I'm so over being pregnant already! The swelling is so bad it has not reached the bottom of my bump, making moving around even more difficult!

I booked in for a section on the 3rd as both our babies are breech! Only 2 weeks to go it feels like forever away!!

Havetothink · 19/09/2018 02:23

twobambinos I thought the same earlier, back ache, felt sick but after two nothing followed so I've written it off as random cramp or BH. Have you had any more?

Havetothink · 19/09/2018 02:26

Smithguy86 that sounds very unpleasant, any chance they'll move your date forward due to the swelling?

Smithguy86 · 19/09/2018 02:48

I don't think so as my bp is ok atm and because it's twins my section is at 37 weeks so I'm already early! I've another appointment with the consultant next wed so I'll see what she says then but I'm expecting it will still be the 3rd!

filzma · 19/09/2018 05:45

I've had the same contraction type feeling but doesn't last. No swelling thankfully, that's if I haven't been on my feet too long.
Bladder fills up so fast so even when I do get a couple hours sleep, back to square one.

Oh and I noticed for those complaining about sleep, our due dates seem to be the early October.

twobambinos · 19/09/2018 08:41

@havetothink Well I had 4 pains that amounted to nothing and managed to sleep at 4am. Its going to be a long day.

I thought the insomnia for me was heartburn got tablets for that last week so now I think it's anxiety. Maybe I'll be so worn out one of these nights that I will just get a full night. Hmmm wishful thinking.

Awe @smithguy86 the swelling sounds super uncomfortable hope you get some relief so. Can't imagine how hard it is to be carrying around two babies.

@filzma I haven't got swelling in any of my pregnancies or the bladder side effects either but enough other ones to compensate.

Hopefully today will be a good day for everyone.

Havetothink · 19/09/2018 08:52

The insomnia must be hormones to some extent. Last night I slept 2 hours, up for 3 1/2 then slept another 3 and I don't feel too bad today. Yesterday I got 4 hours sleep and was shattered.

Baby is starting to feel very low, getting shooting pains and I can hardly walk. Don't have another midwife appointment until 40 weeks so can't confirm she's engaged till then but it definitely feels like it. I read it generally happens much closer to labour in second pregnancies so fingers crossed it's not too long.

meetthewildes · 19/09/2018 10:11

@Smithguy86 congratulations on your twins! I hope that the next few weeks fly for you; I have two sets of twins so I know how draining that last bit of a twin pregnancy can be.

35 weeks today! Everything boringly normal here; aside from that I'm gestating an octopus on speed, I don't even feel pregnant. It's a bit disconcerting and making me feel like I have a long, long time before a baby will show up... so I'm going to be a little taken aback if this little monkey shows up before 42 weeks! Growth scan in a week, appointment with the home birth team in two weeks, and then I guess it's just a waiting game. Odd. Very odd.

filzma · 19/09/2018 12:05

@meetthewildes 2 sets of twins!! Wow that's amazing. How old are they?

meetthewildes · 19/09/2018 12:07

@filzma They are two years old (girls) and three years old, four next month (boys).

filzma · 19/09/2018 13:25

I don't know how you do it. I think we're only given/blessed with what we can handle. You're one strong mama!!

Penguina · 19/09/2018 18:03

GOt to go for growth scan tomorrow for stunted growth. Arghhh. Which is ridiculous as I feel like a flipping whale. Can’t be arsed to pick anything up that I or toddler drops. He insists on being carried everywhere - going to have a big shock in 3 weeks mwahaha

justtowarm · 19/09/2018 20:05

I have hated today, I took my little boy to a singing group.... he was a demon (a cute one maybe but still a demon) I was having to run around after him/wrestle him.

At the group I then either pee'd or sweated so much that I had a big wet patch all over my crotch (even with a panty liner!) que some mild panic what if my waters have gone, I'm pretty sure they haven't but will mention it to the midwife tomorrow.

At home my house looks like a tip and I am scared someone will turn up unannounced but every time I try and sort it out I get crazy amounts of Braxton Hicks which hurt.

To top it all off my DH is being fecking useless, so I had a complete and utter emotional breakdown at him as soon as he came through the door.... sobbing and all.

I am so ready to have this baby pregnancy is not my friend (sorry for the moan I needed to get it out 🙈)

meetthewildes · 19/09/2018 20:19

@Penguina you've had a stressful few weeks! How are you feeling, emotuonally? I hope that the growth scan tomorrow shows a normal-sized little munchkin.

@justtowarm I'm so sorry that you've had such a ghastly day. Get some rest if you can; nobody will judge you or care about the state of your house right now. I hope that baby pops out soon.

I am apparently properly bloody anaemic, which is ridiculous because I feel so well. My last pregnancy necessitated an iron infusion at about this point and whilst I didn't mind the experience, I am miffed that my body isn't doing what it's meant to be doing - AGAIN. Argh. On the bright side, my maternity photos/videos came back today and they're truly lovely. I still look like a hobbit, I'm not conventionally beautiful in the LEAST, but goodness me am I glad that I had the chance to have my body properly documented.

midnight1983 · 19/09/2018 20:33

@justtowarn I'm sorry your day has been so shitty, I hope it improves this evening.

I massively identify - I'm struggling with intense emotions and low mood. Really ready to just give birth now...

twobambinos · 19/09/2018 21:13

@justtowarm sorry about your crap day. I can identify with the dh part. Mine was a bloody pain in the arse today but if I say anything I'm just critical and hormonal. No seriously dh you need to cop on.

@meetthewildes glad that you are happy with the photos they will be a nice momento to have.
I didn't take many mostly tried to avoid the pics in pregnancy.

@penguina hopefully the scan is just precautions and it shows a perfectly normal size baby.

@midnight1983 same as that just so ready to not be pregnant anymore.

justtowarm · 20/09/2018 07:54

Thank you for all being lovely yesterday. Good night sleep (well you know only waking up twice to pee) has sorted me out :)

@Penguina good luck with your scan today, hopefully all is well. I keep measuring big with the midwife but scans show that they baby is average and my weight gain is pretty good/low. They just keep telling me the measuring the bump is accurate so hopefully that is the case.

@meetthewildes glad you are happy with your photos. They will be such lovely things to keep.

@midnight1983 My emotions are all over the place at the moment. I rarely cry and I think it freaked dh out. He got up early and sorted out the house and has been lovely.

@twobambinos Dh is still a pain in the arse most of the time at the moment though. I give it half a day before he has forgotten I am heavily pregnant 🙈

I just hope we all have lovely healthy babies soon!

Thegirlhasnoname · 20/09/2018 10:45

Has anybody got any tricks to get through being heavily pregnant with a stinking cold? Such a bad nights sleep last night as I am struggling to breath with my nose and ended up throwing up I was coughing that much (luckily baby seems to be fine with it all but her kicking my tender abdomen isn’t too much fun!)

Having lots of envy towards those that have a bad cold and can drink lemsips right now Envy

midnight1983 · 20/09/2018 10:58

@Thegirlhasnoname I have had bad colds throughout both my pregnancies and this time asthma as well so I feel your pain! My best tip is to get some sterimar sea salt spray - it really helps with the congestion and is just salted water so I was told its fine to use. Its not cheap at 8 quid but very worth it.

Also, run the shower really hot and close the door - don't get in the shower but just stand in the same room and breath in the steam.

Good luck and feel better soon.

unicornchaser · 20/09/2018 13:06

@Thegirlhasnoname saline spray may help break up some of the congestion and you can use paracetamol and vicks vapour rub.
Maybe steaming with the vicks might help?

I have been here since we began but have name changed! I’m getting so excited now I’ve put the cot up (I couldn’t wait for DP to get home so did it myself!) makes it feel so much more real seeing it there next to my bed. Still got 3 more weeks until maternity leave so am so excited to just have time off and do nothing until the baby arrives!

Thegirlhasnoname · 20/09/2018 17:10

Thank you both @unicornchaser and @midnight1983. DH has been tasked with getting supplies on his way home from work and I’m currently trying to convince myself that a 4 hour nap still classes as a nap Wink

unicornchaser · 20/09/2018 17:39

Of course there is honey and lemon too, Manuka honey is supposed to have a wealth of healing goodness to it so is always my go to honey when I feel rubbish

OP posts:
twobambinos · 20/09/2018 17:42

@thegirlhasnonane you don't need to justify anything as a nap now. Your body needs sleep.
I find hot drinks really do help even ribena or any cordial heated up is nice and refreshing. It's miserable being sick with no medicine.

@daisychain22 well done on the cot make it seem so real doesn't it.

@justtowarm awe glad you are feeling better. I really don't give my dh enough credit he is usually great and at least he tries but yesterday was just long. Hmm

I can't quite believe im nearly into single days probably because I'm convinced I'll go over. Baby is already nearly a pound bigger than my biggest so far and I am really hoping he comes out soon Shock

twobambinos · 20/09/2018 17:42

@penguina I hope your growth scan went OK today
