aww @TinyTerror1 it sounds so frustrating, you just have to keep doing what you're doing and do what you can :) hopefully your reading will settle down soon.

I have felt so awful today my partner has taken a day off work to look after our son, so I can try and rest 🙈 if I don't feel more human and able to stay awake after that. I'm going to see the midwife. I feel completely drained, if I do anything I feel like I need to sit after a couple of minutes and can fall asleep just be closing my eyes at any time 🙈 my braxton hicks are really irregular still but they floor my when I get them (I know not like real ones but still) I get hot flushes with them, am really uncomfortable and feel breathless.

I feel like I'm being a bit of a worrier but I never felt like this when I was pregnant with my son, I was in a lot more pain as the SPD was crippling with him but no where near this run down it's weird.

I'm hoping it's just the low iron (although that was borderline low, they are just giving me the tablets as I had PPH last time).

Sorry for the rant I am just so tired and cranky today.

TinyTerror1 · 21/08/2018 10:29

You have my sympathies @justtowarm I've been really hot the last couple of days, not sure if it's hot flushes but I'm hotter than I was all during the really hot spell. I just walked to the shop and back - maybe 20 minutes including the slow amble around inside - and I feel completely shattered like I'd walked five miles. Very annoying as I am planning to go swimming in a bit.

How long have you been taking the tablets?

justtowarm · 21/08/2018 10:40

@TinyTerror1 only 5 days so far, so hopefully it will settle down :)

Yerp · 21/08/2018 11:47

I’ve been having more Braxton Hicks this morning and like a shooting/stabbing pain in my cervix. Like the fanny daggers when I was first pregnant. Anybody else feel this with their Braxton Hicks? They make me feel sick and dizzy too.

Havetothink · 21/08/2018 15:18

I get the odd pain with BH and they make me feel sick and heavy. No stabbing pains or dizziness yet (not with the BH anyway).

TinyTerror1 · 21/08/2018 16:31

Depending on what you read, fanny daggers are baby poking you in the cervix so it's possible the BH are making baby press on your cervix? Not sure though.

justtowarm · 21/08/2018 17:19

@Havetothink I haven't had fanny daggers this time but did with my first.

I get around 10 sometimes more braxton hicks a day. The heat seems to make them worst. I do get dizzy, breathless and hot flushes with them. Apparently all normal so long as not regular or causing pain.

Havetothink · 21/08/2018 17:47

Yes, I had some Danny daggers too with my first, I'm expecting them when baby drops more. I've definitely had the breathlessness and hot flushes. I've taken to noting down when I get them as I had a lot over a couple of days (and nights) and was getting worried. They've calmed down a bit but still keeping track.

TinyTerror1 · 21/08/2018 17:59

Been feeling uncomfortably bloated for a few hours and can't work out if it's BH or not. For me that's usually down in my lower abdomen and just feels heavy but this is tightness right across the top of my bump with intermittent nausea. Does that sound normal?

justtowarm · 21/08/2018 18:05

@TinyTerror1 the top of my bump (and while bump) goes rock solid and yes to the nausea at times with it.... isnt pregnancy fun 🙈.

I remember last time everyone saying oh enjoy it, it'll be harder when you have a newborn. I actually found the newborn stage lovely and much easier than pregnancy. Hoping for the same again 🙈

Yerp · 21/08/2018 18:32

justtowarm I’m hoping the newborn part is easier than the pregnancy too! I can’t wait til I can sit down without feeling like my lungs are being pushed up into my throat lol and to be able to roll over in bed without it being a military operation. Not to mention the pgp and everything else. I’m so hot tonight 😓😓🔥

justtowarm · 21/08/2018 18:56

@Yerp honestly for me the newborn stage has been the easiest with my son from his conception I had a bad pregnancy, my body really doesn't like it and once they are here I found as soon as they start to move (even just moving around in the floor) you have to be constantly alert to what they are doing.

Yes there is lack of sleep with the newborn stage and you are worried about feeding and weight gain etc. But I could manage those things better because apart from them I felt ok (and I had a bad birth needed to recover, but I still found it easier). Or maybe it's is just when you have a bad pregnancy the newborn stage isn't such a shock to the system 🙈🙈🙈.

It's so amazing having that little baby I think that made it worth while and the lack of spd/pgp helped 😂. I really feel for those who develop postnatal depression because I imagine how hard it is if those amazing feelings take months to come. And I'm sure it's again hard if you have a traumatic birth experience that you need time to come to terms with.

Havetothink · 21/08/2018 19:11

I can't say I found the newborn stage easier. I had a good pregnancy last time but the birth left me exhausted and anemic, we had a death in the family two days after dd was born and the lack of sleep was crushing. It got better after a few weeks, I just had no energy to start with. Hoping it'll be better this time.

Havetothink · 21/08/2018 19:13

Although I was glad to be rid of the acid reflux.

ladydolly · 21/08/2018 20:22

Newborn stage is much easier than 3rd trimester imo!

I've been in the hosp for monitoring the last couple of days after reduced movements but all fine now but decided to finish work a week early. The BH were stong but def only BH. There is a chance they'll bring my c section date forward because the baby is transverse so I don't feel too guilty about finishing earlier.

nervousFTM · 21/08/2018 21:21

@ladydolly I've been in a few times for RFM, but then I'm pretty anxious (first time Mum and way too many bereavements in 2017). Did they hook you up to CTG? And all is well now? X

ladydolly · 21/08/2018 21:34

@nervousFTM I saw my midwife and she gave me a good prod and she still wasn't responding despite having a good heartbeat so she sent me up there (I'm probably the other way, I always assume everything is fine and don't want to bother anyone) I had CTG monitoring yesterday and then another session of it this morning and a scan. She wasn't moving on the scan but placenta and waters were all ok. I don't know if the scan as well was because I have other things on my record, whenever I saw a new midwife or doctor they mentioned that I'd had a big baby with my first pregnancy so maybe that's an issue.
Anyway they were happy that it's probably just because she's in an odd position. They did offer to put me on daily monitoring but I feel ok without it and will just go back up if things get quiet again. As it happens she's been very wriggly today as usual so that's reassuring.

Everyone I saw told me to come up whenever I wanted and not to think I was bothering them so you shouldn't worry that you're nervous and have been a few times.

midnight1983 · 22/08/2018 11:40

Hello! Is it too late to rejoin this thread again? I'm due 11th October with my second boy and feeling very ropey now I'm nearing the end...

Filzma · 22/08/2018 12:12

Hi @midnight1983,of course not! Congratulations and welcome. Most of us are at that stage us well. Times flying though, so there's that to look forward to.

nervousFTM · 22/08/2018 13:05

@ladydolly yes they have been amazing at my hospital actually, on a plan of care now so twice weekly CTGs (having last one done now as I type!) and 2 scans, second of which is on Friday then back to routine care. Baby seems extremely active atm and have been very happy with quite a lot of movement the last few days Smile hope things continue to go well for you too. I'm also having a big baby Confused lol x

nervousFTM · 22/08/2018 13:09

This has probably been done on an earlier thread but am a bit late to the party!

wondering how many on here are FTMs (STMs you are an invaluable source of knowledge!!), ages of ladies and what area of UK people live??

I'm 38, FTM and live in London 😊 due 21st.

And finally is anyone else still exercising?

Or able to eat/drink something without dropping any of it onto your clothes?

justtowarm · 22/08/2018 13:31

@midnight1983 welcome back :)

I am a second time mum, 30 and from the south west. Due 11th October with a girl.

I am not really able do much exercise. Walking and bending hurt and seem to make the spd/pgp worst. I do have some exercises from the physio that I do but I'm but sure I'd call them exercise 🙈.

And I have never been able to eat without dropping food over my clothes 🙈

midnight1983 · 22/08/2018 13:35

Thanks all. Really nice to have a place to go on about all the pregnancy stuff! My husband must be sick of my moaning by now.

I am having my second baby and this pregnancy is very different; I had anterior placenta with my first and posterior this time. I can feel so much more this time!

Penny31 · 22/08/2018 15:09

Hi everyone

I posted in the very early days and have been lurking ever since.

Just marking my place really. Age 38, second child and due 15th October but likely to have a section at 39 weeks.

Can’t wait to finish work, 3.5 weeks to go!

Havetothink · 22/08/2018 16:42

STM, 34, East Anglia, due Oct 8th.

I'm attempting to swim a couple of times a week but my costume is getting snug and I'm getting slower and have to rest more than all the OAPs in the pool.

I can barely drink water without spilling it down myself these days.

midnight1983 same, mine was anterior last time, posterior this time, it's made a huge difference to movements.
