Omg the itch is back 😖 boobs, belly, throat, underarms! E45 itch relief and a cream from the docs isn't really helping much, it's just driving me insane now!
As much as I have had an easy run of it, pregnancy is not as joyful as I always thought it was......

Hi everyone,

i had my 34 week midwife appointment today. We did the birth plan today which was fun! and baby is measuring 34cm which MW was happy about. Its really starting to feel real now

Belles86 · 17/08/2018 17:19

woohoo @Doll87 how exciting! I'm right behind you (due on the 4th) so excited to see what each week ahead has in store, got my 34 week appt on Weds, though I think we do birth plan at 36? Do you feel like time is going fast or slow? Are you working and if so, how long left? :)

Flamingo19 · 17/08/2018 17:25

I had my 28 week check today, although I’m 29+2. All is well, so happy after a week worrying about various things. I’m measuring 27cm which is just below the average apparently!

Doll87 · 17/08/2018 17:31

@Belles86 I still have 3 weeks left of work 😫 I am starting to feel pretty exhausted now but am determined to keep going lol! I have my baby shower next week and then midriff after that so the 3 weeks at work should go quick 🤞🏻 then 3 weeks off work before expected delivery day! It's going quick but then again it's not going quick lol! I do think it's gonna start flying by now! Countdown is on! What about you? Are you working?

Belles86 · 17/08/2018 18:20

Ah cool! Yeah one of the reasons I wanted to work til 37w was cause I know how neurotic I am and think I’d go mad at home. That said, I am struggling! Got another month in work but may pull it forward another week. Baby shower etc sounds nice too. Contemplating fish and chips on the sofa, Friday nights have changed! 😂

Doll87 · 17/08/2018 18:47

@Belles86 tell me about it....bra off and sitting in my dressing gown is what I look forward to most on a Friday now, I miss wine and late nights hahaha! However I don't miss hangovers!!

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 17/08/2018 19:16

I've put down that I'm working until 38 weeks on my Mat B1 form, major regret now!!!!

Worked until 37 weeks last time and then had 3 weeks doing nothing so thought I'd use the time after the birth instead. But now I'm sitting in work and most of the time I'm just thinking 'I don't care about any of this stuff'!! Arg!

nervousFTM · 17/08/2018 20:13

Anyone suffering from very puffy pubic area!?? I'm getting worried about it now 😭 have put on about 21lbs in 31 weeks and people say it's all belly (point being I'm not obese or anything) so not sure what this is all about and why there's a varicose vein there too... TMI sorry! I've been assessed for PGP and have a belly band which helps ease the belly gravity but I'm not sure this is PGP as doesn't hurt when I exercise (still daily) - only pressure at front of pubic area after long periods of sitting or lying down. Hate this puffiness!! Not sure if it will go away either 😳

Doll87 · 17/08/2018 20:37

@ConfusionIsNothingNew yeh I'm totally the same, I've passed a lot of my work over now so I'm literally twiddling my fingers waiting for maternity leave to start! But I'm so much happier now the weather has cooled off, I feel I can deal with anything now I'm not a hot slippery sweaty mess 24:7!

Doll87 · 17/08/2018 20:41

@nervousFTM yep 🙋🏻‍♀️ I have a puffy V, and I have a pain like I've pulled a muscle up there too which my GP said could be the dreaded varicose vein but it's hardly surprising what with all the extra fluid and weight we are carrying. It's a lot of pressure on our poor lady bits! I'm just focusing on that fact everything should return to normal after baby is here....🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Havetothink · 17/08/2018 20:45

nervousFTM had that last time, it's just caused by the pressure of the baby on the blood vessels. Came and went a bit but didn't properly go until I'd had the baby. A warm bath helps, maybe gentle excercise too to help with circulation.

Belles86 · 17/08/2018 21:09

@nervousFTM yep!! Noticed that today 😂😬

ladydolly · 17/08/2018 21:12

FTM I was induced with my DD as I was 14 days overdue. I had the pessary, nothing happened for 10 hours then contractions came every 3-4 minutes all night, not max intensity but too much to sleep or do anything like read a book. I had an epidural in the morning at 4cm. Everything moved slowly and late afternoon her heartrate was dropping and I had an emcs. BUT, she was 10lb3 and back to back, she was at an akward angle and her head never engaged. That doesn't mean it was down to being induced. It happens with 'natural' labours too. The midwives are on it, they won't hesitate if there's a problem. I do recommend an epidural though!!

Also fwiw I measured dead on for fundal height every appt and still gave birth to a giant. None of the clothes I had for her fit, she was too heavy to carry for a length of time and she could already hold her head up from day 1. It was like we went straight to a 6 week old! Neither dp.or I are big.

I'm now measuring 6 weeks ahead and grateful to be having a section at 39 weeks.

nervousFTM · 17/08/2018 21:40

@Doll87 the pain!! The pressure!! Also I was a regular 'all off' wax kind of girl but there's no way I'm subjecting my poor beautician friend to this mess 🤦🏻‍♀️ the varicose vein is one right and that feels so much more swollen. It's horrible! Hubby thinks he may be in with a chance of sex pre-baby.... LOL

nervousFTM · 17/08/2018 21:52

*on the right side not one right lol

Reading @ladydolly's post made me realise, how complications such as back to back, big baby's etc probably led to a higher mortality rate in the past. I mean, I've known for years (theoretically) that we didn't have the advancements we do now, then. However, actually knowing the implications of a long labour or low heart rate in baby... could make the difference...

Ahh it's 4am and sleep interrupted so forgive these musings.

My crotch like most of you.... smh. I have no words.

Oh and Aldi has their baby event for those interested! Apologies if it's been mentioned up thread.

Havetothink · 18/08/2018 04:43

Arrg, why can't I get back to sleep? I've been trying for 40 minutes and it's just not happening 😐

Filzma · 18/08/2018 05:27

@Havetothink I think this our body is preparing us for what's to come. I just had my breakfast (was starving) and now listening to an audiobook. Windows open, under the duvet - hopefully I'll be asleep soon.
Good luck.xx

Havetothink · 18/08/2018 06:10

Still awake. Got up, had some milk, back to bed, read for a bit. I'm just awake, it's ridiculous. Gonna have to get dh to watch dd later for a midday nap or something.

Filzma · 18/08/2018 06:19

Lol me too. Yawning quite a bit so hopefully will drift off soon.

Belles86 · 18/08/2018 06:38

Awake too and thinking about dressing gowns and final bits of hosp bag 😬😂

Doll87 · 18/08/2018 08:51

@nervousFTM yeh my grooming down below has had to be put on hold for now. I can't bear the thought of a professional doing any waxing and I can't see to do it myself anymore!!! How embarrassing lol but I figure personal appearance goes out the window soon as your preggo lol! Been to business when things go back to normal?! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Havetothink · 18/08/2018 08:59

Watching Bridget Jones Baby with dd (fast forwarded the screaming bit), dd sees the baby and says 'aww it's a new baby, it's so cute'. I may have cried. Hope she takes it that well when ours makes an appearance ☺
