@ladydolly please tag me (if you're tagging) for the postnatal group. I was due 21/10 but my daughter arrived at 34+6 two weeks ago and am feeling a bit lonely waiting for my antenatal class friends to catch up. Been feeling really down about her being so premature as well so looking forward to being on chat with other new mums soon xx

nervousFTM · 28/09/2018 20:28

@justtowarm yay so excited for you 🎉💖😍😁

Havetothink · 29/09/2018 10:27

NervousFTM how is your baby are you still stuck in hospital? Has she gained much weight?

twobambinos · 29/09/2018 12:05

@justtowarm hope it's all going well.

@nervousFTM you will have some company very soon. Hope baby is doing well.

Still not so patiently waiting here. My due date has come and gone but have a history of overdue babies so jumped into October from the start. It surely can't be much longer. Don't feel very pregnant if I'm honest apart from the big belly.

Havetothink · 29/09/2018 12:27

I'm not quite at my due date but already feeling a bit impatient. Have a feeling I'm going to be over with this one, just hope it's not by too much, every week is another 1/2lb in theory and I feel like she's plenty big enough already Confused

midnight1983 · 29/09/2018 15:05

I am just under two weeks from my due date and I am so impatient and fed up already. I can't really face the idea of potentially going overdue...

@nervousFTM please feel free to have a chat about your baby here. And how are you doing?

meetthewildes · 29/09/2018 16:04

Oh @nervousFTM I have been thinking of you! How is your little girl? How are you?

@justtowarm thinking of you! How are things?

@ladydolly I’d be happy with either. Can’t wait to have a baby to chat about!

We finally bought a first outfit for the baby. It’s so tiny and soft! My daughter is campaigning hard to steal it for her baby, so it’s had to go away, but I swear I get a rush of oxytocin whenever I think of it.

nervousFTM · 29/09/2018 17:32

Thank you lovely ladies!

Baby girl is 2 weeks old today 💕

We were sent home after 3 nights in hospital as she got her jaundice levels in a better place and she also had to finish a course of antibiotics for her lungs. Luckily her blood sugars were always great (I credit myself with all the ice cream consumed during my short pregnancy!).

First week at home I felt primal and powerful, like I was born to be her mum. Second week has been tinged with anxiety and guilt as I feel it's my fault she's so early (I suffered from eating issues for 25 years). Her birth weight was 5lbs 6 so not bad, and all midwife/HV visits have been great, but I guess I just like to self flagellate and look for problems ☹️

It's been great for me not having to go through the final heavy weeks of pregnancy (sorry sorry!! But you wouldn't want to be this premature) although I hadn't started mat leave yet! 😬 plus I think her small size meant I didn't tear when pushing her out, which meant I was back on my feet straight away and back at hot yoga and the gym by 5 days after, but I'd swap all of that to have her in my tummy for longer getting all the nutrients she needed ahead of entering the big bad outside world. Have been worrying she'll suffer long term for being born at 34+6.

Hubby dropped her in the car seat on our way out the house this morning - we were on our way to a hearing screening for the LO. I cried (obvs) even though the drop was about 6 inches from the floor and she was strapped in - ended up going to hospital for a check over as per the 111 doctor's advice (was made to feel like an idiot when I was there though).

Hang in there mamas! So close xx

meetthewildes · 29/09/2018 17:38

Oh @nervousFTM I found that days 5 - 10 or so we’re just awful. I had a similar primal/powerful/euphoric thing going on at first and then I just crashed, and was completely all over the place - I just remember crying and crying because I wanted to leave and have a redo, but I couldn’t afford to support a second home and a new baby whilst supporting the babies I already had. It was dreadful! Hang on in there, sweetheart - it is hormonal and it will pass. Your little girl won’t suffer for being that tiny bit early. X

Penguina · 29/09/2018 20:03

@nervousftm 34+6 really isn’t that early so don’t punish yourself!

Oh and we’ve all dropped our babies ...off the bed, the sofa , in the car seat. Just wait til they start walking!

filzma · 29/09/2018 21:47

@nervousFTM I'm so sorry you're going through this. Please don't blame yourself for the baby coming early. There's not much you could've done. Also, she will be fine. My niece was born at exactly 6 months and she's 17 now!! Beautiful and brainy too.

Right now, it's the hormones and lack of sleep that are magnifying every little thing. Don't forget to take the post natal vitamins and try not to exert yourself too much before 6 weeks. The rest will do you good. We've all dropped or left our babies in precarious positions that the fell. You feel like the worst mom ever!!
If you get the chance to cry, don't hold back. Let it all out.

Sending love and positivity your way!!ThanksThanks

filzma · 29/09/2018 21:54

I went over my due date last time. Expect it might be the same this time.

Barely got a wink of sleep last night. Just super uncomfortable. Plus I think the baby might have changed from head down position. Something feels different. Should I call my midwife or just ride it out?

Is the raspberry leaf tea a placebo? Sometimes I think it's the actual hydration that helps and nothing about the tea itself. Hmm, could be wrong though.

unicornchaser · 30/09/2018 00:17

@filzma I was served by a student midwife when I got my tea, she said it doesn't induce labour or speed it up but helps to strengthen your uterus so stabilises contractions making them more effective.
She did say the best time to have started it was 30 weeks and build up to drinking around 4 cups a day. I started at 33 weeks and am drinking 2-3 cups a day now at almost 36 weeks.

Hello October ladies! Sorry I have not posted since the early beginning of the pregnancy, I found it really tough with my anxiety to talk about actuallly being pregnant, it really had me as a bag of nerves the whole time.

My October 16th baby was born yesterday 29th September at 6:40pm after my waters broke at 3am, early hours on Saturday. Baby boy weighing 7lbs 1oz. All done with only gas and air, feeling completely exhausted now but an amazing feeling being a mummy now!

Congratulations to all who have had there babies, it’s been so lovely to read! And I’m excited for all those rest who still get to have that moment I had yesterday. I shall try to never forget! 💙

justtowarm · 30/09/2018 05:44

Congratulations clueless,

My little girl was born yesterday at 8pm. Weighing 6lb 15 oz. after my waters went contractions never really started so was induced which progressed slowly but she is here now and beautiful :D

Havetothink · 30/09/2018 07:21

Congratulations Cluelessss and havetowarm hope you're both ok and babies are doing well Flowers

filzma · 30/09/2018 07:23

@justtowarm and @Cluelessss congratulations on your babies!!! Xxx Eeek, babies are coming.

@unicornchaser thanks, I think I'll amp it up to 4 cups. Currently taking 2. My mistake was to expect it to induce labour.Blush

Lila99 · 30/09/2018 08:00

Congratulations to you both! How lovely! I cannot shake the feeling that something is going to happen, although I am only 35+4 today, last 2 days I’ve felt very strange, with wierd feelings down below, emotional etc but haven’t had any kind of show yet so maybe just wishful thinking!

unicornchaser · 30/09/2018 09:33

Congratulations @justtowarm and @Cluelessss! So exciting seeing all these babies coming (early, gives me hope!!)

@filzma, nah unfortunately it won't bring labour on. I don't think any of the home remedies actually will tbh! I'm going to be doing them all (well almost all) anyway!
On the ball, drinking the tea, eating the 6 dates a day already. Adding pineapple to my weekly shop from today, will start evening primrose oil on Tuesday at 36 weeks and clary sage oil in a bath from 38 weeks.

midnight1983 · 30/09/2018 10:24

Congratulations @justtowarm and @cluelesss! Wishing you all well.

I am half wishing labour would come and half not...the virus I have is just hanging around and I'm feeling so unwell. Its very overwhelming when being this pregnant! I do remember having a bad virus just before I had my first son though...

twobambinos · 30/09/2018 10:50

Congratulations @justtowarm and @cluelessss those were lovely updates to wake up to this morning.
I hope all is going well for you all. And that you are enjoying every minute.

@lila99 you never know.

sparkling123 · 30/09/2018 11:08

Congratulations @justtowarm and @Cluelessss!!! ThanksSmile Lovely to hear about your new arrivals. Can't wait to hear more! Good luck everyone for the next few weeks, so exciting! x

oreolovegood · 30/09/2018 11:14

Amazing news! Congratulations to everyone having their babies already, how exciting! Thanks

I went into hospital yesterday with RFM and was strapped up. Took her ages to wake up and was monitored for over an hour. She woke up for about 10 minutes then went back to sleep. They let me go as I've got a scan tomorrow anyway (standard growth scan) and said to ring back if she doesn't start moving again and she hasn't but I feel like I'm being that really over anxious first time mum if I ring back!

I'm 36+5 now but if I call again it'll be my 4th time going in for reduced movements Sad ahhh! Im so over emotional, cried all yesterday evening and over thinking everything! Must say I'm ready for her to make an appearance now!

midnight1983 · 30/09/2018 11:45

@oreolovegood I have been in your position before in both pregnancies and I would really recommend just calling again, if even just for your own reassurance. No one will criticise you for calling in. I'm sure everything will be fine but you need to know that for yourself. Best of luck.

nervousFTM · 30/09/2018 15:27

Congrats ladies what wonderful news! Please remember to also join the postnatal group so we can continue talking baby and beyond 💖💙 though I'm keenly staying on this group as we watch more babies arrive 🎉
