Alicejj8x · 05/07/2018 13:27

@UndercoverLauren
I agree it's horrible isn't it but I think most ppl have said this and have mentioned when the surge takes over again your start feeling rubbish

Alicejj8x · 05/07/2018 13:39

This may sound abit crazy but has anyone else had wavey lines on a preg test?

I'll include a pic but this is the first response test and the lines look very wiggly within the line if you get me

Has anyone had any weird cravings? I’m 8+4 and obsessed with any kind of melon which is not usually something on my food radar at all. Also I can’t wait for this heatwave to be over!

jeanzbeanz · 05/07/2018 13:44

I'm struggling today too. Think I've now felt nauseated constantly for three weeks. I've got zero energy and just cannot function at all. I'm fortunate enough to be living with my parents at the moment (house renovation) so I don't have to do any shopping, cooking etc but I literally don't have the energy to do anything. Today I woke up at ten, lay in bed for about an hour until I couldn't suppress the nausea any longer, went to the bathroom and heaved, ate breakfast and came back upstairs with the intention of having a shower (first for three days) but collapsed onto the bed... and am still here more than 2 hours later. This is basically how every day goes. I haven't left the house for well over a week.

My brain seems to have also stopped functioning so I'm not getting bored but I am so so sick of feeling sick and not having the energy to do simple things like make the bed or clean the bathroom.

Should I ring the midwife or speak to a doctor? I'm not sure whether I want a remedy for the nausea or for the exhaustion more.

Sorry to moan but really getting to the end of my tether.

Bluebeee · 05/07/2018 13:55

@jeanzbeanz that sounds really tough. I'm feeling similar. My sickness is interspersed with a pounding head ache. I'm trying to get people to look after my lg so I can go to bed. Have them return her to me at nap time. Back to bed. Let her sleep for much longer than I usually would. Make an easy cheat dinner for her then cbeebies and count down until bedtime. Can't do this for 9 months! I'm hoping 2nd trimester it'll all ease off.

I'm not sure a midwife will be able to help loads. But I always suffer in silence so I'm not the one to take advice from. They can prescribe nausea medication. You might find yourself with more energy if you can bring yourself to get out of the house. Easier said than done, I know.

hayleyfx · 05/07/2018 14:41

@jeanzbeanz sorry to hear you’re feeling so rough, I’m 9+2 and have quite bad sickness also. Not managing to keep a lot of food down. My midwife told me that if the nausea and vomiting got too much to just phone my doctor and they’ll happily prescribe anti-sickness medication. Now that I’m over 9 weeks I reckon I’ll just wait it out but by all means call and ask. It sounds like you’re really struggling so definitely get some advice. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

thismeansnothing · 05/07/2018 15:54

Struggling with fatigue and gippyness today big time. I can't face going into the kitchen. DH has left it like a bombsite and the smell is making me a bit green. That bad I went to maccies for a take away brew 🤣 So glad I don't work Thursdays though cos Ive just napped all day. Can't say I feel better for it but three naps. I must have needed it. Now sat in a baking hot swimming baths while I wait for DD to start her swimming lessons. It's un bearable. Like a green house.

Babybeany · 05/07/2018 16:07

@Alicejj8x I don’t see a wobbly line... 🤔 But just think back to when we were POAS and praying for that line. Would you have noticed a wobble then? Or just seen the line? I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about xx
Welcome @waves xx
@Kintan I’m not really craving anything yet... my sister craved golden syrup sandwiches so I hope I don’t follow in her footsteps otherwise I’ll be a proper chubber!!
@jeanzbeanz so sorry you’re struggling like you are! Sometimes getting out the house is the best medicine... easier said than done I know!
@thismeansnothing just the thought of swimming baths is turning my tum! Hopefully it’ll be over before you know it and you can get back out in the fresh air.

I told my boss today! I was going to leave it until the first scan, however work is starting to get tougher for me so I just told her. She actually squealed with excitement for me! Much better reception than I had anticipated! 😊 X

FrowningFlamingo · 05/07/2018 16:24

I've been in bed since about half two.
Funnily enough I think it being at work makes it worse, as I'm not distracted. I had today and yesterday off and felt much more tired and sick. Away for the weekend so will see how that goes, I guess it could just be that I'm 8wks now - I hope not though as I don't think I can manage feeling like this everyday, my work is quite intensive and quite long hours :/

jeanzbeanz · 05/07/2018 16:43

Thanks @Babybeany @Bluebeee and @hayleyfx for the kind words of encouragement. I think I need to speak to a doctor really and try some anti sickness meds but apprehensive about doing it for some reason?!

Spent the entire day in bed today, still not had my shower. Just forced down some lunch (piece of toast minus the crusts!) and hoping it might make me feel a bit better.

The few times I have left the house in the last three weeks left me feeling absolutely exhausted. I went to M&S once (to buy some bigger knickers!) and ended up having to sit on one of the display sofas for a while until I'd got enough energy to drive home again 😳. I tried going for a walk once but it left me feeling sicker and dizzier. Sooo I have come to the conclusion that doing nothing is best!

I feel guilty for moaning, but have also run out of optimism that I will start to feel better soon! I keep telling myself I'm lucky that I'm not getting many headaches and I'm lucky that I'm not throwing up everything I eat. Don't feel very lucky though 😂

Leonora94 · 05/07/2018 16:46

Just got home from work and DH who bless him as taken over meal planning/cooking to make sure I eat properly has announced mackerel salad from dinner...all I can think about is spaghetti and am on the brink of tears at thought of eating fish 😂 talk about fist world pregnancy problems!

jeanzbeanz · 05/07/2018 16:46

Sorry for the super long self pity rants 😳

Leonora94 · 05/07/2018 16:50

@jeanzbeanz this is a safe place for pity rants! Can’t do it else where, if I told anyone else about crying over fish I don’t think they’d understand...this is what it’s for x

jeanzbeanz · 05/07/2018 16:52

@Leonora94 bless you xx and if it's any comfort I was fighting back the tears a few days ago when my husband forgot to get me a glass of water which he offered me!!

Babybeany · 05/07/2018 17:02

@Leonora94 I cried over farting yesterday!! 🤣 Hormones are a real thing. Maybe ask for spaghetti tomorrow! 🍝 x

MakeLemonade · 05/07/2018 17:05

And my working week is done! Thank. Fuck.

The commute, the sickness, the inability to eat, the tiredness... I am so ready for the weekend. It will only eliminate the commute but I’ll take what I can get!

I too would be crying at the thought of eating mackerel. Marmite on toast is what I’ve eaten for every meal for about a week now.

jeanzbeanz · 05/07/2018 17:06

I'm not a crying sort of person at all but I really feel like a good cry would make me feel so much better right now! Perhaps I should ask my husband to forget to bring me some water again 😂

Celebelly · 05/07/2018 17:18

My OH has given up on proper meals I think. Yesterday all I could think about were supernoodles so he went to the shop and bought six packs. Today I cannot even look at a pack of supernoodles but really wanted satsumas so off he went again. Now he's back with them, the smell is making me boke 🙈

Leonora94 · 05/07/2018 17:21

I’ve been okay mostly but the Mackerel tears are real! 😂

hayleyfx · 05/07/2018 17:33

@Leonora94 just reading the word mackerel is making me feel nauseous haha! I don’t like fish anyway so smelling it now just makes me gag 🙈

I’ve honestly been eating a bit like a child recently... given up on trying to eat healthy as hardly any of my food stays down! Had a baked potato for lunch which was horrible coming back up - I don’t recommend eating them if you think you might be sick haha. So for dinner I’m having spaghetti hoops and chicken fingers! 🤣

twiglet · 05/07/2018 17:34

I would also cry at mackerel! I can't stomach any fish, seafood is fine for some bizarre reason and I love fish normally.
I'm struggling with my commute because everyone on the train smells which makes me feel sick and gag slightly...... Doesn't matter if its perfume, smell of their breakie, cigs etc I can smell it all and it makes me feel so ill!

FrowningFlamingo · 05/07/2018 17:37

Oh god Leonara my sickness hasn’t really been bad at all but there’s no way I could stomach mackerel. You have my sympathy!
Celebelly supernoodles are (were?!?) my go-to hangover cure so I can see they might cure pregnancy ills also!
I’m going to France for the weekend and need to be the ferry at 7am tomorrow morning, I can’t see it ending well :/

seafoodeatit · 05/07/2018 18:01

Sorry for everyone struggling with nausea, as I've said before on here I really recommend medication, it allows me to function and not just lie on the floor. Definitely don't suffer if you don't need to, I know not everyone is keen on it but it's an option, nausea can go on well into the second Tri and there's no shame in needing help.

It doesn't do anything for appetite though, I keep forgetting to make dinner/lunch, I keep forgetting everyone else still wants to eat! That must sound weird!

seafoodeatit · 05/07/2018 18:03

@frowningflamingo I hope your ferry trip goes well tomorrow, enjoy your time in France!
