@meetthewildes anaemia is so frustrating. The iron tablets fixed my haemoglobin levels (although still borderline low for pregnancy) but my B12 is still very low. I have the midwive telling me I should have injections but my GP is saying she would normally give them and I could have them but wait and retested after the baby is born as it's only 2 1/2 weeks and no "damage" will be done in that time 🙈. I have given up they can decide between themselves!

@midnight1983 my little one did that in the week two nights in a row (and he is normally a good sleeper!) Hopefully you will get a nap today.

Hope your holding up ok at the hospital @ladydolly

And Hope everyone else is doing ok and isn't to fed up

oreolovegood · 23/09/2018 11:05

Morning ladies. Been getting the worst cramps and back pains since yesterday but only about every 3 hours. They are regular and much stronger than what I've had before but so far apart!

Counting down the days now until we can meet her now and my body stops tricking me into thinking we are nearly there Grin

Havetothink · 23/09/2018 12:06

38 weeks tomorrow, no signs, but I'm ready when she is.

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 23/09/2018 12:41

38+2 today, have my c section booked for this Thursday as baby has been breech/transverse the whole way through! Had an EMCS last time so almost looking forward to a calm planned birth this time. Trying to get everything sorted and ready so I can concentrate on the baby and healing my wound when I get home.

Hope everyone else is doing well, definitely in the home straight now!

twobambinos · 23/09/2018 12:42

@oreolovegood hopefully the pains are doing something and will make the labour shorter fingers crossed.

@havetothink it can happen with no signs at all. It did for me on mine. It's the only comfort I'm taking now because the same again no sign of anything happening.

I have major anxiety and really am just wishing for it to be all over and done with now. My dh is really annoying me too he can be the best in the world but at times it really feels like I have to spoonfeed him the right things to say or do and I feel that kind of defeats the purpose

afloat · 23/09/2018 19:03

Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected. 38+5 today and symptom spotting like mad! I am paranoid about waters breaking a little and getting an infection as that led to my EMCS last time. Getting plenty of BH, they’re taunting me. Trying to enjoy the last couple of days/weeks but the not knowing kills me!

meetthewildes · 24/09/2018 07:48

@oreolovegood how are you doing? I hope the cramps have either ramped up and produced a baby or buggered off entirely by now.

@twobambinos the anxiety is the worst. Mine hasn’t kicked in yet but I was a basket case by the time that I went overdue with the girls. I hope that you have a relatively easy time, anxiety-wise, and this baby doesn’t keep you waiting too long. @afloat, likewise, I hope that you have a much easier time than last time, and it happens soonish so you don’t have to worry for long.

This time in a month is my due date! I am still thoroughly unprepared, and have nothing for the baby save a Pinterest board of first outfits. I’ve been experimenting with hypnobirthing but unfortunately the ‘up breathing’ appears to make me faint..!

oreolovegood · 24/09/2018 09:01

@meetthewildes still going but around every 2 hours now so we might be getting somewhere extremely slowly!
Been trying everything to get them going faster or to leave but they're doing what they want Hmm

meetthewildes · 24/09/2018 09:08

@oreolovegood if I may, I recommend rest. Your body knows what to do, it will kick in and do it when it's ready.. and you want to be in the best shape you can be when that happens. Can't wait to hear baby news soon!

oreolovegood · 24/09/2018 09:11

@meetthewildes ah I will do from now! Got a mani pedi booked this morning as a late minute pamper to myself and everything baby is sorted now. Hospital bag packed and ready to go Grin

Good luck to you too!
Hopefully it'll fly by and everything will be prepared Smile

twobambinos · 24/09/2018 11:08

Good luck today @ladydolly

@oreolovegood hopefully your body will either get on with it or let you rest it won't be long now.

I am so tired today. My head feels funny probably from the lack of sleep.

twobambinos · 24/09/2018 11:10

@meetthewildes I don't remember being like this on my first two pregnancies but I have been a bundle of nerves from the start of this one the reasons for which changed as I went along but the anxiety remains. I hope the baby shows up soon. I think its made worse because

twobambinos · 24/09/2018 11:12

Ah sugar posted too soon... Because closer you get to due date labour really doesn't take you by suprise does that make sense.
Hopefully your one will suprise you and come just a teeny bit before you expect it. I kind of feel like I did my time already with two overdue pregnancy and this one should have arrived early but I don't think that is going to happen Grin so far today so good anyway apart from the strange head.

Hope everyone else is having a lovely day

midnight1983 · 24/09/2018 16:14

Hope all is well for you today @ladydolly.

@meetthewildes @twobambinos I identify with the anxiety. I think for me, because I've done it before I'm anticipating birth in a different way than I did the first time. Made worse by strangers and aquaintences asking me when Im due... So annoying!

ladydolly · 25/09/2018 00:13

Babydolly arrived safe and sound st 10.58 this morning by a very relaxed c section. 8lb 15oz so I think had I gone over like last time she would have been another 10lber! They're so busy I was in recovery for 8 hours waiting for a bed, it was lovely and peaceful though. I'm already exhausted and she has been on the boob all day and now all night lt looks like!

filzma · 25/09/2018 00:16

Congratulations @ladydolly on your baby girl!!! Glad you had such a positive experience. Wish you a quick recovery and hopefully you can get some rest.

twobambinos · 25/09/2018 00:29

Huge congratulations @ladydolly delighted it went so well. She was a fine size wasn't she.hope the recovery goes well enjoy every minute

justtowarm · 25/09/2018 07:05

Congratulations @ladydolly, what a lovely update and brilliant she has taken to feeding so well.

Hope everyone else is ok?

oreolovegood · 25/09/2018 09:04

Congratulations @ladydolly so pleased for you! Glad you are both doing okay and that it all went well! Thanks

Havetothink · 25/09/2018 10:25

I really want to go back to bed today, 2yr old says no but seriously don't feel like doing anything, paracetamol may be in order.

midnight1983 · 25/09/2018 10:33

Congratulations @ladydolly! Hope baby is giving you a bit of a rest.

I've woken up with what looks like tonsillitis 😕 going to see what the doctor says...

Thegirlhasnoname · 25/09/2018 11:50

Congratulations @ladydolly! It’s so weird (in the best way) that people are already having their October babies when it seems like just yesterday I got my BFP - I’m not due til 27/10 so think I’ll be one of the last to have my babies here or maybe even be shifted into a November group! 😅

I got a letter from the health visitor today saying she’ll be coming round for a visit this Friday (it’s a good job I’ve already finished work but definitely no time for DH to arrange to get it off as she requested in the letter 🙄) and was wondering if anybody who has already had theirs will be able to give me a low down of what to expect? All the baby furniture was due to be built this past weekend but with the husband catching my bad cold and us both being bed bound (not in a fun way!) that kind of didn’t happen. Are they going to want to see where baby will be sleeping? I have the box with a snuzpod in, it just isn’t built yet.. this week is looking to be manic and need to know whether I should try building it myself whilst DH is at work!

meetthewildes · 25/09/2018 11:57

Oh CONGRATULATIONS, @ladydolly! That's such a good weight. I bet she's an adorable little chunk.

@havetothink and @midnight1983 I am so sorry to hear that you're both suffering - as if pregnancy isn't trying enough, without adding illness into the mix. I hope that you have tons of support so that you can rest up, and that you feel better soon.

unicornchaser · 25/09/2018 13:52

I will be hanging on with you @Thegirlhasnoname, due date is 30th so think there is only 1 in the group due after me. It will likely be November though before his appearance!

I've had no mention of a health visitor visit before the baby arrives 🤔 I hope this isn't something that gets sprung on me as the nursery is a general dumping ground with a wardrobe & drawers in just now since it won't actually be getting used by baby until 6/7 months.......

meetthewildes · 25/09/2018 14:33

Mine is due on the 24th, but even my twins went to 41+3 so I'm not expecting a singleton before 42 weeks! Happy to take last place; I'd much rather a November baby!

We had the letter through from the health visitor. I've declined as I will still be at work, and requested that going forward I'm not contacted about unsolicited appointments. I'll be returning to work when this little one is two weeks old, about the same time as we'll be discharged from midwife support, so being eyeballed by another service simply doesn't work for us. I actually find it really frustrating and much preferred the old system, where if you had any concerns you turned up at the nice hall down the road on a Tuesday morning but otherwise nobody bothered you.
