congrats to all the newbies.

I’m feeling really sick today so struggling to look after my toddler. She pooed in the bath this morning which was very unpleasant.

Tried to book a midwife yesterday and totally failed. things have got complex since I had my dd. Last time I just booked the midwife at the local children’s centre and then decided where to give birth later. Now they are saying I need to know now as if I want to give birth at a hospital in the next county I have to see a midwife in a different area to where I live. I don’t know why the notes and info can’t be shared between two areas as I’m pretty sure that’s what they did in the past. So a bit annoyed that I have to make a decision at this point especially as I just want to get through the first trimester.

Sorry rant over. I’m very moody at the moment. Wasn’t like this with my prev pregnancies.
