@Milknosugar1 that makes sense, when I get out of bed in the morning I feel like I may burst down there from pressure build up. Not sure how much more I can take over the next 9 weeks 😳

nervousFTM · 18/08/2018 09:53

@Doll87 hopefully hehe. I had a burst of "oh I feel lovely" for about two weeks around mid/late 2nd tri and even had some libido, but now everything is a chore! Luckily I manage to get a nightly foot massage out of this so not all bad 😂

unicornchaser · 19/08/2018 02:52

So lying awake after trying to sleep for the last three hours but impossible due to restless legs. This delight appears to have started in the last few nights but it's totally unbearable tonight 😩

Has anyone had magnesium sprays recommended by a doc or midwife? Are we ok to use them in pregnancy?

Awww @unicornchaser , I'm so sorry. Must be really bad to keep you awake. Hope you got a little relief and slept. Not sure about the magnesium. Anything for pain relief would be worth looking in to.xx

@unicornchaser my best mum mate had this and said anything cold helped. She pushed her bed close to the radiator and used to put her legs against that and went to bed with a frozen towel over them.

unicornchaser · 19/08/2018 09:40

Thanks ladies, I thought I had seen someone mentioning magnesium at some point so will see what @ATP1000 says about it.

I finally got to sleep at 3:30 sat up then woke at 6 with DH going out and fell back asleep again so not too bad. It's just the middle of the night it kills me. I napped yesterday afternoon and had no issue at all.

I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow so I will try and make it through tonight with the cold towels etc and see what she says tomorrow 😊
Tempted just to buy a small bottle of spread from Holland and Barrett as it's only £3 so I've got it is she tells me it's ok 🤔

Morning everyone! Yes I use magnesium spray for muscle cramps and muscle pain. The one I have is safe for pregnancy, I do limit the sprays but 3-4 does the trick for me. I’ve used it on my legs, round ligament and lower back/hip.

My midwife said it was ok but to use sparingly as @Milk says, it’s hard to know how much so I just do a few sprays, plus it does say safe during pregnancy so I’m not worried.

If you have a magnesium deficiency then your skin will feel tingly, it doesn’t last.
I hope you feel better soon @unicronchaser

Thanks @ATP1000 that's the spray I found recommended and was looking at.
It's mostly around my knees up to mid thigh and ankles up to mid calf that's the killers so will try a spray or 2 on each bit and see how it goes 👌🏻

Well, I'm back on the ice cream. It's hotter now than it was in the day Hmm

justtowarm · 19/08/2018 22:06

I'm also melting @Havetothink, my poor partner keeps trying to hug me but as he is a human radiator he has no chance 🙈

ATP1000 · 19/08/2018 22:44

I’m getting the ice packs back out again! It’s boiling tonight!

Filzma · 19/08/2018 23:07

Just had gaviscon and a pastry for dinner.

Flamingo19 · 20/08/2018 06:42

I was fine with work mostly, had a week off and back today and now all I can think about is maternity leave Sad I’m so tired and achy. 31 days to go!

Belles86 · 20/08/2018 07:01

I’m bringing my leave date forward. Planning on finishing at 36 weeks now, so 3 weeks left..😬😬😬

ladydolly · 20/08/2018 08:11

2 weeks left, 7 working days due to holidays. Cannot come too soon!!

justtowarm · 20/08/2018 08:23

I honestly don't know how you ladies are still managing work, I've been on annual leave for a week and am on it until 3 weeks before due date when mat leave starts.... I can literally barely function, my 2 year old exhausts me. I have started taking iron as it was a bit low but the tiredness is awful!

ladydolly · 20/08/2018 08:36

I felt dreadful when my iron levels were low but much better now. It's not really the tiredness, I don't feel that bad, it's just how uncomfortable I am. Standing, walking, sitting, nothing is comfy and I can only do each of them for 10 minutes max.

Plus work is really not that taxing, it's a desk job, my cover has already started and summer is so quiet for us. I'm really only there for the aircon.

unicornchaser · 20/08/2018 08:43

I'm kinda in the opposite situation...... been off for 5 weeks now and going out my mind with boredom! Too early to be finalising my bag and washing baby clothes etc, leaving them till around 34/35 weeks. I don't think I'd mind working just now so that it would at least distract me from the fact time has stood still! Well maybe not something that has me on my feet all day.....

Havetothink · 20/08/2018 09:02

Boredom sounds wonderful, rarely bored with a two year old. I can barely function either justtowarm I'm on annual leave too until maternity leave.

Havetothink · 20/08/2018 09:06

Btw unicornchaser I know boredom isn't really wonderful, I'd just kill for a proper day off 😴

justtowarm · 20/08/2018 09:14

Know how you feel @Havetothink my partner was able to get up with our 2 year old yesterday and I was able to sleep in for the first time in as long as I can remember (he wakes up at 6-7am every day) it was bliss.... well for about 2 hours before the tiredness and aching kicked in again 🙈 I do not think pregnancy suits me 🙈🙈🙈

Havetothink · 20/08/2018 09:50

I've started getting hot flushes. I thought it was just the heat but it's not that hot this morning 😰

Havetothink · 20/08/2018 09:51

😓 wrong pic

Havetothink · 20/08/2018 09:52
