Sorry taken a while. Was making my way home ASAP just incase I got the feeling again. Call maternity assessment. Said it isn't common and I should keep an eye. Pain and frequency are the 2 things that I should look out for. Either one happens and make my way there.

Meantime, no bags packed. I don't know what other sign I'm looking for. 🤪😁

filzma hope they don't carry on like that, make sure you're drinking plenty and take it easy xx

I've got Gaviscon (had it ready and waiting this time round) but it hasn't really made a difference to the reflux.

twobambinos · 07/08/2018 18:07

Apparently some people don't get pain from contractions only pressure that's why it made me worry for you. I don't know any of these people who have not got pain with a contraction though.
Fingers crossed for you now.

Officially into single weeks even with allowing myself mentally to go to maximum overdue. It's a good feeling.

Havetothink I had an awful night of heartburn causing vomiting last week so I stocked up on the gaviscon tablets. I suck them now like a mint when I need them but thankfully it's only been twice since I don't think they should be a regular thing. Hopefully you get sorted.

I'm using dream genii pillow for the third time. One part of it is on its last days but it will do now and I can dump it after its more than served its purpose. The mattress is also raised up and I'm propped on pillows too. Sounds like quite a few of us are suffering with the sleep time.

Havetothink · 07/08/2018 18:47

Weird thing is I've not been getting much heartburn or even much acid it's just the reflux completely without warning. I wondered if the baby's movements are causing it as it's so sudden and random.

justtowarm · 08/08/2018 10:05

@Havetothink I am so with you with the reflux, it wakes me in the night with a mouthful of acid! And just burns in the day! I am lucky though gaviscon double action (so long as it's the liquid) seems to do the trick. Hope it eases up soon for you! I think last time mine got better when the baby dropped x

justtowarm · 08/08/2018 15:26

I have been saving a packet of crisps and some fizzy drink all day as a treat... pop upstairs and come down to my fiancé and son just finishing them both off..... the wedding is off.... can you divorce a child?

justtowarm · 08/08/2018 15:27

Safe to say no more days off together either 😂

unicornchaser · 08/08/2018 16:05

I hide my treats in the car or the cleaning supplies cupboard 🤣 they never go in here! Even went as far as hiding choc in the washing machine. Was safe for a week hahahaha

Also, just got my whooping cough vaccine this morning, does it get really achy? It's been fine today.....

OP posts:
justtowarm · 08/08/2018 16:27

I think the cleaning supplies cupboard is a good idea, it's ok though he realised his mistake when when I moaned at him 2725252733 times and he popped out and got me some more 😂

My whooping cough vaccine ached the next day for a couple of days but it wasn't unbearable :)

unicornchaser · 08/08/2018 16:54

Phew! Thank god he realised his mistake and rectified it swiftly. They do say don't come between a pregnant lady and her snacks!

OP posts:
Havetothink · 08/08/2018 17:33

My dh knows better, he won't eat any snacks I buy without asking. I've never told him he can't have any, but he still asks. I think I must have scared him when I was BF last time, I was always ravenous.

I think if the whooping cough vaccine doesn't make your arm ache the first day you'll probably be ok. Mine wasn't as sore this time round and I didn't get the lump I had with it first time.

twobambinos · 08/08/2018 17:55

My arm only ached when I leaned on it so in bed if I turned over it was sore but the pain went then a minute or two later so just when pressure was first applied.

Oh I'd not be happy about the snacks being eaten. But at least he tried to put it right.

How are you today @filzma

Penguina · 08/08/2018 21:34

30 weeks tomorrow - how on earth has that happened.

Kicks are getting very weird now. Anyone else having like tremor /shaky ones? They don’t last long but it worries me! 9 weeks is such a long time to wait to see if this baby is healthy !

Filzma · 08/08/2018 22:13

Eventful day! The 'urges to push' came back with no pain but more frequently. Off to the hospital I went. Midwife hooked me up to the baby monitor. I was actually having contractions!! Examined me, cervix was closed but softened. They kept me in during the day for monitoring. The urge to push subsided but baby monitor showed I was still having contractions albeit less strong. The consultant came to see me and suggested I get a steroid injection for baby's lungs just incase things begin to roll.

I'm back home now but 'bed rest'. Was told to avoid physical activities and limit my walking. I'm back to hosp tomorrow for a second injection and further monitoring.

Still have no idea what triggered it. Hopefully baby stays put until I get everything together.

Havetothink · 08/08/2018 22:41

Sounds pretty scary filzma hope tomorrow is better and baby stays put for a while longer. Maybe the heat has contributed? I've been getting lots of very uncomfortable BH and downing gallons of water in an attempt to keep them at bay. Anything and everything seems to trigger them.

Filzma · 08/08/2018 22:54

I know havetothink, I really did think the baby would be born today or tomorrow.

Could be heat. I'll try to stay hydrated and not exert myself too much. Today was a real scare.
Again bags not packed. Have the baby clothes in a vacuum bag that need washing and usual stuff for myself and baby that haven't gotten round to buying yet.

Havetothink · 09/08/2018 07:19

I've not got my bag ready yet either, I might have to go and buy the essentials so at least they're in the house. Could you send someone out to get the bits you're missing?

2ndPGchimp · 09/08/2018 08:20

Wow @Filzma that sounds really scary! I hope it was a short term thing and you can go back to normal now. I am in no way ready for the baby to turn up now! Clothes are still at the back of a full shed and we have a room to decorate/carpet and furnish yet!

My nausea in the mornings seems to have returned, which is nice, and the lower back pain is pretty unbearable. What a joy being pregnant is!

TinyTerror1 · 09/08/2018 08:32

Gosh Filzma how scary. I'm glad you went and got checked out. I hope it all subsides now.

@Penguina yes, they're a bit unnerving but I did some googling and found loads and loads of posts asking if it was normal with lots of people saying yes it is so I think we can relax! Apparently it could be the startle reflex (and baby could be startling at anything including 'losing' its thumb to suck, so not necessarily something we realise would startle them) or maybe baby stretching.

justtowarm · 09/08/2018 08:57

Oh god @Filzma that must have been so scary and I'm sure it still is. Lots of rest and hopefully people waiting on you hand and foot?

@Penguina I'm 31 weeks today and I have no idea where time is going now... it had felt so long but now tine is running away!!!! I get the shaky movement and I got them last time as well. last time I was really scared by them I thought the baby was having a fit (as that is what it felt like) but I was reassured then it's normal. Pregnancy is so anxiety provoking!!!

Yerp · 09/08/2018 10:02

filzma that’s so scary for you, hope things settle down now. You have encouraged me to pick up some basics for my hospital bag today though!

penguina ive been having the same twitchy type movements too, it’s a really strange sensation. Glad to hear from people that they are normal

unicornchaser · 09/08/2018 10:25

Glad you are back home @Filzma and hope everything settles for you. Boxsets and plenty rest for you. And sure you can have someone nip out for you to get the bits you need.

As @Yerp said, it has also inspired me to start getting my bag organised! Was going to hold off until 34 weeks but if I at least get everything in he house to pack later then at least I know I have it!
