Talking of scans I must have the most scanned baby in London! Just spent another 2 hours in triage for RFM - so tired of it 😢😢 every time the CTG / scan / heartbeat etc is perfect and healthy - not sure why baby is so quiet sometimes. Anterior placenta can't help, or that I've never had an established pattern. Had way too many bereavements and losse

nervousFTM · 13/09/2018 22:32

Oops that sent too soon-

.... and losses last year, also had a harmony test and CVS after shitty combined test results so this pregnancy has been a rollercoaster of anxiety (which I can't help but take out on my husband!).

They are talking about inducing me at 38 weeks as I've had 6 episodes of RFM but I'm scared of induction 😢 any advice?

nervousFTM · 13/09/2018 22:34

PS I certainly admire women who can do this pregnancy malarkey more than once. It's really not for me!! 😫🤦🏻‍♀️

justtowarm · 13/09/2018 23:47

@nervousFTM please don't be nervous of induction. Yes you read all the horror stories online about labour lasting days or not working. However I was induced at 38 weeks with my son due to Preeclampsia, From them starting the process to his birth was 22 hours. Only 6 hours of that was in established labour, so it was mostly just waiting around or the start of contractions which were more frequent because of the induction but were completely tolerable. I have heard of lots of induction stories like mine which were fine, I guess the scary ones just stand out more.

midnight1983 · 14/09/2018 06:47

@nervousFTM sorry to hear how much stress you've been under. I had an anterior placenta with my first baby and I went in for reduced movements a lot. It made me
very very anxious, but like you every time they did a trace baby was fine. It was exhausting but it's very typical for anterior placenta and you have done the right thing going in for the trace. Really glad fo hear all is well with baby.

I was also induced (not for RFM but for water breaking and no contractions) and it went fine. Don't be scared, they know what they are doing and you will be looked after.

midnight1983 · 14/09/2018 06:48

@unicornchaser my first was fairly big at 8.6 pounds so I'm convinced this one will be bigger even though the scan has shown an estimated average weight... So it didn't reassure me that much!

sparkling123 · 14/09/2018 09:08

Ahh feeling for you ftm, it is really nerve wracking, I've got an anterior placenta too and been in a few times for rfm. I also has a loss last year, and pregnancy started off with a lot of stress over bleeding which turned out ok, to now be having stress over not feeling baby move.
It is so hard isn't it! No experience of induction myself but I know my Mum was, and a couple of friends who were. All was fine and straight forward them. x

sparkling123 · 14/09/2018 10:28

Anyone else think it's not sinking in for their partners? Mine has just sent me a link to a classic car he wants to buy!!! To be fair it is nice BUT we can't afford it and I'm due in under 5 weeks and this is the last thing I can honestly entertain. Don't know whether to laugh, cry or both. He is always like this and I generally smile and nod but I feel like saying 'I don't effing care, I've been growing an baby for the last 8 months and am about to effing have said baby, please focus on the effing task in hand!!!!' Grin

Havetothink · 14/09/2018 11:43

My dh did something similar before our last baby, suddenly interested in convertibles. I told him if you can get me and a car seat in it fine. He did not buy a convertible. I think it's a last ditch attempt to feel free before baby arrives Smile

sparkling123 · 14/09/2018 12:12

Havetothink, yeah I think you're right, he is a total petrol head but he is gonna have a reality check in a few weeks 😂

meetthewildes · 14/09/2018 14:34

@2ndPGchimp It was super fun and I am so, so lucky to have been offered the opportunity by a photographer friend. For what it's worth, I'm not conventionally beautiful in the least - in fact, I rather resemble a hobbit! - but it was nice to play at being somebody else, and I know that I'll treasure the images.

@nervousFTM I have no advice, I'm afraid, but I'm sending love.

@sparkling123 oh, bless. I have some sympathy; I never come closer to buying a horse than in the last month or so of pregnancy! I think it is, as @havetothink says, a last-ditch desperate clutch at freedom! Tell him to hang on in there.

@havetothink are you sleeping any better now..?

I'm taking my sons to listen to the baby's heartbeat at a midwife appointment tomorrow. I'm so excited; I think they'll get a huge kick out of it!

sparkling123 · 14/09/2018 15:41

Awww wildes, that is going to be really cute and exciting for your little one!

Havetothink · 14/09/2018 16:43

meetthewildes yes thanks for asking, I slept much better now the cold is easing off (albeit sort of upright)

Slight hitch at midwife appointment this morning as baby decided that would be a good time to turn transverse, sooo now I have a scan booked for Monday, something I really didn't want at this point. Trying hard not to totally freak out as I know baby can still turn but I'm terrified that if she doesn't turn they'll start talking c-sections and I really really don't want one (will burst into tears if they even bring it up). Fingers crossed she turns by Monday 😕

meetthewildes · 14/09/2018 16:54

@havetothink Oh the little monkey! Remind me, how many weeks are you? One of my twins managed to flip from breech to cephalic at 34 weeks; it's amazing how far they can stretch you in order to turn if necessary..! If she's flipped once, she can flip back so try not to worry too much. Lots of swimming on your front this weekend?

nervousFTM · 14/09/2018 17:00

🎀 you ladies are such a supportive bunch THANK YOU! I can't even talk to my mum about latest RFM as we had a big fight last weekend when I found out she'd been telling extended family about my hospital visits even though she knew things turned out fine. I'm not announcing this pregnancy on social media or anything as don't want wider network involved - so I was pretty cross with mum. Then she says stuff like "oh this pregnancy is such a stress for us all" and "we don't know what we can and can't say" 🙄😫🤦🏻‍♀️ ... anyway!!

@justtowarm @midnight1983 @sparkling123 thank you for sharing your stories of induction and RFM, really comforting. I had to go back today as triage doctor said I needed to (even though was there late last night) for another CRG and again all is fine. Starting to think I'm imagining the RFM. But they are now seriously talking about induction so I'm glad to hear it's not always bad. Were they for your first babies?

Love the fast car buying stories 😂 we just got our first car but it's a sensible family Audi lol. I should count myself lucky the most expensive thing my husband is obsessed with atm is a baby monitor!

@Havetothink I've my fingers crossed for you and am sure baby will turn in time! How many weeks are you?

nervousFTM · 14/09/2018 17:01

*CTG

Havetothink · 14/09/2018 17:48

I will be 37 weeks on Monday. Might try the swimming meetthewildes

justtowarm · 14/09/2018 18:13

@nervousFTM it was my first. I have a booked induction this time as well (two days before my due date so 9/10/18) as they don't want me to go over due to last time. I actually feel reassured as it's nice to have everything planned (although she could still come before).

Is anyone else getting paranoid that there babies will come early? The midwife told me yesterday the baby is starting to descend into the pelvis 4/5, and I am getting so much cramping and the Braxton Hicks are even more frequent and strong (although not regular). It feel like things are happening (although rationally I know it could still be weeks).

2ndPGchimp · 14/09/2018 18:45

@justtowarm yes, I am totally convinced he could turn up early, despite going to 41 weeks last time! I have 1 more week of work and really want to have some down time before he comes, but am convinced it won't happen.

I have had pelvic pain since about 14 weeks, which has always been in my lower back. But for the last couple of days it has been at the front right under the bump. It is really painful when getting up, but then loosens after walking. Anyone else had this? Full disclosure my 4 yo also kicked me in the fouff a few days ago (in excitement would you believe) so I suppose it might be that!

justtowarm · 14/09/2018 20:41

@2ndPGchimp I am getting lots of lower back pain (which feels like period pains though) and sharp pain low down at the front (I think this is the baby moving down).
I'm just feeling very uncomfortable now and not sure how I'm going to last 3 1/2 weeks like this, so I think every twinge gets my hopes up/ is wishful thinking 🙈

midnight1983 · 14/09/2018 20:52

@nervousFTM just try to focus on yourself and minimise interaction with people who are stressing you right now. I'm sorry your mum is not liste ing to your wishes.

I am also very paranoid about Labour happening early! So much back pain and had a lot of Braxton hicks that feel like mild versions of the back labour I had with my first baby. I think it's just baby moving down but it feels scary. I guess I'm a few days away from full term so it's silly to worry now.

At the midwife today we briefly talked about birth plan - I said I wasn't going to make one as my first labour showed me its a bit pointless but just said I want to express a strong preference not to have epidural again. Epidural was great for first part of labour but not useful at the end when I had to push with no feeling so I'm really not keen for one again. Has anyone made a birth plan? I like the idea of planning but I had no control over my first labour so I'm just going in open minded with this one.

nervousFTM · 15/09/2018 02:19

So I'm 34+6 and waters broke tonight just as I was about to sleep 😫 hubby drunk at a wedding in Scotland and my mum should be here any moment - she's driven from Oxford. Not dilated so being induced and getting steroid injections. Please wish me and this very early little one luck! Xx

nervousFTM · 15/09/2018 02:19

I'm in London btw! So Scotland quite far 🤦🏻‍♀️

Havetothink · 15/09/2018 03:07

Best of luck nervousFTM hope the littln will be alright and you're both ok Flowers

justtowarm · 15/09/2018 03:14

Good luck @nervousFTM will be thinking of you and your little one. Hopefully your husband will be able to find a way to you in time x
