June 2019 - The Early Birds

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 16:22

Hello there,

A new thread for those who are due in June 2019. The Early bird catches the worm! Or, in my case, the sickness.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and make yourself at home.

I'm Sarah, 28, and currently super-early into my pregnancy at 3+1. This will be my second child, and I have in the past, and currently still do, suffer from HG (severe morning sickness).

So come one, come all, let us start our journey with sticky thoughts! Welcome, to the June 19 bus!

Good luck @stellarfox. Thinking of you.

Kimbishop86 · 04/10/2018 15:17

@Mrsssmith11 How long has it been since you section? I hope you’re successful! Fingers crossed for us both!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 04/10/2018 15:18

@madamdarkin, please, please have a look at my thread from April/May/June this year, my tests weren’t getting any darker and CBD tests weeks weren’t progressing either! I know the pregnancy ended at 9+3 but I was very much pregnant up until that point and had seen a perfectly healthy baby and heartbeat at 7 weeks! I’ll try and find the link.

@stellarfox so pleased they’re getting you in for a scan. Fingers crossed for you

Kimbishop86 · 04/10/2018 15:19

@CatRen27 I think I would be the same in your situation! I think I’m just intrigued about labour as I had a planned section so didn’t have any contractions or anything! Don’t want to feel cheated out of the experience!

madamdarkin · 04/10/2018 15:21

@Iswallowtoothpaste so sorry about your loss! xxxx

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 15:36

Thanks for the info @SassehMonsta and @SockQueen! I don't know anyone who has given birth on the NHS so it's all new to me.

I'm thinking I need to book another appointment with the GP to mention the cramps and bleeding. I probably shouldn't ask about that and also my meds in one appointment, right? I was trying not to panic but now I'm wondering if the pregnancy already ended a week ago.

fee1234 · 04/10/2018 15:45

@Kescilly is there a early pregnancy unit near you that you could call? Mine have been great I've not even needed to use GP. Been calling them for all sorts of advice about cramps taking antibiotics and they have been so helpful.

Do you still feel pregnant, or have you taken any tests recently? Fingers crossed for you, hopefully what you experienced was just the baby embedding in x

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 15:54

@fee1234 I just googled it and it said that the early pregnancy unit can be accessed via the GP, so it sounds like I'd still need to get in touch with the GP. I'm only 5+2, so I didn't think they'd bother with anything yet.

I have an in-person GP appointment next week that I had originally scheduled to ask about meds. Should I try to do that over the phone instead, and save the appointment to ask about cramping and spotting?

Or is it appropriate to ask about cramping and spotting over the phone? It might be a while until I can get another in-person appointment and I don't want to push back talking about my meds too much.

Or I could just mention it next week at my appointment, but I didn't know if that would take too much time.

My symptoms have come and gone, nothing super strong at the moment. I took a digital the other day that said 3+ weeks but I know that's not a guarantee.

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 16:27

Okay so I called the surgery and spoke to someone. Feel like a bit of a time waster! They said that it's too early to do a scan and that some light bleeding and cramps are normal. They can reevaluate at my appointment next week.

fee1234 · 04/10/2018 16:27

@Kescilly I'd mention it at the GP appointment, but it's likely that they will just refer you to the EPU for a scan or to get checked out

Beautifulblue · 04/10/2018 18:04

@Kescilly did a GP tell you that? I always thought that they would investigate bleeding incase it was an ectopic pregnancy! I wouldn't be happy with being fobbed off like that! But it's your call obviously x

pollykins151 · 04/10/2018 18:13

When I called EPU last time with bleeding they advised to ask go to do repeat bloods to check hcg levels. Which I did but it felt like the onus was very much on me at the time which was irritating as it's stressful enough. Sorry they're not being very helpful @Kescilly

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 18:28

It hasn’t been heavy bleeding, it just happened a week ago when AF was due. I told her the cramps hadn’t gotten worse and were on and off. She’s a good GP (I’ve seen her several times in the past) so I trust her.

She did ask me if I had booked in with the midwife and when I said I wasn’t sure what to do, she said that the nurse I spoke to had told me to. I didn’t want to push the issue, but he hadn’t. I must look stupid though!

I’m feeling a bit silly for wasting her time, but my emotions have been all over the place anyway. My husband is a star and is taking me to one of my favorite stores to cheer me up so I’m not going to worry about it anymore.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 04/10/2018 18:30

Hey guys just catching up.

@stellarfox hope all is ok with you, fingers and toes crossed.

@Kescilly sorry you're having a confusing time. I would definite push with the GP as you'll never be able to relax until they take you seriously, even though all is most likely fine.

I'm the queen of self torture so I know what it's like!

I took a Digital today and got 2-3 weeks which is what I'd expect at 4+4 and saving the next one until 5 weeks. Honestly this early stage is psychologically exhausting!

Beautifulblue · 04/10/2018 18:31

@Kescilly you're not wasting anyone's time! But I'm glad you're feeling better enjoy your store trip Grin

Beautifulblue · 04/10/2018 18:32

@MadeInCornwallx3 I didn't get a 3+ until 5+2 & had 2-3 the day before at 5+1 so don't fret to much is it's still 2-3 (like I did) Blush

MadeInCornwallx3 · 04/10/2018 18:34

Haha @Beautifulblue I'll try!

(I will though 🙈)

Also booked a dating scan for the 3rd Nov after booking in appointment with midwife on 31st Oct. just want to get there now!

Mrsssmith11 · 04/10/2018 18:40

@Kimbishop86 by the time this one comes it will be almost exactly 5 years. My dd's birthday is 21st June.

Mine wasn't a planned section, I was in labour for a really long time before it.

stellarfox · 04/10/2018 19:09

So they couldn’t say for sure that they found the embryo in the ultrasound, but there’s something that looks like it. It’s just a bit too early! They couldn’t find my left ovary which is where the pain is. They said it didn’t look like an ectopic. They basically said ideally they would have me come back for another scan and tests in a few days so it’s my risk if I go on holiday tomorrow! I think we are going to go but try to book in a scan in the US in a few days and just pay for it. I don’t want to not go on holiday because of some manageable pain which is not likely to be anything major. It’s worrying though 😔

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 20:36

Really glad it doesn’t sound like an ectopic, @stellarfox. I think they are pretty rare so your odds are good. Where in the US are you going?

Bimbabo · 04/10/2018 23:27

Hi everyone!

Finally had a bfp after 7 months trying. Due 18th June and have my first appointment and scan booked.

No major symptoms as yet. Mild cramps on and off which I’ve been assured is normal for some xxx

Littlemissamy · 05/10/2018 03:20

Ummm has anyone else seen the clearblue recall??

mamansnet · 05/10/2018 06:34

I was wondering the same, Littlemissamy. Hope everyone on here is ok

Torsz · 05/10/2018 06:36

It’s ‘clear & simple’ not ‘clearblue’, but yes...it’s so sad! Feel terrible for anyone who got false positives as a result 😩x

SassehMonsta · 05/10/2018 06:41

@littlemissamy - it's not clear blue recall, it's clear and simple -they are a cheap version that I picked up in my local shop/B&M style place.

Annnd breathe!

Hi @Bim! Welcome :)

@Stellarfox, I'm glad they couldn't find anything g immediately wrong - how much will a scan in the US cost?

It's 2 weeks today until my early scan, and then another 3 days after that until my booking in appointment (and my referral for a hearing test!). I keep worrying about lack of nausea and then it hits me later in the day. It's so different from my last pregnancy where it was so constant and vomity, that I'm just panicking all the time. I'm scared that I've had a MMC and my body just hasn't noticed yet. Though, last night I couldn't eat my jacket potato with beans.

I'm definitely more emotional, and so is DH. He's a bit depressed currently, especially as there is so much uncertainty around his work and he hates change, so pregnancy along with work changes is really messing with his brain. Trying to work through it together but he usually wants to talk at the time of day I'm fast asleep! :) He is in charge of DD in the mornings after 8am, anything before then is my job. So this morning I was awake with insomnia from 3.20-5am, and then DD was up at 5.30 - Zzz zzz.
