@cherrypie18 yes me! So painful. I do get up to drink water at least two times a night...

meetthewildes · 29/08/2018 10:24

Hello! Does anyone mind if I hop in here? I'm 32 weeks exactly, due on the 24th October with my first singleton baby after two sets of twins. Expecting this one to show up in early November as my last set of twins went comfortably to 41+3, and will be decidedly unimpressed if it arrives any sooner than 41 weeks, which is my sons' fourth birthday.

I'm feeling physically fine, emotionally completely underprepared but excited to welcome a new addition to the family. We haven't found out the sex and I can't wait to have that moment when he or she is born.

How are you all? Do you have names yet..? I think we might - finally - have come to an agreement.

Al82 · 29/08/2018 16:34

Hello,
Hope you don’t mind if I join this thread too? I was on another October babies thread and this one was recommended 😊

I’m due with a little girl on October 20th. It will be my second but my first is 14 so there is so much I’ve forgotten and new advice since then!!

Penguina · 29/08/2018 20:42

My dreams are going insane!

I had a dream I was on the loo and started to pull my pants down in bed - had to check for damp in the morning ! Luckily I think I woke up and stopped myself but yikes.

Although to be fair that bed is going to see some pretty vile stuff soon so must get a protector for it!

@meetthewildes welcome! I follow you on Instagram (geek!)

twobambinos · 29/08/2018 21:47

Welcome @meetthewildes Shock at carrying twins to 41weeks. I've only had two singletons and 41 on the second dd was enough to nearly tip me over the edge never mind trying to carry two around.
This one might surprise you and show up on time? And I'm secretly hoping my own third pregnancy is the same. My official estimated due date is in September but I'm so convinced it will be October.

@penguina are you having a home birth? If not your bed might be OK. Mine has been to date. But I would love a good excuse for a new mattress. Grin

We have a few names here but not overly keen on any of them. So different to the last time.

Yes re the leg cramps woke up one night screaming in pain with them but thankfully they didn't make an appearance since. I try to vary up the shoes I wear to make sure they are all different height heels. Not sure if that helps or not but in my mind it does.

ladydolly · 30/08/2018 08:01

@meetthewildes how much did your last twins weigh? That's a lot to carry around! I went to 42+1 with my first, I just didn't feel 'ready' so was happy to carry on. This time however I feel like this baby could come at any time!

I admit defeat, I can't sleep. I'm up for 2 hours in the middle of the night no matter what I do. As much as Iove having dd off with me I can't wait to have a nap every day once she's back in nursery!

justtowarm · 30/08/2018 08:53

@ladydolly I am so there with you, I love my little boy so much but I can't wait for him to start preschool. The thought of three mornings a week to do nothing (because that is what I will be doing 🙈) at the moment feel like heaven!

meetthewildes · 30/08/2018 09:04

@AI82 Welcome! That's quite an age gap..! I know somebody with an 11-year gap between their two and they love it; the children get all of the benefits of being raised as 'only children', whilst still having a sibling to enjoy in later life.

@penguina Hi!! Nice to 'see' you on here. When are you due?

@twobambinos I was so adamantly anti-induction and made a HUGE thing of it... and then by the time they went overdue I felt a bit too sheepish and silly to be like, "Ok get them out now". This one had better not show up before we've finished redecorating! I don't mind going late if I still feel fine; I've been really fortunate to have an easy pregnancy so far.

@Ladydolly they weighed 7lbs 8oz and 5lbs 10oz. Sorry to hear that you're not sleeping, it's the absolute worst. I've taken to enjoying long soaks in the bath in the middle of the night and calling it 'me time' - it softens the blow a little!

Dbear35 · 30/08/2018 12:04

Hi all thanks for the warm welcome Smile

@pengunia My dreams have become a lot more vivid recently not sure what that's about but some them have been very saucy!! LOL

@cherrypie18 yep had a few wks of leg cramps woke up and scared the living daylights out of the DH ...now I've taken to drinking a lot more water and drinking some tonic water ...it seems to have helped so try that.

Re names we have had one since starting IVF treatment I just hope little lady fits the name!

xx

sparkling123 · 30/08/2018 13:55

Does anyone know their babies position? Mine decided to turn to breech last week after being head down for ages 🤦‍♀️ I'm 33 weeks today! Wondering if anyone had similar and if they are attempting anything to get baby the right way round?

Dbear35 · 30/08/2018 14:39

Hi @sparkling123 my last app she was transverse I have my next one next wk and hope that she is head down however I've had kicks to the right had side of my bump so not sure she is!

I have read that doing pelvis circles on a birthing ball , going up and down a curb and sitting with your pelvis forward so higher than your knees can help turn baby. Also there is also a website called spinningbabies.com that may help?

Still plenty of time for baby to move though x

Penguina · 30/08/2018 16:52

@twobambinos no to homebirth . I’m having an elective section but that doesn’t stop the leaky boobs and heavy pp bleeding! I must buy a mattress protector!

@meetthewildes due on 18.10 but a section a week prior.

I hate to moan but am finding everything such hard work. Roll on school again. My eldest is in a wheelchair and pushing and carrying her around and chasing a 2 year old is taking its toll!!!

Havetothink · 30/08/2018 18:47

I honestly can't tell what position baby is in these days other than it's not the best one. Was head down back to back long at my last appointment (over two weeks ago). It keeps shifting but never settles with it's back at the front 😞

MissKatyKat · 30/08/2018 19:03

I was told the head is engaged and ready at my last appointment on Tuesday and I'm only 34 weeks with a small bump so I wasn't expecting to hear that.

sparkling123 · 30/08/2018 19:36

I saw spinning babies, I'm gonna be trying everything haha! Hopefully she will turn but at least they are monitoring it now and I've got time to get head round having a c section if I need it.

justtowarm · 30/08/2018 20:29

@sparkling123 my little bundle was head down, turned to breech and has turned back and forth twice now but thankfully seems to be head down at the mo 🙈. My nephew was breech until 37 weeks and then turned. Do not worry yet :)

sparkling123 · 30/08/2018 20:39

Ah justtowarm, good to know mine is not the only one that is fidgety! She doesn't seem very active overall so I couldn't believe it when they said she'd spun upside down 😱😂

midnight1983 · 30/08/2018 20:45

Welcome to all the new faces and congrats all round.

Midwife told me my baby was in breech position three weeks ago... But today was told head down 🎉🎉 I have been walking a lot and bouncing on a birthing ball.

Just been in for reduced movements today. All is absolutely fine thanks goodness... Felt very silly as as soon as the belt was on me he started bouncing around like crazy ☺️ They were very nice and said to always call in if worried and I am so glad I did.

sparkling123 · 31/08/2018 08:25

Aw midnight, fingers crossed mine will move!

Dbear35 · 31/08/2018 16:35

@midnight1983 glad all was OK I know the feeling of panic and then embarrassment when they start moving the moment you get there! little buggers Smile

im walking and birthing all daily to help with position..still have a few wks to go but anything to help!

midnight1983 · 31/08/2018 18:02

Thanks all. Yes always better to go in and get reassured.

Saw my midwife today and she said baby is not only head down but quite low down in the pelvis 🎉🎉 I was induced last time, so for those of you who have gone into labour naturally is this normal for 34 weeks or you can stay with the baby engaged for weeks? Hoping to avoid induction this time around...

twobambinos · 31/08/2018 22:19

@sparkling123 I think there's time to turn yet. One of my friends had breech at 36 and by 38 was head down.

My baby was head down last week at 35 hopefully it stays that way.

@midnight1983 glad all was OK. I had a scare this morning too and was just about to dial the ward when the baby started going crazy.

How is everyone else feeling? Insomnia here and heartburn but no more work I'm on holidays before mat leave kicks in. So I will be daytime sleeping while the dds are in school.

Baby can be engaged for weeks before birth or not at all engaged before labour no way of telling when the big day will be unfortunately but it could still happen soon.
My first dd I was only a few days over I was convinced second would be on time. No even later. This one will probably end up post term induced Grin as long as the baby doesn't grow too huge I don't mind the wait.

Belles86 · 31/08/2018 22:32

Heartburn, insomnia and newly acquired carpal tunnel. 👌 looking fwd to finishing work next week though. 😁

Havetothink · 01/09/2018 04:04

Insomnia, yep. Can't tell if it's the heart burn, the baby moving or the BH but I definitely don't sleep anymore.

Had a run of BH this evening that was a bit scary but they slowed up as I was telling DH we might have to call someone. It made me feel like when it happens for real labour might come on very quickly 😓 (unlike with my first when my waters went and nothing happened at all).

FromMaddieToMommie · 01/09/2018 09:01

Waiting for our first antenatal class eeek! Funny how even at 33 weeks I still get sudden "I'm actually having a baby" realisations
