yay thanks for doing this @unicornchaser

I agree about the headache strips, I've found them pretty good too! The heat makes me really headachey.

Glad other people are experiencing the unsolicited comments - I swear it gets worse every day! And the random touching of the bump!

However my hairdresser, who is a lovely woman, came out with the best comment I've had so far - "I know you're really pregnant now, but I swear you look like you've lost weight! Your face and legs look all slim and lovely. It's maybe all moved to the bump, you look amazing!"
I don't care if she was lying, I nearly burst into tears at an actually nice thing being said, rather than "oooh you're enormous / tiny / too sticky-out / too spread out the sides"

Havetothink · 04/08/2018 17:34

Ahh what I wouldn't give for a compliment these days. People generally take one look at me and just say "You must be suffering with this heat" I guess the dripping sweat and flushed look is a bit of a giveaway.

@Milknosugar1 the truly awesome thing is that she comes to my house! She works at a very pricey salon with limited opening hours and poached me from them when I said it was too hard to get an appt any more. So I get the same haircut/colour for half the price in my living room at 7pm Grin

She also announced that she'll come the fortnight before I'm due, and then will come again a month afterwards - "but an hour early - you can have a bath and a nap, I'll watch your baby then we'll do your hair"
I swear she's like some sort of hairdressing fairy godmother

Yerp · 05/08/2018 11:26

caoraich I want your hair dresser! She sounds amazing!

I’m officially third trimester today Grin told DP this and he said that’s good, how many are there? Confused As if three isn’t enough Grin

I’m still off work sick with PGP. Bit fed up but it does mean I’m not getting comments passed on my size all the time. Which can only be a good thing, I caught a glimpse of myself from behind in the mirror yesterday. Let’s just say it wasn’t a pretty sight.

I feel like my bump isn’t that big and I could still pass it off as fat if I’m in loose clothes. Especially since the rest of me is growing so rapidly 😂

milk yeah it’s getting worse now and still 12 weeks to go, I could cry.
It’s ok if I rest, but I’m going stir crazy. And I’m getting so fat with not exercising at all. But it will be worth it in the end.

@caoraich I'm jealous!! Your hairdresser needs to be cloned ASAP.

Aww @Yerp, I hope you get some relief soon. Unlike you, my belly is its own entity now. All I'm craving is carbs. 🙈

Hope you're all getting on well. xx

Yerp · 06/08/2018 16:00

After me saying I felt my bump was small, I’ve seen the midwife today and I’m measuring big hahaha. Proves what I know Grin

I had one plus of glucose today in my urine. Midwife wasn’t too concerned and said it will be repeated in two weeks and then I’ll need GTT if still there. Confused Fingers crossed it was just the box of Maltesers I ate last night Blush

Havetothink · 06/08/2018 18:03

Yeah, I learned with my last pregnancy to be good foodwise the night before midwife appointments. Had one where I hadn't eaten till 11.30 the night before, did the sample before breakfast and the urine test come up all kinds of wrong They were on the phone talking extra tests instantly, sounding very serious, made me do it again while I was there and it came back ok that time so I got away with just a telling off. I'm trying not to set off any alarms with this one.

Sorry, it wasn't working so I got the button twice.

Havetothink · 07/08/2018 03:56

I'm back to sleeping upright (so I don't vomit with reflux), leaving great pools of sweat on my pregnancy pillow just from my face. It's too hot too sleep with the window open and fan on and now they're saying this weather might last till October! They're just sadists.

Awe @Havetothink I was coming on to moan about struggling to sleep with rib pain but at least it's cool in Glasgow now. Hope all of you down south get some relief, even if it is only short lived! A friend said she was going to look at getting an air con unit installed for future summers but I bet next summer will snow the entire time!

But yes my original moan. Rib pain! Seriously suffering Sad feel like I can't breath deep enough because my ribs feel like they are crushing me if I do. And sleeping on my side is just so painful on my ribs and back now.
I have a huge preggo pillow, one of the 12 feet ones, which I HATE because I get all tangled when I roll to my other side. What one do you all use and like?

Another one for the crap night here. Between reflux, painful hips, getting fed up with my pregnancy pillow (it was fab but either my knees are now incredibly heavy or it's really going flat), insect bites, OH snoring... I don't feel like I slept at all. At least Little Miss Wrigglebum was there with me in the small hours!

Havetothink · 07/08/2018 08:49

I just have a long bolster pillow from Dunelm it's not really a proper pregnancy one.

ladydolly · 07/08/2018 09:05

havetothink you MUST go to the doctors!! I suffered all through my first pregnancy with reflux and waking up choking on vomit (sorry, TMI there) so I saw the doc this time and got some ompermazerole and it is AMAZING, I'm totally cured. I still don't have spicy food or eat large meals but other than that it's like I never had it. Getting sleep again is incredible. You don't have to suffer.

I had a v pillow last time but they're too squashy, this time just areally really firm pillow is working for me.

Havetothink · 07/08/2018 09:10

I really feel like I'm growing a big baby, measured pretty normal at 28 weeks but it just feels big. My first was 8lb 4 at 40+5 so not considered massive but certainly big enough, a little worried how big this one will get. My mum was a twin and was 9lb, her sister 7lb something which is pretty big for twins so there's some history of big babies in the family Confused

Havetothink · 07/08/2018 09:12

ladydolly thanks I will definitely look into ompermazerole, I'm too scared to lie flat anymore.

Filzma · 07/08/2018 14:20

@Havetothink aww, I hope the weather improves and you begin to feel better. As for reflux, try eat earlier than you are now and half hour before sleep guzzle down some antacid. Could've missed it, but you might already be doing that already? In which case... see GP for other ideas.

Tmi content: Does BH occur every, say half hour and so intense that I keep rushing to the loo (poop). Have the urge to push but nothing... and can't help it. It's not painful just very strong. This has happened 3 times in the past 2 hrs. Sorry if tmi, but bowels were empty after 1st time, 2nd and 3rd time just sat there pushing nothing, but very strong. 31weeks and some days now. Usual? Unusual?

Filzma if that was me I would be on the way to the hospital to get checked out. If it was 40 weeks I wouldn't be rushing in but at 31 weeks I would. It could be premature labour. Maybe give them a call anyway and see

Filzma · 07/08/2018 14:57

I'll give them a call right away. Thanks ladies. Xx
