Part 3 already! And there is a split in the group. Hopefully everyone joins on this one. Shall we try and get a list of due dates going? I'm also interested to know where people live if they'd like to share. Not sure what other info would be needed. Also if anyone wants to join the fb group let me know.

@clairehr avoid Vimto to drink because that just burns! Even after 2 bananas that hurt!! Cereal hasn’t been too bad.

Wames90 · 07/07/2018 14:43

I hope everyone starts to feel better soon. This heat definitely seems to make everything harder (at least we can all be grateful that when we’re heavily pregnant it’ll be winter!!)

clairehr · 07/07/2018 14:48

Thanks ladies!

I've heard banana is alright, but can't face eating one, haha! Toast is the only other thing I've managed that hasn't burned on the way back up. Eurgh!

As you say @wames90 I'm so glad we're not heavily pregnant at this point, I don't know how those ladies are coping! At least we'll just be nice and snuggly warm!

MrsY87 · 07/07/2018 15:03

My appetite isn't really there either but if I don't force myself to eat I feel terrible, think little and often is probably key.

I've been having some lower abdominal pains today which is worrying me a bit but just trying to remind myself that it's all normal in early pregnancy. I've not had any bleeding or anything so hopefully it's just things growing/stretching. Hard not to worry though and I can't really call anyone about it as we're on holiday for another week.

Definitely agree with not being heavily pregnant in the summer, DS was born at the start of sept last year so I was heavily pregnant through the summer and it was hot, the only plus side of being at work was the office was air conditioned!

@DragonFlew just accept one drink, pretend to drink it & then move on to water and say the heat has given you an awful headache? It's def more obvious when you don't have a drink than if you accept one and don't drink it.

DragonFlew · 07/07/2018 15:13

When are you all telling people that you're expecting?
We know this will be our last one so we're trying to hang on to the secret until 12 weeks. Its so hard though, I'm just bursting to tell everyone!

bubblybrit · 07/07/2018 15:16

I think I’m the only person on my street hiding indoors when it is so warm outside.

DH has just nipped to B&Q to buy me a fan which is working wonders!

It’s 23 degrees where I am. All of you ladies that are further south and experiencing temperatures of closer to 30 have my sympathy.

Pea1984 · 07/07/2018 15:32

@DragonFlew my EDD is 20th Feb so should be 8w4d when I have the scan next week. Petrified they won’t find anything though. We have only told my DH’s brother so wanted to have a scan before telling our parents.
I had to make an appointment with the GP who then booked me in with the midwife. Appointment isn’t until the end of July though when I’ll be almost 11weeks. The whole thing is pretty terrifying as it’s our first time.

DragonFlew · 07/07/2018 15:40

@Pea1984 im sure everything will be just fine! With my first I "got my dates wrong" so I had a scan at 9 weeks to settle my anxiety before a holiday. Its such an amazing feeling as soon as you see the little heartbeat, there's nothing like it xx

powkin · 07/07/2018 17:13

This heat can absolutely do one.

Completely agree with that @powkin
It's awful.

SallyStartsSinging · 07/07/2018 17:54

I had my scan - I’m not 8 weeks I’m 12 weeks !!

DragonFlew · 07/07/2018 17:55

@SallyStartsSinging that's amazing! What's your EDD now?

jeanzbeanz · 07/07/2018 18:03

@SallyStartsSinging well I guess that's the end of you on this thread!! I must admit when I had my early scan I secretly hoped that I was 4 wks ahead - I have heard of this happening before. How awesome, a whole month knocked off the waiting :)

Yakadee · 07/07/2018 18:14

@SallyStartsSinging - that's great! I'm so envious xx

chocpop · 07/07/2018 18:20

How are we all doing? It's a little cooler here today so I'm eternally thankful and don't need a fan blasting in my face 24/7!

Me and DP feel somewhat accomplished today- picked the name if it's a girl! Still struggling for a boy's one, though. I know there's a possibility it will change but it's still such a special thing. Are you guys settled on names already or not thinking too much about it yet?

bubblybrit · 07/07/2018 18:41

@chocpop. My DH and I got a little ahead of ourselves and chose names whilst ttc. Narrowed it down to our favourite two boy and two girls names! So I guess we haven’t made a final decision yet although it’s still pretty exciting 🙂 x

Bluebeee · 07/07/2018 18:43

That's great @sallystartssinging

@chocpop names are my favourite topic when it comes to babies. We were pretty set on a name from the beginning with dd1 and it's what we went with - Millie. We didn't know the sex so have a boys name left over that was the only one we could agree on so think if it's a boy it'll probably be that. I like Violet for a girl. Unlikely dh will go for it.

OP posts:
thismeansnothing · 07/07/2018 18:46

God I'm struggling today..DH has been out for the day at Alton towers so it's been me and DD. Had to take her to her dance classes this morning. Then we went to the cinema this afternoon and had a look at what was left in the next sale. Then I said we'd go to the fireworks at the pleasure beach this evening. At least he'll be back by then. I'm wrecked. And feeling sick. I couldn't even stomach my pick n mix at the cinema and I LOOOOOVE pick n mix 🤣

Me and DH talked about an early scan. He said give it a week and if I've not heard anything from NHS he said we could pay for one. It's £40 where I am so not too bad. I just want to make sure everything where it should be after last time.

Also. Annoying symptom already. Bloody leaky boobs. Sweet Jesus it's too early for that kind of stuff. That happened around 30weeks last time 😩😭 last night I noticed they were shiney and sticky. Colostrum. Looooveley 🙄

Camsie30 · 07/07/2018 18:46

For those who are not on thru really first pregnancy, how are your bodies? I don't know whether it's the heat, the IVF drugs or just cos it's baby 2 but my boobs feel massive already!!! Had to switch to a non wire bra already!

Camsie30 · 07/07/2018 18:48

Sorry hot fingers! It should say "for those not on their first pregnancy"

Celebelly · 07/07/2018 18:50

We are pretty much settled on Molly for a girl but we can't find a boy's name both of us like. DP drives me mad as he doesn't like any I suggest but he can't think of any he does like!

thismeansnothing · 07/07/2018 18:53

@camsie30 boobs have exploded here. Bought a new bra last week. Put it on today and thought I'd picked up the wrong size....nope. huge and sore and leaky. I'm swollen too but not sure if it's the heat, not drinking as much as I would, hormones or a combo of the three.

jeanzbeanz · 07/07/2018 18:59

I've been obsessively shortlisting names ever since we got the BFP. I have no idea how I'll ever choose. My husband isn't overly helpful, doesn't come up with any sensible suggestions!

thismeansnothing · 07/07/2018 19:04

Not getting ahead of myself with names. We really struggled with DD. All the names I loved were boy ones. We had it narrowed down to 2 in the end and struggled to come up with those. Then in the mele of her birth when they brought us back I was still in and out from the anesthetic, DH had to go with DD up to NICU and they asked if she had her name. Rather than say we hadn't decided yet DH said oh she's called Nancy 🤣 good job that was the name I was swinging to
