Ria how can she say she 'thinks' the head is down?? I am not a small person and they usually can tell with me no problem.
But yes even just an outside feel can really bloody hurt sometimes can't it?
I would try and see another MW/GP really, they should be able to check where the head is without too much hassle.

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 09:28

I refuse to do doggy
I cannot present my DH with my arse in that position right now. I just can't. It would be wrong and he might realise that actually yes, my arse could indeed eclipse the sun, and it would put him off.

bumperlicious · 14/06/2007 09:29

It's more about lack of shagging Ria!

Isn't it fairly normal for the head not to engage until the last minute for 2nd and further children? I wouldn't worry Ria, but the pains sound promising! When are you due?

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 09:46

help help help!!

What does a show look like?!
Stop reading now if it's too early in the morning for those with an easily grossed out disposition...
I just had a big clear lump of goo with a pinkish tinge....

WHAT is that?!

smallone · 14/06/2007 09:52

Hi sorry to gatecrash, thread but my show looked like an elephant had sneezed in my pants. Huge jelly blob with old blood streaks. Didn't deliver for another 3 days tho. (sorry)

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 09:57

Thanks smallone! Yeah it looked like I just had terrible hayfever but I have never been so happy to see a lump of goo in my life, even if it does take 3 more days, hell I have been pregnant for 42 weeks whats another day or so!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 10:03

I just had a show! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I know it means bugger all really, but when you have been pregnant this long and NOTHING has been happening, you have to rejoice at the little things

hollyandalice · 14/06/2007 10:04

You've just had a show TA!!! HOORAY!! That sweep of yours may have done the trick! Maybe things will kick off soon. I really hope they do!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 10:08

I am sweaty with glee
It might not mean much, not really, but I am just over the moon that there has been something.

Well! Nothing for it other than to take the pooch for a brisk walk!

Yay TA - something is happening at last!

While we are on the TMI convos just got back from the Dr's and I have thrush. Ewww. Never had it before. Got some cream. Excuse my naivity but a couple of questions: should I steer clear of jiggy with DH? (Coz obviously there was a lot of chance anyway!) and will he know if he has it? If he does can I just give him a bit of my cream?

The dr said even if I go into labour now it's not a problem but I'm sure it's not great for the LO...?

Thanks DG. I just read on babycentre.com that if you have it when in labour the baby can catch it. I know it's not dangerous or anything just not nice. Sex with condoms would just defeat the whole purpose at the most (obviously I just want though prostaglandins) so bad luck DH!

riabutterflew · 14/06/2007 11:19

Sorry bumper, don't know anything about thrush. Babies get it in their mouths I think, but not necessarily cos you have it? I don't know. I don't know if men can get it either (though evilly it would be poetic justice if any DH had to have one of those swabs they do while their partner suffering labour, then all we would need would be a situation like when women have stitches after the birth and they all inevitably say "can you tighten it up a bit", where we could say "can you add a bit on the end/chop a bit off"!)

I aren't due til Sun/Tues depending on whose dates I follow (scan or consultant). So I shouldn't be so impatient. It's just annoying when they say things they don't need to. There isn't a clinic next week because of MWs hols, they told the woman who was making an appt while I was waiting to go to the GP if she had any concerns. Now I know this is nonPC, but she had a HUGE bump and looked ready to go, would have thought they should have made more effort with a few of us being near due date. I am getting a home visit on Sunday to check my BP so assume I will get another one next week when clinic should be.

Congrats on the show! It's amazing what sort of things we look forward to when PG!

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/06/2007 11:28

Hi All,
Hey great news about the show T/A - another move in the right direction

Bumper - eat loads of natural yogurt, can apply it too. Also can try few drops of tea tree oil in bath [think OK in PG]. No bubble-bath, don't have water too hot, wash delicate areas with aqueous cream, not soap. Your DH should use your Canesten cream too cos men can have thrush with no symptoms but then reinfect their partners (if any chance that sex on the agenda). A friend of mine had thrush that passed to her baby. It did mean that BF more difficult cos baby had it in her mouth & friend had it on nips so kept passing it back and forth with every feed. She had cream to use & persevered and all worked out in end but best to try and get rid asap.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 14/06/2007 11:29

Morning!

PMSL at stories about shagging!

My DH and I did it on Monday night and it was hilarious! He was doing a lot of fumbling about behind me (were attempting doggy) and I was getting impatient stood on my tippy toes with my arse in the air so I shouted 'come on - what are you doing?' and he just stood there waving his hands in the air saying 'well I don't know what I'm doing here - all the dimentions have changed - your arse is so much bigger!!'

Bless him - I had to laugh!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 11:34

Hey Bumper, I have had thrush constantly throughout this PG, you can still get jiggy with it but your DP stands a good chance of getting it as well. My DH has learnt to live with it poor man because I am insisting on the prostaglandins!!

It's uncomfortable but then hey, seems nothing in PG is easy.

Cream helps but if it's persistent your GP can prescribe something safe, but you should stay well away from the oral tablets.

Honestly I have had it to some extent since day 1, it's pretty miserable but you can learn to work around it.

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 11:36

PMSL at dimension changes, awww bless him!!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 11:39

Oh and bumper - sorry all if tmi - if your dh has it he will know as it will be a bit read and itchy and 'tight', he might get any or all of those symptoms, but cream will work for him too.

Lol at the oral prostaglandins DG!! I don't think I could handle that atm, dreadful heartburn!

How was your walk TA?

OP posts:
daisyboo · 14/06/2007 11:51

TA....woohooo on the show, i'll watch this space. We need you all postnatal...its just way too quiet, although i'm sure things will pick up when a) there's more of us, and b) the madness of the first few weeks has settled into something resembling a routine.

LOL at all your sex talk...it's way too early for all that when you feel battered and bruised and have only had three hours sleep!!

Bumper....try to avoid yeasty foods like bread as well, and I hope it clears up before LO arrives. You do not want to get into the pass the thrush game with your LO. I had it with DS when he was BF and it took an age to clear up, and if you think its sore down below....its much worse on your nipples, especially in the early days when tey are battered and bruised anyway.

On a lighter note....my DH is liking all the BF vests and bras. He said they'll make excellent quick release clothing when he gets "his" boobs back again!!

hollyandalice · 14/06/2007 11:54

Hahahah Daisy! I am wearing nursing bras atm as they are much more comfortable and dp thinks they are hilarious, just one clip and full exposure! I have bfing pjs as well which are just as amusing!
We all want to join you on PN, but our sodding babies won't come out!

bumperlicious · 14/06/2007 12:08

Thanks for the advice girls. it's natural yogurt and a bath in tea tree oil for me tonight! Not sure about the oral prostaglandins though, too knackered, d'you think if just laid there...

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 12:09

As long as DH wiped the dribble from the corner of your mouth when he was done bumper...you should be OK
