Hi all - am supposed to be writing my reports - but the fact that I'm waaay before the deadline means that I'm 'ok, I can leave it for a bit!' I will finish 8KJ's reports today - that is my goal!
inzi - glad to know that physio was positive for you - it sounds like you and I have the same thing going on! I'd also suggest, in addition to what the physio said about hanging over a chair, that you get yourself a gym ball like this and hang over that. I found that very comfortable when pg with ds - allows you to relax your back and take the stress of your pelvis. Hope you feel better soon.
polarmummy - the birth of ds was very traumatic for me, but I'm still going back for more ... (mind you, it has taken counselling to get me that far!) It's bizarre, as you make all these plans for an ideal birth, but you have to remember that your plans could have to be changed at a moment's notice. If you think properly about all the permutations (including when and why you would agree to induction!!), then you should be fine. I thought very carefully about my ideal birth scenario with ds (as 'natural' as possible etc.), and I also thought about what I would do in case of a c section - the one thing I didn't think about was induction - and that meant that I hadn't explored the possibilities.
pheebe - hope your search for an alternative hospital goes well.
buffy - very excited about your house being finished early!
betsycoe - I do not enjoy being pregnant - I'm finding these few weeks interminable! I can't wait until Madam Bean is born! And, like you, I want to know how to stop calendar watching!
FloriaTosca - wow - that's busy! Enjoy the wedding!
I love everybody's choice of names by the way!
Well, physio was very positive for me, without actually changing anything. She confirmed that I'm doing all the right things, has given me some more exercises to do, and has referred my for hydrotherapy! Apparently there's a 'symphysis pubis class' at the main hospital in the hydrotherapy pool! She also confirmed that she thought I shouldn't be in work (her very words were: 'I'm surprised you managed 2 days!') and has told me to keep taking the tablets (well, not taking them, but you know what I mean - what terminology do you use for suppositories anyway) - whilst admitting that they won't do any more than take the edge off the pain.
Has anybody heard from Gemma?
Right, going to write my reports!
