June 2019 - The Early Birds

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 16:22

Hello there,

A new thread for those who are due in June 2019. The Early bird catches the worm! Or, in my case, the sickness.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and make yourself at home.

I'm Sarah, 28, and currently super-early into my pregnancy at 3+1. This will be my second child, and I have in the past, and currently still do, suffer from HG (severe morning sickness).

So come one, come all, let us start our journey with sticky thoughts! Welcome, to the June 19 bus!

So I've caught HFM from my DD, the itching is unbearable and I can't get any sleep! I'm so tired but so uncomfortable! Anybody had it before and got any useful tips?

Azure83 · 04/10/2018 07:44

@Mummytomollyandbean I really hope your HFM is mild and over quickly. I caught it from ds last year and it was awful but I think I was very unlucky to get it this bad. I took painkillers and some creams for the itching but it didn't really help. One of those things you have to ride out unfortunately.. xxx

Hello everyone,

Just came across this forum, I'm also due early June (around the 4th) with my first baby.

We were very surprised and happy I fell pregnant in the first cycle we were ttc.

Got a midwifes appointment booked for the 23rd what seems ages away. And the first scan will be even longer so until then I guess I just have to be patient and hope everything's going ok? Sorry quite new to all this haha

Kimbishop86 · 04/10/2018 09:23

Hello everyone! I’m new here! 4+1 with my second! Very excited and no symptoms yet! Had morning sickness last time so hoping I get to miss it this time (wishful thinking!). I had a c section last time- November 2017, so wondering if there’s anyone else in the same situation. Wondering whether to VBAC or go for another csection! Although DS was breach, so I guess I may not have a choice!

beardotdo · 04/10/2018 09:34

@kimbishop86 Congratulations!

I had a c-section in 2015 with my DTs who were also breech. Hoping to avoid one this time, not because the c-section or recovery were particularly bad, but I just want to experience a vaginal birth.

fee1234 · 04/10/2018 09:38

Bit of a personal question, does anyone else feel a bit put off sex at the moment? DP and I usually do it a couple of times a week, but we haven't since we found out I was pregnant around two weeks ago. We are both a bit worried of dislodging the baby or something since it's early days! Probably a totally irrational thought... but since having an early loss last month I'm just worrying!

Kimbishop86 · 04/10/2018 09:42

Same! I’ve known some people recently who have had quite traumatic natural births but I really want to experience actual labour! Plus I’ve read how with each csection it can get more risky?! And if you want more children you should try and avoid multiple csections! I guess I should just wait and see what happens but it’s hard not to think about it now!!

hopefulbabydust123 · 04/10/2018 10:04

Does anybody know something good for sore boobs? It's not the nipple it's actual boobs but only really at night. I have big boobs anyway but they are so painful at night when I move or my partner accidentally nudges them it wakes me up every single time x

Littlemissamy · 04/10/2018 10:08

@hopefulbabydust123 I’ve been sleeping in a sports bra, it seems to be helping a bit xx

SassehMonsta · 04/10/2018 10:15

Welcome Anni & Kim and anyone I have missed!

Having the opposite of @fee1234 - DH had a circumcision in July and we just keep having sex! We didn't so much last time round as I was just too sick.

Worried about HFM here too, friend I met up with yesterday told me her littlest one had HFM last week!!!! I haven't told her I'm pregnant so couldn't make a fuss, but didn't cuddle said child!

Time is going soooooo slowly. I am 6 weeks today and I feel like it has taken FOREVER to get here. My booking in appointment isn't until November - whattt? I will be 12 weeks by then, so considering calling them to ask them if it can be moved.

Also, I have lost my phone charging cable, and feeling a bit like my left hand has been cut off. So no battery means I can't even call the Drs - no chance at work on the landline as open office. :(

@SassehMonsta that booking appointment is definitely too late! You should be having your scan then! My first midwife appointment is 23rd of this month when I'll be 8+2. Think around the 8 week mark is normal. Get on them! X

SassehMonsta · 04/10/2018 10:26

When I get home (and buy a new charging cable on the way) I shall stop into the Drs and talk to the receptionist. muttermutter

I have already booked the morning of the 14th Nov off work for it, so will just have a nice slow morning that day!

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 11:07

I hope you get your appointment changed, @SassehMonsta!

I don't have a booking in appointment yet. I've spoken to both a receptionist and nurse, both who seemed totally uninterested in the fact that I'm pregnant. I have an appointment with a GP to ask about medication next week so I think I will ask him what I'm supposed to do. No one has mentioned seeing a midwife so I'm just sort of going about it on my own for now.

hopefulbabydust123 · 04/10/2018 11:17

You can ring the midwives directly to sort that out, that's what I did. I rang my doctors and the receptionist said it's better to ring them directly because you don't have to have a doctors appointment first. I rang them then about 3-4 days later I had a letter with my booking in appointment and 12 week scan x

pollykins151 · 04/10/2018 11:37

Here you have to have an appointment with nurse who does the referral to the midwife. Was a massive palava last time. The referral didn't get through and my booking app was really late. Got my appointment with nurse in couple of weeks. Then hopefully booking app with Midwife when I'm about 10 weeks.

Mrsssmith11 · 04/10/2018 11:46

@Kimbishop86 I had a section with baby number 1 and hoping for a vbac with this one.

Kescilly · 04/10/2018 13:32

Has anyone known they would be consultant led? Did you still make an appointment with a midwife first?

CatRen27 · 04/10/2018 13:58

@kimbishop86 I had an emergency c section for my dd in 2015 and hoping for a vbac this time. I had to be induced so the whole thing was a bit long and crazy so if all goes well and baby is late and I'm given the option of induction or planned c section, I'd probably go with the c section tbh. Long time to think it through and talk to the specialist though!

SassehMonsta · 04/10/2018 13:58

Yes - last time I wanted to be consultant led originally, due to family history and hereditary things. I still booked in with midwife. This time I am trying to avoid it!

I had a vaginal birth with DD, was all going nicely gas & air in the pool until she pooed in the waters Blush had to get out, be taken off gas & air & be monitored where the pain ramped up 1000x. Ended up with an epidural which was AMAZING didn't feel a thing for the last few hours, didn't feel the pushing & didn't feel the stitches. I'm definitely not opposed to having another one this time Grin

SockQueen · 04/10/2018 14:52

@Kescilly, even if consultant led you will see a midwife for a lot of routine appointments so yes, need to book in with them first. I was nominally consultant led last time but only saw him 3 times. I think this time I should be lower risk so will probably just be midwife led care. Though my hospital doesn't have a proper MLU so it makes little difference to the end game!

SassehMonsta · 04/10/2018 14:56

Moved booking in appt to 22nd October.

Driving myself nuts - keep doing HPTs to see test line going darker?!

Anyone else, mine not quite there yet.

stellarfox · 04/10/2018 14:59

Hi ladies I was having sharper pain this morning in one side so I rang my doctor to be on the safe side and they’ve sent me to the hospital for a scan. Just waiting for it now! Bit worried as supposed to be going on holiday tomorrow so fingers crossed it’s ok. Will let you know how it goes

Beautifulblue · 04/10/2018 15:11

Good luck @stellarfox glad they've got you in so quickly - that is refreshing!
