Hi @Baby160P the 12 week scan can be done between 11-13 weeks. Mine is booked for 11+6. The reason for this is there is a window to take the nuchal measurements.

@SuperSharpShooter82 @welshsoph

You've made my day!! Super excited xx

RachaelT · 12/07/2018 18:36

Tha is for the detailed infor @welshsoph I feel better prepared for mine on Wednesday now. I'm even older so will probably be told the same but who knows the way trusts vary in their approach!

HidCat · 12/07/2018 18:40

@BadBadBeans congratulations and welcome! I feel your trepidation Hun, I'm trying to stay positive in the hope that will rub off on the baby. I called the midwife 2 days after my bfp and had an initial appointment the following day. Full booking appointment arranged for early August. If nothing else at least it will all be recorded. I haven't told anyone yet as hubbys Mum spilled the beans last time so he doesn't want to tell anyone until we have to but I will probably tell my Mum and my best friend fairly soon as I want their support.

@frankiefumbles I hope you're doing ok. I'm sure it is just irritation from the probe, hope it's stops quickly so you can relax.

@hamandpease my biggest issue has been the heat, I've renamed my office "The Sweat Box". It's making all of the pregnancy symptoms worse! Felt ok today though as we finally had some rain!

@Wineandchoccy the weeble stage 😂 love it!

Just devoured pizza and chips and a mars bar after a busy day at work. Something tells me I'll be falling asleep on the sofa tonight 💤

orangekitkat13 · 12/07/2018 18:42

Wow I'm struggling to keep up today!!

@frankiefumbles fingers crossed it turns out ok for you.

@Wineandchoccy we were pretty lucky TTC. First pregnancy took 3months then ended in Mc at 5weeks. This time only took 1 try! Sorry it took you so long, can imagine how tough that is

@hamandpease seems to vary at work quite a bit, yesterday really struggled to concentrate but much better today. Very office based for a few weeks but working on a big event at the end of the month where there will be a lot of running about, not looking forward to that!

@BadBadBeans I've only told one friend and my boss (and DH obviously!😜) keep toying with telling another friend who has an 8month old as she has been through it all recently but I'm not sure

puravida31 · 12/07/2018 18:56

Welcome @BadBadBeans!

We had initially said we wouldn’t tell anyone until 12 weeks, but that’s easier said than done! I’ve told 2 of my closest friends and also my boss, as I work with some high risk / violent clients so work need to risk assess / plan to make sure me & pip will be safe! I’m seeing my sister this weekend so may tell her then, she’s going through a tricky time at the mo so not sure if I should say anything or not. I’m thinking she could do with some good happy news, so think I will.

@frankiefumbles I’m sorry you’re going through this scare, as others have said it seems likely it was linked to the prodding about in the scan. How are things now? Are the cramps easing up at all?

peonylover22 · 12/07/2018 19:00

My goodness, is everyone 35 or over under consultant care?! I am 35 and had an uncomplicated pregnancy last time (but a somewhat complicated birth which I would actually like to chat through with a consultant at some point 😬)

Shampooeeee · 12/07/2018 19:19

I have told a close friend who I see all the time. I want to tell another but I’ve only seen her in a group situation lately and I’m not ready to share with everyone.
I told another friend who is pg herself as it felt weird talking about her scans, how her toddler will cope, etc, without sharing.
Another friend guessed when I was off the booze at a dinner.
DH has told his boss (he will need time off if it goes wrong) and his best friend.
I don’t really want to tell the families until we have to!

Bozley47 · 12/07/2018 19:21

@peonylover22 if you discuss your previous birth at your booking in appointment I’m sure they will refer you to consultant clinic to discuss further. I have been referred as I tick many boxes on the ‘should probably consider an ELCS’ but I want to discuss with consultant as we live quite rural and have very limited family nearby that could help when hubby goes back to work after paternity leave. Crazy to be thinking about the birth when we are only just at the beginning!

Orville82 · 12/07/2018 19:35

Hi all,
.
I’m tentatively hopping on here after my bfp yesterday which just happened to be ds1’s 3rd Birthday. Estimated due date of 13th March but I think I ovulate late so I’m mentally adding a week.

Will attempt to catch up on the thread but man, there is a lot to read! Grin

Wineandchoccy · 12/07/2018 19:39

I didn’t think about whether I would be under a consultant I will be almost 38 when he or she arrives, best get my Zimmer frame ready Grin I had a wonderful pregnancy last time the birth was a completely different story though Confused

puravida31 · 12/07/2018 20:11

Welcome @Orville82 and congratulations on your BFP! What a nice day to find out as well!

ladycarlotta · 12/07/2018 20:17

Welcome @Orville82! Congratulations on your bfp. I wouldn't worry too much about catching up - there'll only be more to read tomorrow...

@wineandchoccy eep I'm trying not to think too much about the birth. It sounds horrific.

We haven't told anyone but DP's parents yet. Trying to leave it as long as possible, and it's a bit easier as we've only recently moved city so don't have a lot of people to hang out with yet 😢 everyone who might have guessed if they saw me regularly are fortuitously far away so it's good cover. I think I said above that I'll tell work tomorrow if the scan goes OK.

Wineandchoccy · 12/07/2018 20:24

ladycarlotta it was worth it though and you do forget otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it again - You can remind me of that in March when I am complaining Grin

ErikaSt · 12/07/2018 20:29

Hi everyone! I got my first BFP on Tuesday. First baby, and 5 weeks.

It’s so hard not telling anyone. I’ve never been so hungry before! I’ve been taking my usual salad lunch and sneaking out for a second lunch so my colleagues don’t suss. Anyone else getting extreme hunger? I’m trying not to chow down junk and focusing on fruit and veg but it’s just not cutting it. What else can I eat to fill me up?

I’m also feeling really anxious. If I get a twinge I’m nervous something’s going wrong, if I don’t then I’m nervous it’s gone. 🙄 This bubba has taken over my mind. 😄

Sarahandduckarehigh · 12/07/2018 20:34

Wow, three more pages in as many hours!

@wineandchoccy it took us 13 months first time around. I booked an appointment to see our GP to be referred for investigations and bam - pregnant. I think I had two chemicals in those 13 months - I never got a BFP but was 5 days late both months when I am usually like clockwork. This time around it took 3 months.

@badbadbeans the only person I have told is a close work colleague. I'm seeing one of my best friends on Saturday and will tell her then - she is 6 months pregnant with her first so we'll be on mat leave together for a bit. We've booked a reassurance scan when I'm 8 weeks exactly so will tell both sides of the family if we see a heartbeat then.

@peonylover22 I turn 35 in October and was pretty keen to get pregnant before then for exactly this reason. Though I ended up consultant-led last time around due to my BMI, so that'll probably happen again regardless. I really really don't want to be classified high risk as I'd like to give birth at a midwife led unit this time around.

Wineandchoccy · 12/07/2018 20:46

Welcome and congratulations Orville82 and Erikast

Wineandchoccy · 12/07/2018 20:53

My Cat won’t leave me alone she isn’t normally fussed about sitting on knees but keeps putting her head on my tummy Smile

@puravida31 I think I'm out. I haven't had it confirmed but the clots/cramps are just so similar to last time. When I peed at mums house I showed her the clots (is that grim...I felt it was really grim...) and she agreed it looked as if it had come out.

I'm still totally confused about why the consultant said what he did at the scan and why we thought we saw the flicker. The size of it on the scan didn't match my likely dates which should have been a clue and the day I was in France when I first went on knicker watch was the day I lost the sensation of something "being" inside me. Perhaps my mind has created the story.

From my point of view, for anyone else who goes through it, there's nothing you can do about it. You've just got to relax and let nature take its course. I did everything I could to let it do it's thing. But it wasn't to be. I'm 99.9% sure that's me out. There's a small chance that maybe it's still there but I highly doubt it. As I said, I don't have the time or inclination to spend more money on scans and because of the weekend and my GP surgery it would be well in to next week before I could get hcg done to see if it's rising or falling. I'd rather assume it's gone til rather than hold on to the false hope. I suppose there's a small chance I'll come back here but I think it's unlikely.

I've got really attached to you guys and I hope you all progress well. I'm absolutely fine, I'm not hugely upset, just frustrated. I may well log on again at some point to check to see how you guys are doing :) our biggest worry was the actual TTC and we've done that twice now, so I know for sure we can do it again. Out with the ovulation strips again and military precision

Onwards and upwards x

frankiefumbles I’m sorry to hear that I hope that you are wrong but I wish you lots of love and luck for the future

RachaelT · 12/07/2018 21:04

Gutted for you @frankiefumbles please let us know how you get on and (as far as I'm concerned) you're more than welcome to keep tabs on us if you want - I'm not sure I could handle that though!

Bozley47 · 12/07/2018 21:05

Sorry to hear you think that @frankiefumbles you sound very sensible about the whole thing and as you said you are obviously able to get pregnant which is good, fingers crossed you get a sticky one next time round.
Hope you get some clarity through GP next week or so x

Orville82 · 12/07/2018 21:12

I’m sorry @frankiefumbles. I’m glad you’re feeling generally ok with it and hope that you get some firm answers next week.

Baby160P · 12/07/2018 21:17

@frankiefumbles so sorry to hear that. I hope you're ok it seems your head is in the right place xx
