Into months 7 and 8 of our pregnancies now.. this will most likely be our last 'pregnant' thread before we all have our babies!!

How did we get here? Feels like just yesterday we were waving hello from the TTC boards.

If anyone new would like to join please do, we also have a very busy (private) Facebook group for everyone due in August 2018.

@StrawberryLemonade congratulations! Teeny babies are the best 😍

BertieBotts · 19/07/2018 09:43

DH has agreed to take clothes into hospital (yay!) So I think I'm going to take the two tiny things we have and then I'll get everyone to pick one or two of their favourite vests and outfits from the small sized stuff and then the next sized stuff that we have. That should give us a decent selection to use in hospital and a good guide to what sizes to use when we get home.

somersetsinger · 19/07/2018 10:00

Congratulations, StrawberryLemonade!

I'm glad to hear that the induction worked quickly and that your labour went well. Brilliant to be back home with your new baby and great that DD1 is excited to be a big sister.

Emmasmum2013 · 19/07/2018 11:28

Congratulations @StrawberryLemonade!!
So glad everything went well for you and you're back home. Its lovely that DD1 is doing so well too. Make sure you're getting plenty rest :) x

birdy1978 · 19/07/2018 14:26

Congratulations StrawberryLemonade! Glad it all went well for you. Hope you are resting and enjoying your newborn cuddles.

Shall we start a post-natal thread now there’s three babies?

Emmasmum2013 · 19/07/2018 14:33

This what I've got for her coming home outfit. That'll be ok won't it? Oh and she's got a hat as well, just a plain white one.

DD1 was a winter baby so this is all new to me!!

A post natal thread! Of course :D

Awww Emma and Gem, your outfits are so sweet.

I have a TON of crap to sort out WRT DS1's school stuff, maternity pay, maternity leave, tax return, DH's birthday and so on and so forth but I am sure I will get into the clothing and make some plans soon. Soon!

Gem173 · 19/07/2018 16:51

@StrawberryLemonade Congratulations on the baby girl! Does she have a name yet? It’s so exciting! 2/3 baby’s already!

BertieBotts · 19/07/2018 22:45

Ugh I think I have hit the emotional stage, I keep bursting into tears over things, not stupid things to be fair (at least that would be amusing!) but everything is so EXHAUSTING. Like the other morning when I couldn't find the right phone number for the hospital. And then today I went to DS's school thing and all of the other stuck up parents just blanked me as usual. I'd been dreading having to answer loads of pregnancy questions but actually I didn't even get that, unfriendly lot. So I was already holding back tears when I was there and feeling super out of place and it all hit on the way home (luckily it's a school sleepover for the end of term, so DS wasn't with us) and I couldn't stop for about 2 hours on and off (kept coming up with other reasons to be sad/feel crap!) which I used to clean the kitchen and then make a crap dinner because I didn't want to eat the nice one I'd planned.

And DH said he was feeling funny and crap too so I couldn't even go and get sympathy off him. Ugh.

StrawberryLemonade · 20/07/2018 00:50

Congratulations buk sorry I missed your news a few days ago!
BertieBotts I totally know how you feel re random emotions and crying! Sending a supportive hug x

Gem173 · 20/07/2018 06:34

@BertieBotts
Hang in there! All this emotion could be the baby gearing up to leave. I have read that before birth your emotions take a rollercoaster! Just take things easy and one thing at a time.

I haven’t really been emotional I’ve had the odd cry over things out of my control like utis but I’ve been more tired than anything!

If you are sad we are here to cheer you up! Just send us a message :)
And as for the unfriendly parents, well it’s their loss to not get to know you! Anyway talking to them would have probably made the whole trip out longer! And if it was me I’d want to be in and out! Xx

Emmasmum2013 · 20/07/2018 09:26

Currently just waiting in the hospital for some bloods to be taken. I've been feeling a bit dizzy the last few days so they sent me off for some tests. Fingers crossed it's just a touch an anemia or dehydration or something.

@BertieBotts hope you're feeling better soon. I always find I get more emotional when I've not had a good nights sleep, then I can get a good night and feel like a different woman. Hopefully the hormone wars will calm down and you'll feel more yourself. I have to say though, I'm dreading the school run mums too when my DD starts in a few weeks. I think I'm just gonna do the drop off and pick ups as quick as I can!!

BertieBotts · 20/07/2018 12:36

Aww thanks all. I am only 35 weeks still so don't want him to come just yet :) I think the heat is getting to me as well. But that will be easier once I don't need to go out any more. And until then I think I will try and keep my errands to the mornings, as the heat reaches its peak around 5/6pm here and stays very hot until about 10, when it reverts to "warm". We've slept with the fan on all night for the last two nights.

birdy1978 · 20/07/2018 13:05

Hello all, hope everyone’s feeling OK today. Here’s the link to a post-natal thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/3312255-August-2018-babies-including-the-July-early-arrivals?watched=1

Emmasmum2013 · 20/07/2018 20:03

Thanks @birdy1978! Can't wait to be a part of it :)

Midwife said my blood pressure was a bit high which can be causing the dizziness. And possibly a bit of anaemia, but will have to wait and see on that one.

peterpanwendy · 20/07/2018 21:19

@BertieBotts so sorry to hear you had a tough day yesterday. I cried for a good hour today and just kept thinking of reasons to be upset! So I totally get it. Ignore the mean mums at school, they're worse than the kids sometimes!

Hope all is ok @Emmasmum2013!

Same here ref. tears. Cried profusely today just because I am tired / achey / still have 3w3d left until EDD. Still haven't managed to shake the bad mood to be honest!

I have the opposite problem @Emmasmum2013 - I have low blood pressure and it causes dizziness too Sad
Battling sweating and palpitations to try and get the house in some semblance of order now I am officially on maternity leave.

Emmasmum2013 · 22/07/2018 19:28

I'm so fed up. Last week I felt totally terrified of the baby coming. I felt like it would totally turn our world upside down and I'd be so stressed and fail miserably at having two children.

Now, I am done. I want this baby out. I had really bad Braxton Hicks yesterday and rather than feeling scared, i felt actual relief that it was finally maybe over. Of course it eased off after a while and I've not had any more.

I've got over a month to go but I totally just want to not be pregnant any more. I want to meet my baby. I want to be able to roll over in bed. I want to not need to pee every half an hour. I want to be able to do a few loads of washing and cook a meal without feeling totally exhausted.

Please get out soon baby, mummy daddy and your sister want to see you!

BertieBotts · 22/07/2018 19:31

I know it's getting really close to the end for most of us but I've just downloaded Birth Skills by Juju Sundin and it's fantastic. I'm already feeling like it's so much more practical and inspiring than the hypnobirthing/natural birth books I've read. Highly recommended.

StrawberryLemonade · 22/07/2018 20:26

Hope everyone’s ok. I haven’t posted much as I’m exhausted and overwhelmed with a toddler and newborn. Feeding is so hard and we are waiting for tongue tie snip so I’m holding out hope that that’s the answer. Feel like such a bad mummy to DD1 and generally just physically rubbish as well. Urgh!

peterpanwendy · 22/07/2018 21:34

I started packing my hospital bag tonight.. it's so overwhelming I feel like my list is never ending! Back out on Wednesday to get the last of it! (Hopefully!)

Also I finish work for mat leave on Tuesday I can't believe it's finally here 😍

@Emmasmum2013 I totally get it, I can't believe I still have over a month to go too. Why are every day jobs just so hard? I've had a lie down 3 times today because I'm so tired. You can do it!

@StrawberryLemonade you are not a bad mum! Is the tongue tie snip Wednesday? Not long to go. I am so nervous to breastfeed I really appreciate you being so honest about it! This phase will pass and your DD1 won't even remember it she will just know her mum did a great job at looking after 2 babies! X

StrawberryLemonade · 22/07/2018 23:54

Thanks peterpanwendy. Theres no point in me trying to make it sound easy, for me it isn’t but it’s SO worth it in the end and I fed DD1 for 18 months. Of course some women find it much easier and natural which I hope you do! We tried to give her a little bottle top up this evening and she was just wanting her boobs back!
Yeh the tt snip is Wednesday.

Also seen the most hilarious thing today. DD1 has seen me feeding DD2 with the nipple shields so now she has some shields of her own that didn’t fit me and keeps putting them on to feed her doll! So cute.

Emmasmum2013 · 23/07/2018 06:42

@StrawberryLemonade
It sounds like you're doing so amazingly well!
And that story about DD one pretending to feed the dollies is so cute haha!
Hope the TT snip goes well on Wednesday.

Gem173 · 23/07/2018 07:03

Goodluck with the tt snip on weds @StrawberryLemonade, it seems like you are doing great :) I’m sure your daughter won’t even notice the exhaustion!

@peterpanwendy great that you have started your hospital bag! I just have to buy snacks to put in and I’m done too! You are so lucky to be able to start mat leave Tuesday :( I still have 3 weeks to go yet!

Oh and I spent the weekend painting baby’s room in my mums house ready for us to move in. Today my granddads gunna put up a feature wall (wallpaper) and it should be then ready to put the baby’s items inside!
Will add photos once the bedrooms decorated :)

Got a midwife appt this weds at 35 weeks, which I thought was weird because I thought it was supposed to be 34, 36, 38, 40 and now it’s at 35 I feel as tho it’s gone out of proportion :/

birdy1978 · 23/07/2018 10:52

It’s great you’ve got an appointment for the TT so soon StrawberryLemonade - hopefully all goes well and feeding will get more bearable. My little boy had to have his snipped (twice, it grew back...) but it made such a difference to feeding. It was definitely worth it - I fed him until he was nearly two. Thankfully this time my little girl doesn’t seem to have a TT, my nipples are a normal shape at the end of a feed - such a novelty! It was one of the first things I got the midwife to check!
