June 2019 - The Early Birds

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 16:22

Hello there,

A new thread for those who are due in June 2019. The Early bird catches the worm! Or, in my case, the sickness.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and make yourself at home.

I'm Sarah, 28, and currently super-early into my pregnancy at 3+1. This will be my second child, and I have in the past, and currently still do, suffer from HG (severe morning sickness).

So come one, come all, let us start our journey with sticky thoughts! Welcome, to the June 19 bus!

Hey girls, looking for support and advise, currently 6weeks today first time mum and 20yo, head was completely in the clouds for the first few days of finding out but thankfully I'm slowly getting there, just absolutely terrified because I'm completely in the dark about the majority of things. Any advise for me would be EXTREMELY helpful ☺️ thanks girls x

Beautifulblue · 05/10/2018 11:56

@Kourtney8192 congratulations & welcome. No advice will just say they're resilient little things so don't worry. You'll be fine Smile x

Stormwhale · 05/10/2018 12:46

@kourtney8192 - I remember feeling like that with my first. Have you had your booking in appointment? After that the appointments are sorted automatically. Try not to panic, it will all work out. So much of being a mum is instinct and the rest you learn along the way. You will be ok. Smile

@sassehmonster - I'm right there with you trying not to worry all the time. If I feel ok, i worry, if I feel rotten then I'm worried it's worse than it should be and means something is wrong.

I am so so tired today. I feel like I could fall asleep standing up. The exhaustion is just on a whole new level. 😴😴😴

Kourtney8192 · 05/10/2018 12:57

@Stormwhale yeah I've had my first appointment my first appointment at the hospital is on the 19th of October, getting my head used to it all now. Just a bit unaware of a few things. 😞😂

@Beautifulblue thank you girl

SylvanianFrenemies · 05/10/2018 13:18

Hi,

Just got my BFP today - very early days as I'm only 12 dpo.

I'm 40. Have 2 DCs aged 7 and 2, and had a miscarriage in March.

Scared, excited, stunned. Was just getting to thinking of stopping TTC, but very happy to be pregnant.

Due date is mid June but I'll be induced early, so might scrape into May.

Beautifulblue · 05/10/2018 14:18

@SylvanianFrenemies congratulations & welcome Smile

SockQueen · 05/10/2018 14:22

Just made my booking appointment for 23rd October! And now freaking myself out over whether I might feel less queasy today than yesterday. Hmm

Welcome @Kourtney8192 and @SylvanianFrenemies (excellent name!) Kourtney, do fire away if you think of any questions, hopefully one of us who's been through it before might be able to help.

Ksjourney · 05/10/2018 14:23

@SassehMonsta we're here for you. Uncertainty with your DH position must be quite stressful. Hopefully you both get some clarity on that soon. I will be getting basic minimum mat leave and so am going to start saving this month to help with the finances when I am off.

@Kourtney8192 welcome. I remember with my first having the same feeling that it wasn't real. Though the 24/7 HG definitely was a distraction. I realised that it was real when I booked for a private 8week scan and saw my now daughter wriggling about - it was amazing! Try to enjoy the journey.

Welcome @SylvanianFrenemies

Anyone else feeling really tired today? 😴😴😴 early night for me tonight (yawn)

pollykins151 · 05/10/2018 14:50

Hi to all the new joiners 👋🏻 I am sooo tired. Keep going to bed ridiculously early. DD had me up for an hour at 2am which didn't help. Yawwwnnnn!!!

Kourtney8192 · 05/10/2018 15:52

@Ksjourney thank you girl

MadeInCornwallx3 · 05/10/2018 16:09

Also hello to our newbies!

Also raising a hand here to tiredness! 🙋‍♀️

I just want to cocoon and sleep!

Kescilly · 05/10/2018 17:36

Congrats to our newbies! There's a list going around with everyone's due dates, so feel free to add yourselves.

I made a booking appointment with the midwife for the end of the month. I think the idea of seeing any healthcare professionals makes me nervous because I'm always worried I'm going to be yelled at for being fat.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a soft, non-wired bra that I could wear at home? I found my perfect one in the States when I lived there but after getting pregnant it's already uncomfortable.

SylvanianFrenemies · 05/10/2018 17:55

@kescilly try eBay. I got a good one from China for about £2. Can't remember the brand but I'm sure they'll be easy to find.

Littlemissamy · 05/10/2018 18:09

I got mine from Tesco, they’re really comfy!

Hi to all the newbies, there’s loss of us now :)

@kourtney8192 feel free to ask away, I’m certain that with this many ladies here at least 1 of us will be able to help :)

I feel so so sick today, this is going exactly how my previous HG pregnancies have gone. Nausea now and for the next few weeks but no relief of actually being sick. Bang on 11 weeks the non-stop physical sickness which will be great for like an hour. Then it’s Funtime Hospitaltime rolls eyes
I could well do without a big family wedding tomorrow where no one knows I’m pregnant so will need to try and hide my feeling of shit-ness!

Mummytomollyandbean · 05/10/2018 18:21

I've got my first maternity appointment Sunday! My OH has a genetic condition with his chromosomes so I'm offered a CVS test, not something I really want to have but as a family we have decided to do so I'm having an early appointment to make sure all my bloods are done in time for the test.

stellarfox · 05/10/2018 18:47

@SassehMonsta doesn’t seem to expensive for an ultrasound - maybe $60-$160 or so?

I haven’t had any pain today at all but TMI I did have one sudden bit of watery discharge and was worried it was going to be bleeding but it wasn’t, so hopefully that’s nothing to worry about.

I’m super tired too but jetlagged now too! Ive been going to bed at 9 most nights which it really nice in the autumn/winter anyway I think! 😊

What do you all do for work out of interest?

rollerskaterdata · 05/10/2018 19:29

@Littlemissamy I also had HG in my previous pregnancy and I feel dreadful right now, constantly feel sick. I'm sure the non stop vomiting will kick in soon 🤢 also about as tired as they come. Sigh.

I second the peacocks bra, got mine last week and lived in it since! Going to buy another couple tomorrow, they are only £5

Beautifulblue · 05/10/2018 20:50

I literally have no symptoms except maybe the odd vivid dream & slightly more thirsty than usual. Isn't it funny how we're all so different?! I had exactly the same with my previous pregnancy... I'm not complaining! Do feel for you guys with the sickness & sore boobs!

Stormwhale · 05/10/2018 21:35

DH is getting husband points tonight. Sudden serious fancy for strawberry laces. He immediately sourced every type of strawberry lace he could find. 10/10!
