I shall prob be on here a lot at the weekend. Dp has to finish decorating (nearly done), so I shall be bored. I'll be spending the best part of sunday lugging furniture back into our bedroom though. Hopefully that'll get things going!!

Hi all!
Fantastic news TA!! As your text buddy , I keep checking my phone- so dont forget!!

PMSL at DKMAFME post earlier this morning [grin!] - would have loved to be a fly on the wall (im not really kinky but can just imagine the humour of the moment!!)

Im feeling really tired today, might have a nap later. So far Ive devoured a cold sausage roll for lunch, so im off to raid the fridge again for my next course....

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 13:07

I won't forget JBM!

Dairylea and beans isn't feral. DH likes crisp sandwiches with cheese. I think we all have our bad food fetishes... my worst habit is probably chugging milk straight from the carton.
My lunch today....2 chunks of tiffin and 2 apricots and a snickers ice cream. Feeling ever so healthy now.

I use the excuse - need to keep the sugar levels up for my obviously impending labour...

justbeme · 14/06/2007 13:19

MMMM tiger bread with blakc forest ham/toms and lettuce I just picked out of the garden!!

What Costco do you got to TA? I go to the Watford one.

foxybrown · 14/06/2007 13:20

that sounds lovely JBM! very of your garden and gardening abilities!

kittykitt · 14/06/2007 13:20

Hi all, Just on quickly to say hello and catch up on everyone's news.
Congrats to all those with new arrivals - the baby count just goes up & up

TA - great news on your show - things are starting to happen!!

PMSL at all your shagging stories this morning.
Had a rather awkward conversation with my GP on the phone yesterday about contraception. Made it quite clear that there is NO WAY i am even thinking about it yet. Stitches still healing ferchrissakes
He still kindly offered the morning after pill should i need it..He's also the neighbour of a friend of mine so i quite often see him when i visit her. I might ask him over th garden fence if he can perhaps pass a few condoms over, just in case

Labour Vibes going out to you ladies who are at the end of you tether - TALLULAHBELLE, i am eagerly checking my phone for your birth text

Getting wireless soon - so will be able to join in more then.

Anyways, must get back to Sophia who is mewing for attention...

riabutterflew · 14/06/2007 13:22

I know this is becoming a recurring question and I should make an effort to remember, but did we decide that braxton hicks go off if you sit down and proper contractions ease if you move around? Not that I'm probably having either - indigestion I expect (though my back still hurts).

Heinz tomato soup and bacon baguette for my lunch - DS1 got sent home from school sick (he must have been V covincing cos he looks ok to me) so we had soup to make him better! DS2 at playgroup so had better get on, backache or not.

Have just had a woman at playgroup do the "I hear congratulations are in order...", I wouldn't mind but I told her weeks ago and she didn't comment. I quite enjoyed, "yes, I'm due on Tuesday". Also had a woman at DHs work who I don't really know and he doesn't like say "haven't you had that baby yet?" Doesn't fucking look like it does it. All of you who have mentioned this before now have my sympathy, no-one has ever said it to me before (because I don't leave the house if I can help it) and now I know how annoying it is.

Top marks to my mum though - she said to me yesterday that I should just tell people not to visit when I get home from hospital because I don't feel up to it. Bless her. (obviously she can come round to collect the ironing...)

Sorry, long post.

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 13:23

When I lived in Essex I went to the one at Lakeside, now I live literally 5 minutes from the Reading one and DH has forbidden me from shopping there as I can't help myself and buy more food than a family of 5 could eat in a month.

But oh how I love it so.... I buy it all in bulk and then split it up and bag it in little bags then freeze it.

And mum has a mate thats a butcher and he cuts up massive sirloins for me into steaks, it works out that I get about 20+ sirloin steaks for £1 a steak.

I think you have to though!! Meat is so pricey, get it cheap where you can!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 13:25

Ria, can't remember who said it but they said that proper contractions DO NOT stop when you exercise, BH do.

Proper contractions stop when you have a baby

foxybrown · 14/06/2007 13:25

yep, BH go when you sit, proper ones ease when you move.

Why? Which type to you have? (I'm getting excited again!)

justbeme · 14/06/2007 13:27

I tend to buy big lumps of cheese in Costco/washing powder/ god knows what else as the bill is nearly always over £100
I want some new Birkenstocks, bought mine in there last yr, but this yr theyve only had horrible colours in so far....

I thought BH eased off as you moved around Ria?

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 13:27

Well I would listen to Foxy, not me, I haven't had any of either really

So come on then what's the goss?!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 13:29

Ditto JBM - the last fabric softener I bought lasted me 11 months, oh I do love costco.

I like the veg there though, if you think you can use it in those quntities it's worth it because it keeps for ages and it's lovely quality.
I end up using as much as I can for a few days and turn the rest into soups/quiches etc.

foxybrown · 14/06/2007 13:32

BH definately go when you rest. But you are right in that proper contractions don't just stop when you move, it just the by moving it makes them ease up a bit and are easier to manage.

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 13:32

woo hoo....i'm wireless!! am currently sat on sofa, feeding DD and typing away with other hand....this is great . no excuses like new baby stopping me from being a sad case with a tentative hold on rl!!

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 13:33

i need to renew my costco membership.....i love the place and the meat is really good quality.....and the wine very cheap!

justbeme · 14/06/2007 13:35

Do you think so Daisyboo?
I get my meat from Lidls and wine from Asda.
God its puring down here now - glad I picked my lettuce earlier (and spinach for tea!!)

justbeme · 14/06/2007 13:35

now I havent got a giant cat - i meant "Pouring"

annobal · 14/06/2007 13:36

Bumper, sorry if I'm a bit late but just read your thread about thrush - I've had it loads this pg but seem to have it under control at the moment by using homepathic stuff. Neal's Yard are good at giving advice if you want to go down that route. Otherwise canestan will work but try and get rid of it before you give birth as it makes your skin quite fragile and can be more prone to tearing and you can pass it to the baby. Also, get DH to treat himself as well as you can pass it back and forth. Sorry if too much detail...

riabutterflew · 14/06/2007 13:44

Thanks. Don't know if I've got either. Just generally tightening and uncomfortable, but no "peak" area of discomfort and it's fairly constant, especially in my back. Bugger. Why can't my waters just break and then I would know! (need to do the hoovering first though so it's easy for DH to mop up!!!) Have probably just eaten too much. Will have a bath when DH home and see what happens.

I wouldn't get too excited.

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 13:48

I get all my meat from Costco too. I think the meat is 'good' quality - better than your average supermarket as it doesn't seem pumped full of water etc but not as good as a quality farm shop/butcher. But I can't afford farm shop prices and I can buy enough chicken to last us almost a month for £14 in Costco, needs must.

So now I just buy from the butcher for a special occasion.

Lidl and Aldi etc are actually pretty good - I stopped shopping in Morrisons because everything was a bit tasteless and I have boycotted Tesco. I love Supermarket chat, it's a deep passion of mine

foxybrown · 14/06/2007 14:02

I have 3 days of nothing to do ahead of me. No DP, no children, no one to worry about but myself and unborn child.

what shall I do?

(Spending the entire time on MN and having a baby are not options!)

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 14:03

lol ta...did you see the thread by the woman who was boycotting supermarkets and doing everything locally?....it was great.

must see if its been updated recently

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 14:05

Catch up on DVD's, have a facial/pampering, read a book, clean the house, go to the shops, set up a webpage/blog, visit friends/family...

I have been bored/lonely for 6 months now, I am full of useless ideas
