April 2019 Babies

LulaRose · 20/07/2018 11:16

Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

Yes @SPR1107 I am!! Not all the time but now and again usually at night, it's so annoying!! Apparently it's the increased blood flow around the body

SPR1107 · 15/08/2018 11:49

That's glad to hear @Fluffy475.. I was worried it was a liver issue or something! Can you take piriton when pregnant?

Fluffy475 · 15/08/2018 11:51

@SPR1107 I don't think you can unfortunately as I've been struggling with hayfever!! I think if it got worse and was all the time then it could be the liver thing so just keep an eye on it

Braverthanweare · 15/08/2018 11:54

Is anyone else struggling with the long wait for the scan? After a previous early loss the wait is really hard this time, feeling really emotional about it ATM lucky hubbs gets it

Fluffy475 · 15/08/2018 11:56

Those asking about Facebook, there is a group so direct message @organised5 and she'll send you an invite.

Picked up my new car today, so exciting. Nice to have a proper reliable car for a change. Felt so yuk though this morning, which is typical as it's my first day off of a 2 week break. So enjoying being away from work already 😊

Allsorts24 · 15/08/2018 11:59

Hi Everyone,

Looks like we are going the April crew 🎉🎉

It's been a long time in waiting this one. We've been TTC for a year now and had a chemicals pregnancy 2 cycles ago.

This one feels strong though! My boobs are killing me! As is my back.

Due date I've calculated is 24th April this will be baby #2 we also have s beautiful little girl who turns 3 in September.

DartmoorDoughnut · 15/08/2018 12:04

Hello!

Wow this is a full thread already Grin

EDD of 22nd will be DC3 so I’ll have a 4yr old, a 2yr old and a newborn ... not sure I’ll be posting much 😂

Alohomora07 · 15/08/2018 12:47

Really sorry to hear of those suffering losses 💜 no one prepares you for how hard these first weeks are.

@SPR1107 yes to the itching! Although mine has been mainly on my lower legs, my back and stomach have started itching today. I thought it was to do with stopping my daily antihistamines but find it so interesting it is possibly because of blood flow @Fluffy475!

On the subject of piriton, I suffer really seriously with allergies and take a high dose of fexofenadine daily (which I have now stopped until I get further guidance) but I did start having an allergic reaction this morning and Googled on the NHS website that you can take Piriteaze safely - it's a liquid version of piriton with a different drug. I look half a teaspoon this morning as I was desperate. Really hoping the NHS website is right but I am seeing my allergy consultant on Friday to find out for sure!

organised5 · 15/08/2018 12:49

Yes yes if you want to join the facebook group we are growing in numbers, about 25 or so of us now! PM me your email address to join :)

Pepperpot81 · 15/08/2018 12:49

Congratulations to all newcomers!

💐 and hugs to anyone who needs them.

Can I just ask if anyone else is getting hot?! Feels v strange!

I also just did an hour of slow housework - tidying cupboards etc - while DD played with her toys and now feel absolutely wiped out!

Scan tomorrow at 7 weeks - then will be hoping the next fortnight goes fast - as all being well that’s when we’ll start telling people. Booking in not til 31st August and NHS scan on Monday 24th September! 12+4 feels v late to me! Anyone else got there’s that late? Wondering if it is worth trying to move it forward?

SPR1107 · 15/08/2018 12:59

You're lucky to have your scan date already @Pepperpot81. I'm not being booked in until 5th sept, I'll be 9 weeks but then, and then I'll get my scan day after that. How have you got yours if you haven't been booked in yet,
I've got an early scan booked on 31st and I'll be 8 weeks then. With DS1, they didn't scan me until exactly 13 weeks, it's anywhere between 11-14 weeks as standard

Beaglemum93 · 15/08/2018 13:00

@Alohomora07 Piriteze has cetirizine in it. It's not known cause problems in pregnancy but the manufacturers advise against using it. So it should be fine but you should probably speak to the GP or midwife before continuing with it. It's likely less harmful than having allergic reactions.

Alohomora07 · 15/08/2018 13:17

@Beaglemum93 Yes it is cetirizine, and you're right about the lack of knowledge about it. The NHS website lists it as safe but not fully tested. It's all so conflicting isn't it! I took a tiny amount today and will be reviewing it with my hospital allergy consultant on Friday. Apart from emergencies I'm not taking any antihistamines for now 😊

Beaglemum93 · 15/08/2018 13:24

@Alohomora07 It's so hard to know with any meds because they can't really test them on pregnant women. The consultant will advise you. At least it's not long til your appointnent :)

edinburghdancer · 15/08/2018 13:31

Wow, hello. What a lot to catch up on. Great there's lots of us here but not great there's been upset already. Keeping fingers crossed for lots of sticky beans.

I'm 39 and this is DC2 through IVF and a bit of a last chance saloon as we weren't going to go beyond 40. I've got DS who will be 3 in December and has no idea what is going on. I overstimulated through the IVF so was not expecting to get this far at all and it feels totally different to the first pregnancy but keeping fingers crossed. Early scan on 3rd September and estimated due date 22 April.

Hope everyone is good and I'll drop in more often now I know where we all are! Smile

Treaclepie19 · 15/08/2018 15:18

Welcome everyone :)

I feel sick today... Which I was happy about until I got an upset stomach and now I'm just worried it's something else. Ugh!

Pepperpot81 · 15/08/2018 15:31

@SPR1107 they sent my scan letter with my booking in letter. Doesn’t sound like it works that way everywhere!

whataconundrum · 15/08/2018 16:45

Hi all? Can I tentatively join? Due 19th April. This will be baby #2 for me...I have a DC who is 18 months :) if there is fb group, I'll jump on that!

Hisashiburi · 15/08/2018 16:58

Hi all,

Good to be part of the April gang...fingers crossed for all of us :)

italianwifey · 15/08/2018 17:04

I’ve got my scan through too, but not until Oct 9th when I think I’ll
Be over 13 weeks!! Feels like such a long wait. Might get a paid for one before that!

DumbledoresSocks · 15/08/2018 17:41

Wow loads to catch up on. I've forgotten to check this thread since joining the FB group. Congrats to the newbies and hugs for the losses. Miscarriage is an absolute bitch Thanks

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 15/08/2018 18:08

Things I have done today:

15 mile cycle (towing 6yo dd)
Taken a boot load of stuff to the skip
Dropped in antenatal form with the midwife.

It feels a bit surreal.

DartmoorDoughnut · 15/08/2018 18:17

Have we got a list of who is due when? Sorry I’m trying to keep up but I keep getting interrupted gives both DSs the sideeye

I know it’s a bit early but I quite like seeing who is at the same EDD Blush just copy and paste and add your name!
