Here's the board:

September and October 2018 arrivalswww.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/3379085-September-and-October-2018-arrivals

2ndPGchimp · 01/10/2018 09:08

Congrats on the latest arrivals, how exciting.

@oreolovegood I hope you either got some movement or went back in. Good luck for the growth scan today.

I am officially under a week until due date. My patience is running so thin and my very trying 4 year old is not helping! Anyone else feeling very fractious at the moment. I don't think it helps that my she has fractured his toe so is even less help than usual!

twobambinos · 01/10/2018 13:29

Finally it's October.

midnight1983 · 01/10/2018 13:44

Lol @twobambinos I literally thought the same thing as I put the calendar to October this morning...

oreolovegood · 01/10/2018 14:39

@2ndPGchimp thank you! I did get some movements again, also started to lose my plug last night which makes me a little more hopeful things are progressing!

Growth scan was fine. She's measuring 7lb 8 at the moment. He took my blood pressure 6 times and showed high every time so had to have my bloods taken as apparently I could be at risk of preeclampsia so find out the results tomorrow Hmm all just seems so complicated. Feeling jealous of those who have had a simple pregnancy, at least we are all nearly there now Grin

meetthewildes · 01/10/2018 17:03

It's October!!

I had my iron infusion this morning and am currently trying to stay awake in the office whilst crunching my way through a voluminous bowl of ice. Cannot WAIT to feel human again; at the moment I'm just a sleepy and ineffectual watched pot. 36+5 today. Almost, allllmost beginning to hope that this baby comes a little early, or at least on time, so that I can have my brain back.

@oreolovegood I am thinking of you and hoping that the little girl evicts herself soon.

Penguina · 01/10/2018 17:42

Starting to freak out that I’m going to have a newborn next week.

Don’t know how I’ll cope with sleepless nights again! It’s been such a long time since I’ve had to get out of bed more than once. And not driving for six weeks with a rampant toddler in the house who loves testing my patience !

unicornchaser · 01/10/2018 17:55

I think I'm one of the few that is looking forward to the newborn stage so it means third tri is done! It's taking me 2-3 hours to actually get to sleep even though I'm shattered then I'm woken 3-4 times for the toilet so only getting a max of 5 hours broken sleep. And just full of aches and pains meaning I'm never comfy.

29 days to due date but baby is engaged so I'm quietly (if I say it out loud I will definitely go overdue!!) hoping with everything that he comes early!

twobambinos · 01/10/2018 18:54

@unicornchaser I'm looking forward to it too. Said to dh tonight I never want to be pregnant again. He told the mw today that I am miserable all weekend and I said I'm miserable for the last 9 months I don't do pregnancy well at all.

@penguina are you having a section. Goodluck hope it goes well and you have plenty of help.

@oreolovegood fingers crossed its not pre eclampsia. Baby is a lovely size now too.

@meetthewildes hope the iron kicks in soon and fingers crossed for a baby just a little earlier than the last ones. You have done your time.

midnight1983 · 01/10/2018 19:05

@oreolovegood that's good news about the movements. It can be so stressful. Good luck Re the blood tests.

@meetthewildes hope your iron infusion takes root soon!

@unicornchaser @twobambinos I am also looking forward to actual baby vs pregnancy. I really don't enjoy pregnancy and I can't wait to be post natal! Can't wait to meet baby either tbh.

ladydolly · 01/10/2018 19:24

Happy birth month everyone!!

@unicorn I'm with you. I am one week into newborn days and c section recover and its FAR easier than being pregnant (1st and 3rd trimester at least).

Thegirlhasnoname · 01/10/2018 19:27

I’m the same as others; can’t wait for baby to actually be here. Would much prefer being woken up by a little person than being woken up by my bladder and a multitude of aches every half an hour, in theory at least (she says as a first time mum!)

Went to the midwife today for my 36 week appointment and was told that I’m measuring at 40 weeks with my bump so would be an ideal candidate for a sweep at 38 weeks. She also said that she wouldn’t be surprised if at my growth scan tomorrow they talk to me about induction or a section due to babies size - I did mention that the dad is a foot talller than I am and had permission to put all the blame his way.

Bloody scary and exciting at the same time to know that, all being well, we will have babies by the time the month is out! 😱

unicornchaser · 01/10/2018 19:30

Yeah I'm hating pregnancy too, it's my first and I don't want him to be an only child so realistically thinking I need to go through this all again down the line!
Though I had a really easy 1st and 2nd trimester with no troubles or illness so it's only been since 30 weeks but these last 6 weeks have kicked my ass majorly!!

@ladydolly 90% of stuff I'm reading says that newborn is so much easier than the last 4-6 weeks of pregnancy. I'm relying so heavily on that being true for me, only thing keeping me going haha

ladydolly · 01/10/2018 19:40

@unicorn you are my pregnancy spirit animal. I hated it. Took me 4 years to do it again and since I was pregnant and miscarried right before this one I've effectively been pregnant for a year. HOWEVER, this one wasn't as bad as my first. I knew what to expect, I didn't put up with anything I did before. Physio for back pain, prescription for reflux, all of which I just accepted before.

Of course the hormones have got me because I've already cried about never being pregnant again etc Hmm

nervousFTM · 01/10/2018 20:12

Just my two cents - much prefer the newborn stage to pregnancy and I only got to 34+6! Sorry you girls are suffering but good work on keeping babies in, you want them there until 37 weeks at least 💖💙

Also I think I said it on an earlier post but you get your energy and body back quite quickly - I don't mean back to pre-preg weight or anything this soon (!) but more that you can run up stairs again without feeling like you might die, can do your own pedicures, get in and out of the bath normally and less trips to the loo!

My baby girl decided to wake me up every hour last night but she's so cute it's easy to forgive her 😊

So excited for you all! I think we only want the one baby so it does feel a little weird that I'm not preg anymore, not will ever know what weeks 35-40/42 feel like!

midnight1983 · 02/10/2018 08:02

Morning all.

I dreamt all night about going into labour... Hoping this is a sign!

meetthewildes · 02/10/2018 10:52

@midnight1983 hoping it is a sign for you! How are you feeling?

If nobody ever hiccups again on my hip bone, it will be too soon. I'm so, SO grateful to have enjoyed a relatively enjoyable pregnancy with this little hiccupper - but argh..! Get off of my hip!

midnight1983 · 02/10/2018 11:35

@meetthewildes feeling still ill tbh but think it's passing. Is your iron infusion helping?

I know what you mean about the hip bones - it's so weird! I really won't miss it after he out tbh!

Thegirlhasnoname · 02/10/2018 18:36

Had a growth scan today with all looking fine - until they did my blood pressure (high enough to put me on trace for over an hour) and tested urine for protein (positive) and long story short is that I’m getting induced on Saturday morning, bang on 37 weeks, and am crazy nervous about it. 😩

Back to hospital tomorrow to check my blood pressure is stable following a prescription they have given me. Stupid thing is that I feel perfectly fine in myself!

oreolovegood · 02/10/2018 19:28

@Thegirlhasnoname I'm getting induced on Thursday and I just found out today! I'm so nervous too! Hope everything works out well for you, at least we get to meet our little ones soon Grin

Smithguy86 · 03/10/2018 07:38

Hi all our twins were born by emergency section on the 2nd baby boy weighed in at 7lbs 7 oz and baby girl 7lbs 2oz both doing great!

Belles86 · 03/10/2018 08:19

@Smithguy86 congratulations!! They are both so cute 😍. Hope you are doing well 👌

meetthewildes · 03/10/2018 08:28

@Smithguy86 CONGRATULATIONS! They are darling and goodness, looking at those pictures is making me wistful for baby twins. How are you feeling?

@Oreolovegood it's your baby eve! How are you spending today?

@thegirlhasnoname not long until the weekend! So sorry to read that you're having a tricky final period, but glad that you're being well looked after and they picked up the blood pressure issue.

@midnight1983 feel better soon! And thank you, the iron infusion has helped tremendously already.

37 weeks today!! One month to go until this thing is allowed to come out, though it's nice to know that if baby is naughty and decides to come earlier than anticipated, I can have my home birth now regardless.

Lila99 · 03/10/2018 08:31

Congratulations @smithguy86! 36 weeks for me today, cannot wait to meet my baby girl Smile

Thegirlhasnoname · 03/10/2018 08:43

Congratulations @smithguy86! They are so unbelievably cute and such a good weight too! 😍

@oreolovegood I felt very unprepared as induction was never covered at any of my antenatal classes but at least we’ll meet our babies soon! (Hopefully anyway because I’d much prefer the idea of a pessary than the hormone drip but whatever gets baby out safely at the end of the day)

@meetthewildes I was a bit shocked yesterday but after sleeping on it and discussing it with DH - who was so level headed throughout it all that I feel I need to make him a cake or something! - it’s good that I had a growth scan booked yesterday and they caught it so quickly, especially since my midwife appointment on Monday gave me the all clear for everything. I hope your transfusion worked and you feel better too 😁
