June 2019 - The Early Birds

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 16:22

Hello there,

A new thread for those who are due in June 2019. The Early bird catches the worm! Or, in my case, the sickness.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and make yourself at home.

I'm Sarah, 28, and currently super-early into my pregnancy at 3+1. This will be my second child, and I have in the past, and currently still do, suffer from HG (severe morning sickness).

So come one, come all, let us start our journey with sticky thoughts! Welcome, to the June 19 bus!

@hopefulbabydust123 I’m wondering when to tell my boss too. I work in a busy pharmacy, with it’s fair share of lifting,

beardotdo · 08/10/2018 15:34

Posted too early.
Yeah, lots of lifting and rushing around in my job too. Don’t know when to tell them. No one knows except DH, and that’ll be the case (unless I tell work) until I have a scan.

Mrsssmith11 · 08/10/2018 15:45

I think your safety and that of your baby has to come first, so if you would need a risk assessment you totally should tell them.

Kescilly · 08/10/2018 16:03

I think if you’re worried about lifting things, you need to tell them sooner rather than later.

I feel like I’m the only one here without nausea, which makes me wonder if I’m lucky or unlucky. Also I tried Peacocks for a comfy bra but they were all too small. M&S then?

How’s everyone feeling today?

hopefulbabydust123 · 08/10/2018 16:10

Thankyou all for your advice :)
@kescilly feeling fine today thanks I haven't really had any symptoms apart from the odd cramp during the day and feeling sick once or twice a day. Some people may think I'm lucky but it's just so worrying I don't feel pregnant

hopefulbabydust123 · 08/10/2018 16:11

@kescilly how are you feeling today?

Napssavelives · 08/10/2018 16:29

I’m about 4 weeks. Having lots of creamy dishage (sorry tmi!) and lower back pain. I forgot how scary these early days are, worrying that everytine I go to the loo I’m going to see blood

carlyb · 08/10/2018 16:36

Hi all. Can I join, I'm 6+1 I think, due the 2nd June. Had a MMC last October so this is our 1st pregnancy since then and our 1st baby! Super nervous obviously, but symptoms have been much stronger this time. The past few days I haven't been feeling as sick, but I'm exhausted...up and down 4 times a night, having one or two naps a day and nipples are so sore!
So lovely to see there's so many on here with June babies! X

Kescilly · 08/10/2018 17:17

Welcome to our newbies! There's a list going around with estimated due dates, if you care to add yourselves and repost.

@hopefulbabydust123 I feel great today, which makes me nervous! I'm due for a private early scan in a few weeks, but with a lack of symptoms, I don't feel confident that we will see anything there. Nothing to do but continue on for the next couple weeks.

I know it's silly, but I'd really love a June baby. My mother and I both have June birthdays and I always liked sharing that with her.

Pawpatrolandprosecco · 08/10/2018 17:26

Hi ladies

Can I join!?!
I got my bfp on Saturday this will be #2 for me.
I think I’m just over 4 weeks?

My little boy is 4 in November!

Can’t believe it, it hasn’t sunk in yet!

X

MadeInCornwallx3 · 08/10/2018 17:50

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations on your BFP's!

Those worried about heavy lifting - I would definitely either tell your line manager or someone in HR, it's such a relief when someone else looks out for you too, especially if you're in a physical job.

I work from home in PR/comms so do need to tell the girl I'm working with but she's currently away. Want to do it face to face.

@Kescilly I'm not feeling nauseous either! Only 5+1 though and think in previous pregnancies it's come later and then gone by 11/12 weeks. Have the sore boobs and lower heaviness/ crampy feeling though.

Torsz · 08/10/2018 18:03

@kescilly I’ve been thinking the same - I’m a june baby and would love to have that in common! It’s silly really but feels extra special 😆

SockQueen · 08/10/2018 18:12

I'm a June baby too - in fact this one is due (I think) the day after my birthday! I think it will be a nice thing to share, though I also remember the downside of constantly having exams on my birthday right through school and university. DH is fretting a bit about having a summer-born child and how that will affect their performance at school (his birthday is October and DS's is September) but I've pointed out to him that I've done ok for myself! Wink

Regarding work, you are entitled to have a risk assessment done and they should make reasonable adjustments for you. Heavy lifting is a bit of a spectrum, so it's difficult to say exactly what you should/shouldn't be doing. I think I got a risk assessment at about 10 weeks last time, and told a few people at work earlier than that, because I work occasionally with X-rays and some harmful chemicals, so needed to avoid those. I'm more worried about telling them this time as I've had some anonymous feedback from someone saying I "need better childcare" (not even sure what they mean by this) so my being pregnant again is not going to make them happy. Sad

chipsandburger · 08/10/2018 18:16

@Napssavelives I'm exactly the same. I just keep thinking I'll go to loo see blood or my gp next week will do a test and it'll be negative.

chipsandburger · 08/10/2018 18:17

I'm thinking of booking a early scan to put my mind at ease.

Napssavelives · 08/10/2018 18:21

I’m 100% booking an early scan around 8 weeks. Bled with both DS in early pregnancy so had scans and saw they were ok which really helped. THere is no way I’m waiting until 12 weeks !

pollykins151 · 08/10/2018 18:43

@Napssavelives yes I bled with my dd for about the first two months. Am having the same this time round. Today was the most I've had so far but I don't think any worse than I had last time. Trying not to worry as everything was fine last time but I'm going to mention it at my appointment next week and see if I can get an early scan. Last time my scan wasn't until 14 weeks is (though I had had several private ones at that point). 6w today. Had a little cry at work after a trip to the loo. If that keeps up someone will son ask what's going on 🤦🏻‍♀️

MadeInCornwallx3 · 08/10/2018 18:48

I'm another one on the early scan train!

Had them with both previous pregnancies and it really helped calm my nerves. It's easier after the 20 week as you can feel them moving I think.

Booked this time for 8+6.

Love seeing that little peanut with the tiny flickering heartbeat 💗

rollerskaterdata · 08/10/2018 18:57

@fee1234 I also have a bloody UTI and am on cefelexin 😡 so annoying isn't it! Also think I have an ear infection and my nose piercing feels irritated. I'm falling apart already!

Torsz · 08/10/2018 19:01

My scan is 8am Thursday at 6+6. Counting down the hours!! But equally scared of bad news Confused

Iswallowtoothpaste · 08/10/2018 19:01

I don’t think I want an early scan until at least 9 weeks. I had a MMC last time and baby stopped growing at 9+3, so until I get past that stage or 10 weeks, I won’t be able to relax.

Haven’t told anyone yet other than a close friend who I can trust and who supported me through my last M/C, DP and obviously my GP! That’s so unlike me, I’m usually wanting to sing it from the rooftops!
Not going to tell my mum as she blames my last two M/C’s on my weight and made me feel really awful about it, I feel awful about this one too, feel as though I haven’t given him/her a proper chance by having so much extra weight on. Didn’t expect that I would conceive so quickly, it took us 2.5 years with the last one and just over two months after ERPC with this one.

Just had my brother on the phone, his girlfriend, DD and DSD have all got this awful vomiting diarrhoea bug ‘Shigellosis’ I think it’s called. My brother and his DD were here on Saturday so I’m hoping and praying that we haven’t caught it! We’re all feeling ok so far so fingers crossed.

fee1234 · 08/10/2018 19:09

@rollerskaterdata it's the worst! 😩

I'm also on the early scan train.. I'm going tomorrow at 6+1. Wasn't going to go that early but the place is next door to my work and I walk past every day.. I nipped in last week and she was fairly confident we would see something this early, and if not they will do it again a few days or week later.

PurrMaid · 08/10/2018 19:56

I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow and still don’t particularly feel pregnant! Apart from sore boobs and tiredness, which I know are symptoms, I won’t be able to relax until the nausea kicks in. Got an early scan next thursday, which I’m so excited for, and anxious....arghh these early days are so stressful!

Napssavelives · 08/10/2018 20:16

When are we meant to go the to gp/refer ourselves to the midwife? I really can’t remember

LivingOnAPear · 08/10/2018 20:20

@iswallowtoothpaste so sorry to hear about your mum. That’s awful. I’m glad you have a supportive friend. Sounds like your mum has the same level of sensitivity as mine. I didn’t even tell mine when I had a MC but when I was pregnant with my dd she was constantly telling me that things I was doing (like exercise) would cause a MC. And I had a tiny sip of someone’s wine so she said my baby might have fetal alcohol syndrome.

@SassehMonsta glad that the drugs are helping and you feel a bit better

@ksjourney think I will try and get something for it this time. Was lucky last time in that I was unemployed and child free so could stay in bed all day.

@fee1234 glad you are feeling better. UTIs suck even more when you have other pregnancy issues to deal with.
