32
Nottinghamshire
Due- 23rd March
DS1 is 20 Months.

I had two early miscarriages before DS so very nervous. I am also Rhesus negative and am very concerned I was sensitised in my last pregnancy so seeing the GP this week to discuss options.

MisBit1 · 16/07/2018 21:16

Hello I’ve been lurking but I’m ready to jump in since it seems to be the day for it.

Age: 36
Dc2 (DS is 3 in September)
I’m 5+3 so think my EDD is 15th March

I’ve had dizziness, nausea and bloating but am happy with any symptoms after an mmc earlier this year it’s quite reassuring! I’m booking a scan for between 7 and 8 weeks and have done 14 tests so far (4 ICs last Monday, 2ICs a CB and a CB digi and then 1 IC a day since.) I’ll probably carry on until I run out, I’ve even taped them to a pice of paper so I can see the progression. I did a grand total of two with DS so it’s a bit of a novelty.

Orville82 · 16/07/2018 21:20

Wow! So many newbies. Welcome all.

I’m sorry to hear of the sad losses too. My heart goes out to you both. X

I’m still not really experiencing any concrete symptoms. I’m tired, but that might be attributed to going to a concert last night then doing 12hrs at work after a 3.30am alarm. Yuck! I have no boobs but DH is finding my increased nipple size hilarious Confused. I can’t remember when I started to feel sick last time but I know my symptoms disappeared for a week and I panicked and booked an early scan. I’m just waiting for the boob fairy now. Give my sad little titties something to be proud of!

Marmite2018 · 16/07/2018 21:21

I've just purchased some travel sickness bands and some tummy settling peppermint bon bons that are recommended for morning sickness. Will let you know how I get on in case they help!

Hello to the other newbies who have joined today :).

TheWanderlust · 16/07/2018 21:23

Hey @Marmite2018 👋 congratulations! I'm in Surrey too x

Bozley47 · 16/07/2018 21:32

Welcome all newcomers! @BadBadBeans I’m near Exeter too. My DD is two is January. Are you north south east or west of Exeter?

Murphyrocks · 16/07/2018 21:45

Wow its definitely the day for new joiners! Congrats to all! If anyone else would like to join the Facebook group too do send me a pm with your real name and description of your profile picture and I'll add you on (then delete the connection so there's no correspondence trail, mwahahaha...)

@BadBadBeans if you wanted to join there's a thread there with all the stats which is nice and easy to follow? About half of the group is on there I think.

MistakenHoliday · 17/07/2018 05:55

Welcome to all the new starters!

@Marmite2018 I'm a teacher too! The sickness has been too much this week though and I've had to have today and yesterday off. I'm hoping I'll feel better tomorrow - the guilt! - but can't say I'm confident 🤢

Marmite2018 · 17/07/2018 07:51

@MistakenHoliday I feel your pain! The guilt is almost as bad as the nausea! I've come in today but feeling a little bit brighter than yesterday, I do find I feel worse in the afternoons though! Hope you feel better soon and I wouldn't worry about work, you're more important right now :)

@TheWanderlust which hospital are you? All being well, we will be using Frimley :)

TheWanderlust · 17/07/2018 08:01

Frimley is my preference too @Marmite2018 as it is literally 5 minutes away from home.

Will you have far to travel? I've heard of people coming from Wokingham/Reading to Frimley because of its reputation!!

BadBadBeans · 17/07/2018 09:12

@RachaelT yep I'm happy to compile a list if people PM me their stats.

@Murphyrocks thank you! I won't be joining Facebook for a loooooong time yet though - I am a former teacher and online anonymity is something I am pretty careful about. I didn't join DS's FB group until the babies were all 3 months old!

I've had some nice line progression this morning with a cheapie so I'm feeling reassured (for the next five minutes, anyway!).

Welcome newbies! @MisBit1 yep I am also taping ICs to paper to see progression. One a day... Apart from the odd two or three a day! I'm only 4+3 now but found out at 3+5. I am counting down the days until I can have a scan! I'm going to wait until 10 weeks and have a scan done with the Harmony.

Murphyrocks · 17/07/2018 09:17

@BadBadBeans OK no worries, the group is secret though so you can't be found on it! Glad you've had some test reassurance too.

@BadBadBeans of course I understand!

Bozley47 · 17/07/2018 09:26

@BadBadBeans I’m in woodbury. I totally get your reservations about Facebook privacy, my profile is pretty locked down too. I only use Facebook really now for my daughters mumsnet group anyway!

Hmmm. I just rang the surgery and was told that I shouldn't see a GP until 7 weeks. I explained that last time I rang early on and was told not to ring again until 8-12 weeks, but rang back earlier at 6 weeks and got told by somebody different that I must come in straight away, so was she ABSOLUTELY SURE I should wait till 7 weeks?! I also mentioned that I would at least like the pregnancy recorded in my notes because of having had a recent miscarriage and suddenly I have an appointment for this afternoon Hmm. Now I feel like I'm going in way too early and wasting precious NHS time! But the NHS website says you should ring your GP as soon as you find out you are pregnant. Argh!

Jenfur · 17/07/2018 10:47

I called my doctors yesterday and was told that I should see a midwife from about 8 weeks. No mention of seeing a GP.
With my son, I rang when I found out I was pregnant and the receptionist was definitely snotty about how early I'd dared to call. As you said, youre told to call your GP when you find out. I was also worried that they'd not be able to fit me in if I rang closer to the time and I'd be having a booking in appointment at about 20 weeks knowing my surgery.

Murphyrocks · 17/07/2018 10:55

@BadBadBeans it's so weird isn't it how different it depending where you are, my midwife wants to see you by the 6 week mark here but speaking to people on here that seems quite early. Wants to give you all the do's and don't's I think! Glad you've got an appointment anyway and hope it goes well.

rab1991 · 17/07/2018 10:58

hello all!!
I'm due 08/03/19. this is my third pregnancy... I've had a stillborn at 27 weeks and a miscarriage at 7 weeks previously...anyone else feeling like they are expecting blood every time they go to the loo? Sad
I do feel really excited like I did first time around, but still heartbroken from before and scared to enjoy my pregnancy...

BadBadBeans · 17/07/2018 11:04

Thanks @Jenfur @Murphyrocks. Yes it varies hugely from area to area! You can't get a referral to a midwife here without having seen a GP first so like you Jen, I would rather not leave seeing the GP too late as that will inevitably impact on booking-in dates. I think I might mention to the doc when I see him the conflicting advice from the NHS website / my surgery. They may not realise that the website says to ring immediately I suppose?!

The receptionist did say i needed to have two positive tests before coming in. I didn't tell her I had nine...

Shampooeeee · 17/07/2018 11:15

Welcome rab1991 and congratulations! I'm sorry to hear of your losses. The stillbirth must have been devastating. Did you have any counselling? It might be worth asking for a mental health referral from your midwife to ensure that you are well looked after. I know from friends that referrals can take a long time, so it might be worth getting it in early, even if you feel ok at the moment.
I had an MMC at 13 weeks the first time around and my next pregnancy I found hypnobirthing helped me come to terms with the worry and the feeling that my body had let me down by not alerting me that the baby had died.

orangekitkat13 · 17/07/2018 12:55

@rab1991 sorry to hear you have had such a tough time. I had a MC in May and as constantly checking for blood so you are not alone.

BadBadBeans · 17/07/2018 13:02

@rab1991 what a sad time you have had. Congratulations on this new pregnancy. I'm not expecting blood yet but you can bet your bottom dollar I will be when I get to 9 weeks. I'm glad you still feel excited. You must be very conflicted. Do you have good support in RL? X

Miami81 · 17/07/2018 14:07

Hi. I'm tentatively waiving hello, been lurking on and off for a couple of days. Due 21st March apparently.
Just wanted to say a particular hello to @rab1991. I am in the same situation as you. 2 miscarriages in 2016 and a stillbirth in 2017 at 27 weeks. I can't actually believe I am pregnant again. Anyway dm me if you want to chat about the particular cluster fuck of a situation we find ourselves in.
All the best to everyone else, I hope to get to know you better if I make it to 12 weeks. Currently focusing on 6wks (next Friday) for my first scan. Very nervous.
