Asked DH to buy some coleslaw but to check the egg used in the mayo is pasteurised, just got a message saying it only says free range so told him I don't want to risk it - bang goes my cheese savoury sandwich!

Orville82 · 19/07/2018 13:38

Welcome @ALRM. Wow you’ve really been through the mill. It’s really reassuring that they are monitoring you so well but I suppose a little unnerving at the same time.

@RachaelT I’m pretty certain coleslaw with free range eggs is fine. It is of course your call though.

peonylover22 · 19/07/2018 14:13

Hi @ALRM I hope your scan goes okay.
Eggs are fine as long as they are lion stamped. A different test, but I would assume that free range eggs would also comply with that regime.
I started feeling sicky today, right before an important presentation. I tried a biscuit in desperation to settle my blood sugar but it didn’t work. In desperation, (and because I remembered reading something about grapefruits helping morning sickness when researching my grapefruit craving) I tried half a grapefruit and it totally did the trick. Definitely worth a try!

ALRM · 19/07/2018 14:21

Well I got to the EPU to find that they had given me the wrong date. It's next Thursday 😡. Me and DH had both taken time off work. Not to juggle my calendar for next week. Really disappointed as was hoping we might at least see that it is not in the wrong place today. Oh well another week of waiting! On the positive side I am feeling sickly today so that's good!

Thanks for the welcomes!

pushit · 19/07/2018 15:21

So after worrying that my bloated/pressure filled tummy was sign of an ectopic - my sickness has gone from constant and over whelming to only slightly at a few moments. So nice but now I'm worrying about that... 🙄

pushit · 19/07/2018 15:22

Sorry about the scan @ALRM - that totally sucks. Were you able to enjoy your day off somehow?

pushit · 19/07/2018 15:23

Hope it goes well tomorrow @hamandpease x

hamandpease · 19/07/2018 18:30

Thank you @pushit just want it done!

Marmite2018 · 19/07/2018 18:47

@Mumtobe34 @MistakenHoliday

Well I told my employer today and feel SO much better. She was really really lovely!!! It's such a relief to have that over and done with now so that I can focus on me.

For anyone suffering with the morning sickness (all day sickness) I've purchased some travel sickness bands and they seem to be working... they've taken the edge off a bit anyway. I also purchased some peppermint Mum to be bon bons that came really highly recommended! Maybe worth a try for anyone feeling truly awful.

Marmite2018 · 19/07/2018 18:49

@hamandpease sending you hugs. I feel exactly the same.

WildFlower2018 · 19/07/2018 19:01

@Marmite2018 I just came here to post the same thing! Purchased travel sickness bands today and they've really helped!

Mine are the sea bands. Got them from Tesco pharmacy if anybody is wondering.

Murphyrocks · 19/07/2018 19:01

Glad you had a good experience with your employer @Marmite2018 - I reckon most are pretty good and nice to have that load off your mind.

@pushit I know exactly what you mean, today's the first day I haven't felt like death warmed up and of course now I'm worried that's because the hormones aren't doing what they're meant to! Been accompanied by some cramping too but trying not to freak myself out, had a strong heartbeat less than a week ago.

Wow @ALRM you really have been through the mill, but congrats on your bfp! How annoying about your scan but hope you enjoyed your time off with dh.

@RachaelT as others have said raw eggs are now fine as long as they're lion stamped which is a legal requirement for all commercially sold eggs in the UK, so personally I'd say you'd be fine! Pasteurised still needed for cheeses though, or cooked. I had no idea I could still eat soft or blue cheeses as long as they're cooked!

ALRM · 19/07/2018 19:31

Thanks guys we went for cake and walk which was lovely 👌

Goatlady5812 · 19/07/2018 20:35

Hello all! I cannot keep up with this thread 😂😂😂 I never get much of a chance to check it but when I do there’s so much to catch up on! Sounds like everyone is doing well sorry for all those feeling decidedly dodgy. Had my second follow up scan today. 10 days ago baby was measuring 5 plus 3.... today 6 plus 2?! Both times good strong heartbeat seen on US- is it ok that in only ten days he’s only grown 6 days if you know what I mean?! Also I’m very sure of my conception date and I have myself down at 7 weeks plus.....?! Any ideas you wise bunch?! X

Bluebelltulip · 19/07/2018 20:45

@Goatlady5812 I'm by no means an expert but I would say growth and strong heartbeats are a really positive sign. I have heard that the error in measurements at this stage is quite big so I wouldn't worry about 6 days growth in 10.

Goatlady5812 · 19/07/2018 20:48

@bluebelltulip thanks for ur reply. Yes I think that’s just the case hopefully by week twelve he will have caught up! X

pushit · 19/07/2018 20:54

@Murphyrocks sorry to hear you're worried about not feeling sick. Mine hit back with a vengeance this afternoon and during toddlers bath/bedtime. Eugh. Maybe it just fluctuates?

Thanks for the peppermint tip. I sucked some chewing gum earlier which sort of helped. I've also got the sea bands but not sure if I've got them in the right place.

pushit · 19/07/2018 20:55

@Marmite2018 meant to tag you in my thanks for peppermint tip!!

Jadeelx · 19/07/2018 21:00

@Goatlady5812 strong heartbeat and growth is very reassuring. When I was pregnant with my son last year I had multiple early scans, I found that the early scans dates were always off, but by 12 weeks or so it had evened out and was in line with my original EDD by LMP. I think they grow at different rates in the early stages, not all babies grow at the same rate I do believe the have little growth spurts in there. Also as bluebelltulip said the error in measurements as the baby is so small right now it’s easy to be out slightly! They give 5 days variance anyway so I think it’s very positive! X

Goatlady5812 · 19/07/2018 21:03

@jadeelx thank you 😊 I always feel so much better after coming on here x

Wineandchoccy · 19/07/2018 21:06

Did anybody watch The highland midwife? And think oh my what have I done Grin

Marmite2018 · 19/07/2018 21:26

@pushit you're welcome! I have to say the sea bands really worked for me this evening! I even managed to eat a small dinner... progress! They say three fingers down from your palm. They do look a bit funny on and give you some nice red marks but I'll take that over constant nausea...

cameltoeflappyflapflap · 19/07/2018 22:57

I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I had HG when I was pregnant with my son and I feel like crap with this pregnancy too.

I want to wear seabands but I don't know how I can wear them without anyone seeing them. It's still warm here but I'm so early on that I'm not telling anyone about this pregnancy.

BadBadBeans · 20/07/2018 01:23

Oh crikey guys. I've been out on a work do tonight and eaten two hours later than normal, plus drunk a big glass of fizzy drink which I wouldn't normally touch. The bloating and trapped wind I have now are unbelievable. I have gone from a fairly flat stomach this morning to looking about 16 weeks pregnant! I've seen that a couple of you guys have had this too. When did it stop for you, or is it still ongoing? I'm so uncomfortable!

MistakenHoliday · 20/07/2018 05:47

@Marmite2018 yay! That's fab news! I've avoided the sea sickness bands at work because they're a giveaway for morning sickness. I remember getting loads of knowing looks last time! Last day today though so I'll have to root mine out and put them back on 😀

Where did you get the bonbons from?
